Simone- regarding breast/ bottle I so agree. WIth M I started expressing and giving her one bottle feed a day and so when I went back to work she was happy to have both. What bottles are you using? I tried Nuk with her but she didnt like them, I tried for a few weeks of one bottle feed a day. Then I bough the Tommy Tippee and she still uses them now.
I know of people whose babies just wouldnt take the bottle because they left ot to late to introduce.
Wow Simone- you manage to express alot. And that is before a feed, so lucky. I would have to express twice to make up every feed I left at home for M when I went back to work.

Carol i had same problem..too much milk and Josh would choke and then has even more winds. A suggestion when u feed him, try to lie as flat as possible with him basically lying on top of your boob...really makes a big difference...as opposed to the milk squirting down his throat. Also i express about 100-150mls out sometimes if I have time before i feed him....that milk can be used for a top up. I had rtoo much milk....so had to express from week 1...was worried about what Juandre mentions but alot of my friends expressed from day 1 and had no problems with milk supply:)

I did the formula top up and really didnt make much difference after a while...yesterday I gave him only BM for the whole day and night and he slept sooooo much better last night...so i cant say that giving formula is going to be the miracle we sometimes hope it will be.

I have been giving Josh bottle and boob since day 3/4...and he still takes either with no problem. I know of ladies that go back to work and their kids rather starve cause they refuse bottle and formula.....so something to consider. I'd rather have Josh used to both.

Carol- I forget how many weeks your little man is. But your milk is only totally established from 6 weeks, so my midwife does not suggest expressing until they are 6 weeks. Having said that, if your let down is very strong and giving him winds perhaps express a little at the beginning of every feed. It will mean your milk doesnt squirt down his throat.

AFM- My wee was very murky yesterday so I went to see my midwife and she did a urine test. I have the beginnings of another UTI. So I am on citic soda to try keep it at bay. Kerry said that babies head is pressing on my bladder and so im likely to struggle until the end
I have 17 days until my c-sec date!!!!
