Jan/Feb/Mrch 2012 Momies to Be

Thank you ladies for all your advices. I think I’ve done like everything about wind/ colic/ crying thing. And it’s beginning to work. 3 times a day Buscopan syrop, alternating with 3 times a day Gripe Water, plus Colief drops with every feed, plus Reuteri drops once a day. Phhhew! Plus took her today to chiropractor. For the last 3 days with all these supplements she is an angel, not a scream – touch wood. Does anybody knows whether to give Buscopan and Gripe Water before or after feeds? I am still confused on that one.

Mummoo – we are also 6 weeks on Friday and going to paediatrician for check-up. Yes, one of the things about Eglonyl – I picked up 1.5 kg in one week while taking it, not cool! Will try fenugreek tablets – my last resort, but frankly I’m beginning to slowly fade away the breastfeeding thing, will drag it till 3 months are over and that’s it. Tallulah is looking very chubby and healthy so far, so I guess feeding is right on my side. Good luck with the party – I did few for my step daughter – madness, especially watching over bunch of kids in the swimming pool. I think to take them all to a bird park or Spur would be easier for next time.

Carlene – Mia is too cute for words! Beautiful photography. I liked your birth story, main thing – you tried. When I went into labour I was ready for everything, had my emergency hospital bag packed and said to midwife – if you see that it’s not working well, go for plan B. Nobody knows how it will pan out during birth (only God), so let’s be grateful that we are blessed with beautiful healthy babies in the end. I also feed Tallulah NAN HA, she seems to like it. But she has winds with any formula I offered, including soya, and after my milk too.

Cookie-monster – I am 6 weeks on Friday after fairly easy natural birth, and still bleeding. Very tired of it, but apparently it’s normal. Imagine layers after layers of the uterus that keeps healing and peeling off, until eventually everything is back to normal. Oh well, one of those things. I can’t wait to get hold of my gorgeous husband again.

Simone – great job with Josh, 5.9 kg, and smiles and cooes – I am jealous. No smiles from Tallulah though, mostly she looks at me with this serious grumpy chubby “give me food and then leave me alone” look. Ungrateful child. Cannot give advice on a runny nose, actually on anything concerning baby, I am a serious poophole in this department, zero experience.

Vision – looks like you are going to have a nice weight healthy baby too – well done!

Cookiemonster I bled for 8 weeks so dont worry about 2 - the norm is for up to 6 weeks but every woman is different. Love the pic of brother and sister.

Simone sorry about your rough night - hope Josh's nose clears up soon you sound exhausted. Josh is growing well though and sounds very sweet. is addison still enjoying school?

AFM went to the gynae today and Leah is growing really well and is healthy. She is about 2.4kg and I will be 36 weeks on Friday. Dr. is happy with everything. I have been haviing hectic pains down there and it feels like she is so low but dr. checked my cervix and it is still intact so he is happy.
My feet and hands are sooooo swollen but otherwise I cant complain. My friend is 28 weeks and had a tummy bug this week and from the vomitting she lost her mucus plug. she already has contractions and had all her babies early so she is very worried and just wants to get to 36 weeks. It shows me that I am blessed even though I complain about all the small aches and pain

And bloody hell...our kids don't play in the birth weight department hey??? All nice big babies!

Josh is now 8 weeks old....clocking in at 5.9kgs, 58/59cm. Got a bit of a runny nose...actually very wet nose...so didn't sleep well last night:( hope it dries out soon...my poor baby. Took kids to paed today so hope meds help both their noses.

Otherwise everything good. Josh so cute...smiles, 'talks'...such a happy boy when he isn't hungry and wanting boob.lol.

Sorry ladies...will come do more personals...I'm so tired as I'm sick and had fever last night...dh and I were up so much with Josh...he kept getting a fright due to nose I think...so we're both zonked today:(

Just a quick personal question:

How long did you ladies bleed for after giving birth. I cant remember how long i did with Zelmari, and its been just over two weeks now. Should i start getting worried or not. Dont want to phone my Dr for something so unnecessary.
