Jan/Feb/Mrch 2012 Momies to Be

Good day Ladies.

Sorry for being MIA these past few days. I started to write a post on Sunday night on Word, but the tiredness overwhelmed me and I didn’t finish it. I’m just so busy at work with month-end and training the lady who is going to do my work. Hope she will cope. In a way I feel guilty, but I know that my ML is my right. And, I haven’t been on leave for a year now. I’m still using my carried over leave from last year and that is not even finished yet. So I have a surprise for the people here, I’m going to take extra leave at the end of my ML.

Everything is still fine with me and “Sussa”. Still haven’t decided on a name yet. Simone, I feel for you with the heartburn. I also struggle with that a lot. During the day it is still manageable, but at night, Eish, it is not nice. If I sleep to long on my one side, I get heartburn. If I want to turn from my one side to the other, I must get up first and then get back into bed, because just that half of a second on my back, cause heartburn. So it is really not nice.
I also struggle a lot with BH contractions. Especially when I’m walking, it is a bit uncomfortable. I went to Centurion Mall on Saturday to do the last of the shopping for my bag, but it was a mad house, so I went to Woodlands Mall on Sunday morning early to get the stuff. Although it was early it was still very busy, but better than Saturday.

Maurene, glad you enjoyed the Carols, hope you took a chair with. I cannot sit on the ground for a long period anymore. Every night Emma wants her Picnic, but I can only manage to sit on the blanket for a half a hour or so. Then I must get up.

Zelf, glad Millay is doing great. I’m still on monthly visits, so I will see the gyne on the 22nd of December again. And then only next year, but I think then I will go straight to the 1week visits. Or maybe if he is happy it will be 2weekly. The party sounded lovely. Did you bake the cake, or did you asked someone to bake it for you. I will also have to find a venue for Emma’s party in March next year, because we will be moving in end of Feb and then it is two weeks till her birthday, and there won’t be any grass yet.

Carol, hope you and Ruan is better today.

Angi, you have a lovely bump. I look and feel like a house at the moment. My DH looked at me this morning and told me that if it wasn’t for the fact the he trusted the gyne, he would have thought that I’m having twins.

Ashleigh, you have way too many energy. Take it easy and enjoy the visit with the Midwife on Friday.

Shoe, it has been a hectic few days. There just isn't enough time in the day to get everything done.

We are also closing for the holidays next week Thursday till the 6th of Jan I cant wait. Its so fustrating sitting at work when I know there is so much I want to do at home. I cleaned the garage on Sunday to make it a play room again for the kids, but thats as far as I got. I havent had time to put the toys in and finish the room. Both Zaylee and Ruan's rooms also need to be sorted out. I've only manage to pack 1 bag for the baby so far in case we need to go to the hospital. I still need to pack 1 more bag for the baby and pack a bag for myself.

The nesting has definitely set in again. I want to change so much in the house. LOL

The heartburn is terrible, but I dont drink gaviscon. I drink milk which also helps alot.

Maureen - I'm in the same boat with regards to work. Not sure who is going to do my work when baby comes.

Zelf - I'm glad millay is doing so well. Try your best to take it easy.

Carol - How is ruan doing?

We are going to the midwife on Friday again, i hope they give the list of things we need to buy. I want to get organised now.

Morning Ladies,

Carols by Candlelight was really great. Just a bit tired this morning. Had a nice picknick and Jamie loved the music, the people and all the snacks. He sure is going to have a couple nasty nappies today and tomorrow! Glad he is at Playgroup!

7 more working days, then I am done. Still don't have any clarity as to who is going to do all my work, and if I might have to work from home. My bosses just don't seem to understand the impact of it all!

Carolsch - I hope you are not ill and feeling better? And Ruan - is he okay? This time of year everyone is short-tempered. Hope DH gets to finish all his work in time. How is the time with the in-laws?

Mandy B, I only buy shoes with rubber in front of the toes - otherwise the boys wears them once and the shoes looks like they are 2 years old Less than 2 weeks to go

All went well at the Gynae yesterday. Millay weighs 2.3 kg, and he is happy with everything. Just reminded me a few times, that if I don't want her to come early, I must rest, rest, rest!!! It is so hard to take things slower this time of year. I also got my second shot - yikes, did it burn this time! The previous time I didn't feel a thing. Seeing the backup Gynae the 20th, and mine is back from leave on the 30th of December - so Sussa has to stay where she is till at least then.

All the MIA girls, please come and just tell us if you and baby are okay.

Angi, I did not prepare my nipples last time and at had a bit of a problem with latching. It was sore for about 2 weeks and then it got better. And I breastfed for 5 months! Lansinoh nipple cream is amazing (quick healing) They say you have to try and toughen the nipples. You can use a your towel after showering and rub your nipples for a while. I find that sore hehe. But this time I will make a bit of effort with preparing for breastfeeding. I used the Pigeon breast pads too. The are great!

I also try to record the kicking. Got a few good movies. the best is where he kicked the remote off my tummy!

Zelf congrats on the little graduate!! must be such a good feeling Saw some pics on FB. Hope he is feeling better! Enjoy the appointment!

Maureen I know what you mean! I have been packing closets and kitchen cupboards and cleaning like crazy! haha. Enjoy you Carols by Candelight!

This weekend, on Friday, DH got home and looked a bit worn out. He said he was starting to feel sick. And so it would happen that I get sick, for the first time in years I had a "vomit attack" Gosh don't know what to call it. I started feeling very dizzy and nauseous. I tried to keep it quiet, but inlaws are staying there. So everyone knew i was puking my head of. Anyhow, don't know what that was about? probably a stomach bug. Janroux did not seem to think anything was wrong. He was trying to see how many times He could kick me before I throw up again!

Feeling dizzy again so I hope I am just tired! or Low BP.

Ruan is looking a bit "pap" today. He even asked me to go lie down with him. Shamepies. We went shopping on Sunday and I noticed Ruan dropping the toy he had in his hand when a baby started crying, to cover his ears, telling the girl to stop making a noise!. Wonder how he will react with a baby crying at home!!!

tempers are flaring at home. My husband got sooo much work at the moment and everyone wants it done NOW or YESTERDAY! So he is a bit touche. I feel so sorry for him when I snap at him after a long day, but I don't like it if he is "mislik" because he is tired. I guess that is just the way most men are. Ai. Anyway, cannot wayt till he can close on the 23rd. Peace and rest!

Inlaws are still here. Think they are planing to go home the weekend.
Janroux's clothes are washed and his things packed. Now only mommy needs to pack!

Hello Ladies,

I did get some rest last night, it just seems my mind won't ease up. Also have this urge to sort everything out and repack and repack some more!

We are moving in January so it is really getting me now. Not packing yet, as we will only do that once we come back from Durban on the 3rd of Janaury. I really hope we get everything sorted out soon. DH went to some of the building supply shops, to have a look at colour charts for painting. So will try and do it together on Sunday. Hoping to find something that I really like a lot. I love earth tones, so going with that as it is a bit warmer.

Another 8 working days. I can't wait anymore. These men are driving me insane at work, they don't want to work but as soon as they find out I am not in Janaury, they all come running for help!

Going to Carols by Candlelight tonight, can't wait. Just some relaxing time with good music.

I cant even remember when I last had time to log on. I am so sorry, I feel like such a deserter...
I dont have time to read back right now but will try in the next few days. Hope you are all well and that I havent missed any early births.
Vica seems to be doing so well, I am very happy for Amanda.

I am 6 months tomorrow!!!! Have an appointment at 10.15, cant wait to see our baba.

Last Saturday I wrote an exam.... I didnt sleep much all week havingto study at night as I couldnt stop work. I think it went ok, but the pass mark is 94% so I am not sure I did that well!!!
