Hey ladies.
Shew I love finding lots of posts to catch up on
Monica awesome that you get fully paid maternity leave
Betts so sorry about the flu. I find once i'm down I get sick so much faster again. Plus not much we can really take is there

But my gynae told me last time to double up on vit c, and get yourself some locobiotal nose and throat spray. It's really effective in killing the germs!!!
Re your maternity leave - can you not try negotiate that the total of the 3months pay be distributed over 4 months then you claim the balance from UIF? That way you can stay home for 4 months which you're allowed to by law?
Not sure how negotiable they'd be though since they're already offering full pay for 3 months but you never know hey. And you can also try take some annual leave to come back a little later than the 1st of Jan. If they are willing that is.
Re all the itchy bumps I am glad I'm not you. It's not really something I struggled with and yet I have a roadmap of stretchmarks on my tummy from last time.
This time none so far but I saw on my sides today they are starting up again. It already looks awful from last time

Oh well when I finally have my tummy tuck (before I'm 40!) hopefully they can take all that away

As for biooil - I cannot stand the oil on my body. Besides when is best to apply it?
Before bed time, then you land up with the smell in your bed. Before work, you get your clothes all oily and smelly. So never seems the 'right' time for it?
I used the palmers cocoa butter cream but also has a strong smell. And there's a product used to help with scarring from surgery called Dermastine A which we used for Kaylee's scars. But there is another one specially formulated for pregnancy which is Dermastine (without the A) as the Vit A is dangerous in pregnancy so not recommended.
I have mozzy / flea bites all over my back

And I am highly allergic to any form of bites they are all swollen and red despite me not scratching. My whole back feels like it's on fire. And I dont know what's safe for me to take for it

Will ask pharmacist for an antihistamine tomorrow cos I think that's safe (Texa).
Finally starting to feel a bit more movement from baby this past week. I was really stressing hey! It's still fairly soft and subtle but it's definitely there. Helps me breathe easier till my next scan on Tuesday

Tummy still not really any bigger. I think I'm hardly showing really. I saw a pic of an old school friend today who is also 20 weeks and she has a proper bump already. But she is quite thin and I'm quite big so maybe that's why.
I bought a pair of maternity pants at Edgars in the week, and put it on my account cos I cant pay R300 cash for it. They are very nice cos they dont have the band, just sides that are elastic but they are still a bit on the big side, and the legs are too long so I must tailor it before I can make use. Till then my jeans are just too tight now and so will have to live in my 3 pairs of tights till I can get another pair of jeans. But I'm not going to buy maternity, just a bigger size of normal jeans which should work.
We had 2 birthday parties today. One was at Bugz Playpark which is an awesome party venue from about the age of 2. My girly is just too little so struggled along, but she eventually got the hang of it and loved going down the slides.
The second was at the mom's school where she works. The kids took their bikes along and there was a jungle gym too. The weather played along so we were outside most of the time. She had a blast at both but the first was rather exhausting for me cause I didn't know anyone there so it was as if I'd taken Kaylee there on my own and yet had to partake in the singing and party stuff.
Glad the day is over though.
I want DH to take Kaylee out tomorrow morning as they really need to do some bonding.
She hardly sees him in the week, its rather hectic as he gets home just after her g-pa does, and she is very attached to him, so when daddy gets home she hardly gives him any attention. I can see it's getting to him. And then he partakes in either bathing or putting her to bed but that's not always enjoyable for her.
So hopefully an outing each weekend and a little more effort at night before bath time will help some.
Re boys names:
My favourites are: Kai and Eli. I also love Nathan and Daniel and Aaron.
That would be enough for me to choose from so I've never really thought further about it.
I havent bought anything more for the baby. I first want confirmation that it's a girl. And then I will slowly but surely buy her a few nice outfits of her own. From next month I'll start buying some extra toiletries and nappies, but really relying on the babyshower for some of this so wont really shop much till that's past.
We have about 4 black bags of girls clothes newborn till 1year which I will go through but only plan on doing so in August as its in storage so would have to be a special trip for it. Will pass on some of the clothes though as there was really just way too much!
I'd like to get a couple of special items this time around like a digital thermometre and a nice sling and new bottles (baby will have to go onto formula once I return to work during the day so need these) so between baby shower and we will sell our big pram cos we dont have the big car anymore, I should be able to buy all this stuff. Again probably only around August before we do that though.
We are hopefully going to borrow my Sil's travel system which is more compact so we dont need to buy another system.
Anyways better be going its way past my bed time!
