Ladies you will not believe this...help me go burn that medical aid!!!!! :swear: :swear:

So, their rate for NVD is....plz don't faint......R6,500!!!!!!!! Genesis is cheaper than Netcare, but, they want me to only use Netcare.....c-section specialists...... The gyneas I saw at Netcare were total bums, but this same scheme does not pay for an elective c-section...doesn't make sense... So of the R10,300 Genesis bill, they will not even pay their pathetic R6,500 but only 80% of that cos Genesis is a non-preferred provider. So we are looking at paying between R4,500 and R6,000 just for the hospital bill, and still pay for the midwive's fees cos they totally don't pay for midwives. Oh here is a joke, if there is a medical reason for me to give birth at home, they will only pay a midwife R2,100!!! I know hey, these are all 1992 rates or something, gosh, I'm so angry. Now I will see to it that HR does something about this "condition of employment" with this crap medical aid. Seriously!!!!!

But ke ya, I was just telling the VBAC ladies that there's no price limit for this birth. Just extremely infuriating to pay over R2,000 every month for such a useless thing...

Hi Ladies

WOW - everyone is getting very close now :silly: its the last stretch and it's great to hear everyone's stories/progress!!

Great Picture Snoekie - you are glowing!

Went for our 32 week scan yesterday and this little man of mine is a big boy  weighing in at 2.1kg's already!! Doctor is not worried, but that seems very big to me. What do you think??
She also prescribed something to me for heartburn (Altosec) which so far on my first day of taking it has worked wonders! I was beginning to forget what it felt like to live without heartburn...

SMA: what medical aid is that????? I cannot believe that they are giving you so many problems - I've had my authorization number for my c-section since I was 20 weeks and when I went into hospital at 16 weeks I was originally admitted to trauma - they got my authorization in 5 minutes flat...I'm stunned that they will not take care of you properly in an emergency

Juwayraj: I'm so glad that you're doing better now

Well i'm finishing work on 31st December (my company does not close down completely - there are still "skeleton" staff on over the Christmas period) then I am done until May! I am almost counting down the hours because this place is actually so stressful and no-one has any mercy. I am a supervisor and must take everyone else's crap aswell as my own so the "handover" has been a daunting task in itself.. will be so glad when its over because even though I've been blaming the pregnancy on my lack of sleep recently, I'm almost sure this place has something to do with it also :headbang:

Hope everyone has an awesome long weekend

Hey Ladies,
I too have been hectic busy at work... It is that time of year and that time of my pregnancy as well. So have to get everything ready before I leave as I will not be going back next year before baba arives!

Cherikey,
I really hope you manage to get yourself that bag you want!

Juwayraj,
I am sooo happy to hear that you and baba is doing well and that your sugar levels are stable! Look after yourself and babba, and follow the eating plan that you were given!!!

Anthea,
Get packing Girl!!!
Jippee for your parents ariving! Mine just left this week... They flew to Canada to go and visit my brother and his family for Christmas. They are only due to come back the day before my Due Date... on 15 January. I am really scared I go into labour before they are back... Will have to see what happens!

SMA,
It is rediculous that your work forces you to make use of a medical Aid that doesn't cater for your needs! And as far as emergency procedures go... No one is going to drive around to get aproval in an emergancy!!! Medical Aids really screw you over every chance they get!

Tracyo,
Sorry to hear that work is so hectic at the moment! Glad to hear you were able to sell the house. Don't over-do it with the packing! Take it easy, and Deligate!!

AFM,
No real complaints, I am 35 weeks. Heartburn seems to be picking up a bit. And I get these sharp pains that have me catching at my breath. babba loves kicking me in my side. My in-laws are coming to visit over Christmas, We will have to see how that goes, as I really don't have the energy to play hostess anymore, and my mother-in-law believes a wife should always stand ready for her husband, she should do all the cooking and cleaning. My house looks like a tornado blew through it all the time, just cause I don't have the energy to clean every day.
O well. we'll have to wait and see what happens!

Hello mommies :cheer:

Sorry I have been MIA but my work has been so hectic.... I am hoping this is my last midnight session :woohoo: :woohoo:

Anthea - good for you on posting your tummy :cheer: - I will definitely take a pic before our LG arrives - maybe I will post it (not sure if I have the courage though  )

juwayraj - I am so glad that you and baby are doing well!!!! I also finish up on the 20th - :woohoo: :woohoo: our maternity leave finally starts!!! It is always lekker to get gifts for the baby - enjoy I hope you are being spoilt rotten

Sma - lucky you finishing tomorrow!! :cheer: :cheer: I hope you get everything sorted with m/aid - they are so painful!!!

AFM... it is all work at the moment (day and night) but hopefully by the end of the week things will settle. My LG is lying so low it feels like she is sitting in my lap when I sit down - people cannot believe I still have 3 weeks to go  We have finally sold our house and we have found a new house - just the paperwork to sort out but we have already started packing - boxes everywhere  We also have one month with no-where to stay - I will probably take my LG and baby to my in-laws for the month (they live about 2 hours from CT in a small coastal town) :woohoo: :woohoo: real holiday :woohoo: other than the aches and pains I have been feeling pretty good - my hospital bag is mostly packed just need toiletries and nursing bra's and then I am ready for action!!

Have a happy rest of the week !!!!

I'm going on leave on Friday, hahaha can't wait to  and drive away...or be driven away, whichever one will apply..

LOL Anthea must I contact your high school friends and find out how many did things just cos your dared them  . I'll take it step by step, tomorrow I'll post a normal pic of my tummy, depending on the comments I'll see if I take it further :P

Am washing baby's things on Saturday, after my gynae visit, than packing on Sunday. Might go buy small items for my bag so it can also just stay packed. But I must buy some warm things for my baby, the way this weather can change, and I'm not a blankets person...

My medical aid is sooo irritating, they are still busy with my authorisation. I've alerted HR about how we are struggling with this backwards clueless scheme. This other day I was having cramps, now I have a cervical stitch, cramps mean run to the gynae, so that's what I did, it was an emergency, I've had preterm labour before, but the medical aid said "EVEN IF IT'S EMERGENCIES, YOU MUST ALWAYS GO TO THE DR FOR AUTHORISATION FIRST"....WHAT!!!!!!! Their Dr is 50 minutes away from me, the gynae is 20 minutes away, what if my cervix was opening up!!!!! They didn't refund me. Yet this scheme is a condition of employment for all management employees....would like to stab whoever decided that!!!!

Yes Anthea...I can't wait either. The best part is...tomorrow is our yearend function, Friday is always a lazy day at the office and most of the staff will be going on leave friday. Monday is a public holiday and we will only be returning to work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Thursday I have an appointment again...

I still haven't packed my things in the hospital bag yet...will have to get that behind me this weekend.

Sma...I hate driving over speed humps...feels like everything wants to fall out down there

Lekker daggie Mammas...
