Excited - Gongrats on the girl! :-) Don't panic, just relax, you really don't need all the things that they advertise you to need. You can get by with somewhere to bath baby, a place for baby to sleep some nappies, wetwipes and clothes. and possibly a 4 pack of towelling nappied for oopsies.

For the first few weeks of little K's life we spent the majority of the time in the lounge where i could doze between feeds. And I just had the nappies and wet wipes by on the floor there...

Yes its nice to have and buy the stuff, but entirely not necessary :-)

Monique - WOW two girls! Phew that is a real treasure!

Mamakwawa - Yes well we have the 4 in one crib, you know the one that turns into a bed in the end. Well umm the crib takes young world size linnen, which is a pain in the behind to find anywhere, can get a bale pack at babycity for about R650, but it has the duvet inner and cot bumper inner in it, which i already have... and my original bedding is pink. so i am kinda forced to pay someone to make it, or do it myself, which i am enjoying actually ;-). Forgot to take a pic last night though, we just got home waaay too late. Maybe tonight.

WOW girls, so very very quiet in here!!!

So over the weekend i started making new bedding for the crib, seeing as Little Timothy probably won't be too impressed if i leave the room pink...

The room is now going to be Red and Mint green... though i only atchieved the pillow case over the weekend i am mighty impressed with the outcome, i will have to take a photo and post it for you later :-)

I also managed to go the 3-6 month clothing collection... of which i ended up with two unisex baby grows and a vest... the rest was far too girly for DH's liking... lol... and even then my first was a summer baby and this one will be a winter baby... :-( But two of my colleagues with baby girls were very happy to receive a bag of clothes each :-)

Niki - any progress with the Doula?

Cols i know! and we kept the nursery the same... so much pink... need new bedding, a new cover for the nuring chair from tree house, new curtains... argh!!!

Sorry about the funeral, seems the time of the year for it, we went to one last saturday, it was supposed to be outside under the trees, but it was so rainy that it was moved inside.

16 weeks is a little eary for movement though, hopefully you will feel it soon! And ENJOY your scan today... if its any consolation after the troubles we had last year i was so so battling to accept that i am really pregnant, it just didn't seem real... the creche techer asked me yesterday when i dropped why i didn't look excited about the appointment later... But i think it is starting to sink in now.

MamakaWawa - Congrats, glad the appointment went well

Niki - Thanks!!! (Cant wait to go get something blue.... maybe then it will sink in) Good luck choosing a doula! One of my friends moms is a Doula at genesis! :-)

Hi Ladies,

sorry I haven't been on in a while. Kerry congrats on having a little boy, very exciting- now you can go out and buy some blue :)

Cols, fingers crossed it is a little girl, sorry about the funeral, that's a pretty crap way to start the weekend.

Mamakawawa, congrats on making it this far, I remember having that pain on my pubic bone with my first, thinks it quite normal, try not to make sudden movements, I find I get cramps in my stomach if I stand too quickly etc, its form all the ligaments loosening, getting ready to birth baba :)

Zazi good luck finding out he gender at the next app

AFM- All is well, Midwife said I had the start of a mild bladder infection, so upped the water in take and cranberry juice, but I feel fine, we are going to start interviewing Doula's next week and will hopefully make a pick from the 3 we have shortlisted. I am trying to exercise a bit more and be good with eating, I put on far too much weight during my last pregnancy and just lost most of it before I fell pregnant, so trying to stay within a healthy range.

well have a lovely weekend, chat soon
