Hi Ladies!
Oh WOW Trudie, what a beautiful pic, so clear hey!! I must say, all babies on these $D scans look the same to me, so it'll be interesting to see if we compare pics how the babies differ! What is the best time to go for the 4D? I was thinking of it this morning and wondering if I should book us one. But after looking at this pic of little Jade, I most definitely want to!
Urgh, dont even get me started on the weight gain... I dont even want to think about it! At 23 weeks at my gynae (on his scale) I picked up 10kg already!! On my scale and at the gym its more like 8/9kg.. ok ok, its only 1kg, but every 1k makes a difference right?! haha! Havent weighed again since. Too scared! But my husband also said to me last night that my belly really grew the last week. I can feel it too.
About the hypnobirthing class.. Its our 2nd class tonight. I must say, I went into it not knowing what to expect and also dragging my poor husband there who might think we will all be sitting in a circle singing kumbaja.. hahaha! 2h30mins is the duration of a class. So its a long night if you're not really into what theyre teaching. But both of us came out of it really excited to attend the next class. It was SO informative. Very interesting. Even my husband said afterwards he concentrated all the way through and found all the info very helpfull and interesting.
It's not at all something that's gonna hypnotise you, the name creates much more confusion. It's all about techniques to help you relax and stay calm. They teach you in detail what happens during contractions, how certain muscles contracts, which in turn makes the cervix muscles dilate and how the contraction the pushes the baby down into the pelvis.
Also as I said, they will teach us techniques to relax and breathe and in turn our bodies can do what it's supposed to. Stress = tension = pain. I think it's a good course for anyone, even if you are planning a C-section. You can use these techniques everywhere and in any situation. even with breast feeding.
Whats also great is that there is a clear role for the dad. They teach him some stuff too for when it's labour day. He acts as your "project manager"

haha! So it makes them feel as if they have an important role too.
It's so funny how when we do these relaxation excercises, the babies start moving and kicking. Exactly how they kick when we finally get into bed at night. it's so weird and cute at the same time.
Anyway, what a mouthful!! We'll see what tonight will hold, tonight's class is about "bonding with your baby" or something about that.
