AUGUST 2014 BABIES!

HELLO EVERYBODY!!

Sorry for being so quiet, been so busy at work and trying to sort everything out before baby comes! Went for my scan last Thursday and baby is weighing in at 1.3kgs!! when doctor was busy with the scan, baby was busy yawning! so cute and really amazing to see! he moves around so much and he is already in routine. I get up so many times a night to go and wee and he doesnt wake up BUT as soon as my alarm goes off(alarm isnt loud) in the morning he starts moving! on weekends he is a real lazy bum, coz we wake up a lil later and he only moves around a little. I actually was worried on Saturday coz i hadnt felt him move properly the whole morning, only a nudge here and there, almost forced my fiance' to stop at the closest hospital so i could check if all is ok ..... Then at about 9'ish he was wiggling around.

Sent in my agreement form to Mom's UIF assist this morning, so just waiting for them to get back to me and saturday 31st May we going for the 4D scan really really excited for that!

Wanted to know, in your ladies' opinon what is the best formula on the market? I plan on breastfeeding for as long as possible but just wanted to know as a friend of mine's baby was born a month prem and they put him on "Nan" and baby was feeding every hour and he was so restless. She took him to a different paedetrician and they change him over to S26 and he is doing much better. So i was just wondering what you ladies have to say!?

Yes you can still claim maternity from UIF even if you resign from your job. You can claim for up to 4 months, depending on how long you've been paying uif contributions. I'm not sure of exact payout, it's a percentage of your salary. I recommend using mom's uif assist, they are a company who does all the claiming on your behalf. You pay them a once-off fee and they do the work for you. Well worth it! I used them with my first pregnancy in Cape Town. I also resigned from my job back then and still got paid out (only time you can claim uif when resigning is when you have a baby).

My due date is 21 August somewhere around there but probably have csection on 8th August.

Wanted to find out - do I still get maternity benefits if I have resigned from my job? Just wanted to find out what sort of payment I will get, if any.
