Hey newmummy - welcome
I was also quite nervous as the weeks came closer to my due date with my first. It's totally normal. Just keep remembering how much a natural delivery means to you and strive for it if you really want it. You could always do a hypnobirthing course if you're keen to try something like that. Book a doula to help you?
My best tip for you is sit down with your husband or partner now already and discuss your preferences regarding the birth. Once I was in hospital, my birth plan went totally out of the window even though I had 2 copies of it in my bag. If I had adamantly told my hubby before hand what I wanted then he would have made sure it all happened for me but I was tired, weak and hungry and just listened to the doctors so ended up having an emergency csection because they induced me and gave my epidural too early.
Just stick to your guns - if you want a natural - do everything you can to make sure it happens. It's all good and well knowing what you want but when you actually get to hospital, somehow you give your trust over to the doctors and nurses and you don't fight for what you want - well that my was case anyway.
After baby arrives, things normally just fall into place. It is the most amazing time ever - nobody can explain that until they've actually been through it. The moment you see your baba for the first time, life changes in the split second - indescribable. Being in hospital is actually fab - well I thought so. You have the support of the nursery staff, people come and visit you, baby is always with you, it's just gorgeous.
I'm opting for a private room this time but it's a personal choice. Many moms like to have other moms in the room with them. I had one mom with me and she was fab but her husband was most irritating

So I'm going to ask for a private room this time and hope there is one available for me.
Oh, another tip - use the lactation consultant! Call them to come to your bed if they don't come everyday. If your nipples crack and bleed, ask for the physio to come in and laser you right away in hospital. I didn't know about laser and suffered with broken nipples and then ended up giving in and going with formula. Thought I could change back to breast after a few days of formula while boobs healed but baby wouldn't latch after that.
Sorry for the long post ladies - you know me
Lots of love
