Hi gloei.

We chose to do the vaccinations. Wasn't too bad. Hubby held him and I looked away. Luckily boob makes everything better.
Cranio seems to be helping. He is definitely drinking better, cramping less and overall happier. So glad.
Shame our poor boy has a horrible cold. He is Snotty and sneezing all day. He gets so frustrated because he can't breathe nicely. His nasal cavity is full of thick mucous I feel so sorry for him. Using saline spray and the nasal aspirator and breastmilk. But he just cries and the more he cries, the more he swallow snot and then gets nauseous. I hope he gets better soon. worried it gets worse.

Hope everyone is surviving in the cold.

RonelleB - I think I will start a thread about it here on Moomie. I just don't want it too sound like doom and gloom and as if I am sharing my horror story to scare the living daylights out of the pregnant ladies who would love to go the natural route. But I find it interesting that I have never heard of this (especially since it is so prevalent according to the internet and doctors). I think if one at least knows this could happen one can't be angry at yourself (or care givers) for choosing the birth choice you have chosen, knowing the full spectrum of the pro's and con's like you have said.

Hope the in-laws are treating you well and offering to do dishes and laundry if needed!!

About the bleeding I was bleeding until 6 weeks. The longest AF ever.
But do check it out, especially since you still have pain. What I have learned now is not to just discard symptoms - trust your gut instinct.

A Winter baby is no fun!!! My older LG was also a winter baby....When I found out second time round that this baby will also be a winter baby...both hubby and I said "Oh no!!!". Nothing cozy about breastfeeding in winter.

So glad you are feeling better with the PND!!! The bonding takes time - be gentle, kind and patient to yourself. Your whole world has been turned upside down. xx

Faffymum - I am getting my first domestic helper tomorrow in 6 months!! I hope she is eager to work...Really feel for you, I just can't cope doing it all myself anymore, especially with the prolapse.

I really hope the CS therapist sessions help. YOur rough night sounds INSANE!!!

About the Vacs, personally I choose to do them. Hate it when LO one cries so much and you have to hold them down.

Newbiemom - So glad you can give buscopan, it must be so frustrating to just watch baby cry knowing you have done everything in your power. I truly hope it will pass soon...You are such an inspiration with your positive attitude towards challenges - keep it up!!

Anyone else with babies with long and lots of hair on ears??? So cute these mini "wolverine" ears...apparently it falls out within the first year. Otherwise we might have to wax before school starts...he hehe.

Anyone else with a hectic looking sore from the BCG vaccination given at birth??? Ours is looking very swolen and red and will erupt with puss soon. The sister said it is all normal. Hectic though. My first LG didn't have it like this.

I have also had a looot of comments about needing to use formula. Esp when lg cries because of colic and people ALWAYS say - im sure your baby is hungry and not getting enough thats why shes crying. whatever

Faffy. Dont worry. I felt the same when my lb was born 5yrs ago. Like i was suddenly a different person and had to get to know myself. Thats so normal and you are still the same person but yiu have a new role... and its a huge role. You will grow into all of it. One day at a time.
as for the vaccs. I hate them. I understand why they are needed, my friend sent me a very good explanation which i have on whatsapp so if u want me to forward to u pls send me ur nr on facebook. I let my jids have them because they MUST have them to be allowed into school but i think if we werent forced in that way i would seriously reconsider letting them have it

Sho Ja we ordered food last night. No a fan Of ordering take aways but our kitchen needs some serious attention. I really envy those who have a domestic helper.

Gloei glad your daughter is loving her new sister. That will make things so much better.

I pumped out 90 ml the last two days. And I could have gotten more. I only pumped 5 mins a side! Think this is good practice for when I go back to work.

RonelleB I also have some slight bleeding still. But fading away fast now. I don't have abdominal pain but I guess that will slowly disappear over time.
My little one has also outgrown his newborn clothes and I can see how one or two of his 0-3 months baby grows will also not fit soon. He has long legs for some. Taking him to his 6 weeks check up on Thursday. Can't wait. I agree, winter is horrible for a small baby and breastfeeding mom. Brrr! !! I have my gown near by at all times.

I took my boy toand cranio sacral therapist this weekend. She was really good with him and she said because of his birth, he had a lot of stored up adrenaline that he wasn't able to release since we had a c section. Also that he was sitting in position for som long in the womb and didn't get straightened out through natural birth. Anyways, he was very calm after the session...but that night, oh my word, he let it out. He screamed and cried like a baby in serious pain. Nothing helped him calm. Was intense. She said he would start to release the pent up adrenaline to recover.

The therapist also told us, in her opinion, vaccinations cause more problems than good. I am curious to see what your opinions of vaccination are? She also said, we should at least wait until his immune system is stronger when he is a few months older.

Having a mo to myself so thought I'd update a bit...

Gloei_ I am still in shock re thr POP and your gynae. My gynea gave me a proper lecture on both normal and c sec and made me sign a disclaimer stating that he discussed the procedure as well as pros, cons and risks. I also feel so sorry that you have to suffer the pain discomfort etc. I must admit have not read up on the condition yet...will do so in the hope to learn more and spread awareness. Perhaps you need to start a forum group here with that as heading so as to raise awareness? Glad to hear your family is coming together nicely now with your girls bonding

Nelsn_ hats off to you for not killing the mother making those nasty comments! Water off the duck's back..and a couple of deep breaths girl! Glad K is doing so well, you can be proud!

Newbie_ colic is no joke...sjo. I complain about struggles with cramping and winds but I think it is small change when I think about having a colic baby. Be strong, hope hubby helps and supports you.

Faffy_ growth spurts are a challenge too. I can't even tell when they start and end anymore. Just riding the wave every day. And trust your body! It will know how to care for your boy best

Laila is still growing at a good rate, she's already 3cm taller than her birth length. It's amazing how we have to pack away some clothes thats already too small, having worn it maybe once only and it fitted last week but not today! I think things have improved on the cramps and winds side..but let me not talk too soon tsk tsk.

I am much better on the PND front...having moments here and there but better overall. I am just relieved that this improvement has helped with the bonding between us. I am concerned though on another front (and perhaps tmi so forgive!), as I have not stopped bleeding since Laila's birth. This coming week it will be 6 weeks. On top of still having pain in my abdomen I am worried. Will clear it with gynae during my app, hopefully its all normal and I am fretting over nothing.

Oh, and my in laws are arriving frm CPT tomorrow...meeting Laila for first time. Mmm....

Oh and there I was thinking winter would be ideal for having a baby...warm snuggles etc...SURPRISE!!! the cold is horrible! Getting up for feeds in the cold at night and freezing no matter where you go in the house is sooo not nice. What do you girls do to keep warm?

The pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a risk to woman having mainly a natural delivery, so it had nothing to do with the fact that I had a VBAC, it is because I had a vaginal birth. It does occur in women who had a c-section, but it is much much more common after natural childbirth. Sometimes it shows up shortly after birth (like in my case a week), first weeks or months but sometimes only after a number of years. Although there seems to be a link to length of labour and size of baby it also occurs quite commonly in young fit woman who had an easy labour. So many woman who had gentle birth experiences still suffered prolapse, so it seems like a complex situation that might lead to POP happening.

I canceled my physio appointment but have a new one scheduled in a week and a half, will let you know how it went.

Nelsn, thank you for your prayers, prayer is what have kept me going through the dark days. You have the cleaning schedule waxed!! Our standards to clean has dropped significantly...All my freezer meals are slowly coming to an end. I have managed to make a big pot of stew and soup that will hopefully save the day a couple of times.

My LG is has fallen in love with her little baby sister. We are so relieved. She just needed a bit of time to realise we still love her and that the sky has not fallen on its head. She helps out and plays so nicely with her little sister. Only complaint now is that she wishes for her sister to grow up faster so that they can play dolls together.

Faffymum - It is good to cry it all out (for mom not baby...he hehe). I also had a bit of a breakdown earlier this week. I felt a lot better the next day. Better "out than in" is what I say. So glad that last night was better, I hope you will be having more of those soon. LOL about the dogs....sounds familiar, poor four legged children suffer without the usual TLC.
