Hi Ladies!!
Nelsn - Hope you are doing well. Turns out my Gynea (that I saw in the first and second trimester) is also an urogynecologist...which means he specialises in pelvic floor dysfunction. When I asked him why he didn't say anything about the pelvic organ prolapse or the risk is around 30 - 50% when I enquired about the risks of a VBAC versus another C-section, he answered that the medical consensus is NOT to tell woman while pregnant otherwise it will further increase the c-section rate...I can't believe that caretakers do not put all the risks out on the table so that woman can at least know what they are getting into. Frankly I regret having the natural birth, the birth itself was amazing and very special but the price I am going to pay for the rest of my life is simply not worth "having an amazing birth experience". I am eternally grateful for my LG but I can't help but to think that with a c-section I would have had all my lady parts in full working order (and the other important organs too...).
Faffymum - Glad to hear from you too!! I was getting worried because you are so quiet. I am hoping for a miracle too, but if what other people share on the internet about prolapse is correct, I am in for a challenge for the rest of my life. It is hard to accept in this day and age with medical advances that there is still very little of a solution that works for everyone with prolapse.
Ditto on the house becoming unlivable!! You can only leave it for so long...
So glad you are taking the Eglynol - for me it was a lifesaver for milk production and the PND. I promise things will get better and if you feel it doesn't please don't wait to get more help!! Baby is getting a lot more easier for us now at 8 weeks, she sleeps longer stretches at night, less cramps and windiness (almost nothing) and the breastfeeding is not as painful as before. I trust that things will hopefully ease for you too in a couple of weeks - just stay strong in the mean time and know that this will not "be the rest of your life". I remember feeling that it is a maze of never ending feeding, burping, diapering, rocking cycle - thought that I would never have a "life" again. With time things really got easier, granted certain things became more challenging, but for me there was an upward curve. As for feeling angry, don't beat yourself up about it, you are not a bad mom. Perhaps you are more angry and frustrated about the situation rather than your LB. Sleep deprivation is hectic and keep the perspective that we are not thinking straight with our current state of fatigue. If you however really feel as if you might hurt your baby, please don't wait to speak to someone as PND can cause you to feel this way. Bonding with baby took very long for me the first time too and I had so much guilt about it. Looking back now I know it was fine, and we formed a deep bond as time passed. Be kind to yourself in this challenging time, you are doing amazing although it feels as you might be sinking.
The topup sounds great. The growth spurts sucks big time. Excuse the pun. after the 6 weeks one I think it is a while for the next one at least. I don't express a lot either, sometimes 20 ml too.
Let us know about the Cranio therapist, don't know the difference between the two?!
Newbiemom, hope there is some relief for the Colic?? Thinking of you - Colic is very very tough.
RonelleB - Hope you are taking care of yourself and staying afloat. Please let us know if you need to "unload" here. Lots of ladies who have gone through the same thing that might be able to support or just listen. xx
Keep well ladies. xx
