Ah wow!! So glad everything is fine (apart from the bladder infection)!!
Hooray for no more progesterone!!!!!!

A boy!! Ag wow, 2 little brothers, they are going to have so much fun together! Your boy made an accurate prediction, wonder if my girl will be right that it will be a girl...

Did the doctor give you anything for the bladder infection or the cold?

Starreyed@ a gentle csection is one that is not rushed. It will take longer than a normal csection. You have dimmed light, quiet or music , delayed cord clamping, after the gynea opens you they drop the curtain and let baby come out gently unlike the rushed nudging etc. You see baby come out then they put baby on skin to skin while the gynea is stiching you up. Baby is left on skin to skin as long as possible then examined in front of you (you can start breastfeeding before or after exam), then brought back to skin to skin while you are wheeled to the recovery.

Thanks ladies!! I am struggling big time with all the work :( But today is Friday and I am looking forward to sleeping in and doing some touristy things tomorrow... then I will start packing eeeek! So excited!!

Gloei- After your post about the fetal Doppler... I mentioned it to my husband and the very next message I got was prices and where we can get one... he is so excited! :) Glad you are feeling better and got a good nights sleep. Hope you continue to improve.

Newbie mom- I am so excited to hear how your scan goes. I really hope you feel better. It so strange coz I was also feeling so much better and then last night I started throwing up. It was awful!

Nels_n- So glad you liked your doula and that the govt hospital was clean. The work has been hectic... doing lab work and trying to figure out which lab work I can and cannot do has been crazy! We are also planning field work for when I get back... my Swedish collaborators are coming down soon after I leave... no rest for me. :( I prefer being active and doing field work so I am sure I will manage that better than I am managing the lab work. I think the sleep issues I am having are just making it harder... I feel like a truck ran over me... on my best days. Field work will fit in with my sleep patterns coz that starts early hours of the morning and finishes at lunch time so I will be able to nap in the afternoons. :)

I have a question... I guess its directed to all of you... what is a natural/ gentle C-section? I didn't know there were different types and I guess I will need to know in case my plans for natural do not work out...

I am just so excited... in a weeks time at 1330... we are going for our first scan. Cannot wait to see our sweet poppit... may help me put up with all the negative things about pregnancy. :) I am writing a list of things to ask the doctor... do you have any suggestions?

23Aug2014 - First positive test of my first pregnancy (4weeks & 3 days) :)

Hi Ladies,

Thank you for the prayers Nels! I am feeling much better today, slept very well last night. I am hopeful that things will stay this way.

I am so happy to hear about the wonderful appointment you had with the doula (4 hours - wow!). It really seems as if your plans are beginning to fall into place. The GOVT hospital sounds great! If you are not far from a hospital, I can totally understand why you would consider a home birth! So exciting!!! My hubby also said that if it comes to that we would rather opt for a "natural c-section" unlike the one I had last time.

StarryEyed, good luck with the last stretch of work!!

Morning ladies
newbiemom@ im so sorry to hear that. Were you able to sleep at all last night. Please let us know how the app went. Hoping for a better day for you. Starreyed@ how has work been lately? Just 1 week till you fly home. Gloie@ praying for a headache and nausea free day for you today. I went to see the doula yesterday and she is very nice. We chatted for almost 4hrs . She also helps moms who want to do hypnobirthing. Im meeting the midwife on tuesday and hoping she is as good with ppl as the doula. Yesterday I ended up going to my closest Gov maternity ward/clinic because the doula worked there before (and said she prefers that hospital than the other 2) and my sons school aftercare teacher said she had both her pregnancies antenatal and 1 birth there and was very impressed. It was CLEAN, even dh was shocked. At the labour ward there was only 2 patients and it was Clean. To the point where the floor shines shockingly. They have scans for each checkup. We have gotten to the point where even my husband now prefers a home birth (he suggested it on the day i came back to the Dr) as he is worried i might end up with another csection thats not needed. I did not have complications with my first pregnancy and so far nothing with this one(his words) so he doesnt see why i cant birth at home. And if need be that i need a hospital the clostest one is the Gov one we saw yesterday (they are also busy revamping it) and i can have a gentle csection.
So will find out soon how that goes. Newbie you have had a homebirth how was your experience and do you register baby at homeaffairs etc.?
