Newbiemom@ great to know you also have had great experience with the public health system. I was even shocked that you get a vaccination to prevent lock jaw. Hope your boys get better and the renovations go faster so you can have your space back.
Starreyed@ cant wait to hear about your scan. Praying for a sickness free flight and get some rest.

Today i went to see the new gynea i was referred to by another Cptowm midwife and she was awesome. She is happy to be my midwife and use my choice of hospital which makes me even happier. I was so sick yesterday due to the insomnia that i ended up throwing as my body just couldnt function so i didnt go anywhere and had to try and entertain my son which made it worse. So we have rescheduled with the other midwife.

WOO HOO hello everyone I am 11 weeks preggers and I am a first timer. Super excited but super stressed as well. Sho I am getting married 1st November, then going on honeymoon....AND now I am preggers...life is hectic! My second scan is next Friday and I can't wait! I just want to see that everything is still going ok. I have been looking around at hospitals and such. I found out that my medical aid only covers half of my gynecologist (Dr Richardson at Vincent Pallotti). Now I am panicking about the hospital fees! I am with MediHelp dimension 1. Any suggestions for which hospital to go so that I don't have to pay half the bills!!!??? eeeeeeekkkkk.

Newbiemom, I am so sorry to hear about everyone being sick! Sounds like a challenging time - especially now with the renovations!! Glad to hear the bladder infection isn't causing too much discomfort.

I have been feeling so much better that I managed to start my Pilates routine again yesterday and today!! I am only doing a 20 min session for now to get back into things, so scared to tear one of my stomach muscles.
But wow, I am so grateful to get back to my normal routine!!

Nels - I have to admit I also love the public health system. The waiting is probably the only dow side, but ive always received excellent care and support. So happy that you are happy with them!

Gloei - happy for you that you are feeling better!! Sorry to hear about everyone not sleeping well.... ai! We are being prepared for our babies

Im also up at night but only because my lb and hubby are both sick now. Both on antibiotics and booked off till monday, so it should be going better soon.
I am still a bit nauseous throughout the day, but not as overwhelming anymore, can definitely say that it is getting better!
I dont know if the bladder infection is gone yet...? Its not getting worse... and I didnt even know I had it in the first place. Asked dr of I should have it tested agai and he said he will check in a month so he wasnt concerned at all... maybe it wasnt that serious?

Would love to take a nap now. Our house being fixed up.. ceilings replaced etc, so we have moved in with friends for the week. Massive clean up on friday and sat as they dumped everything in the lounge and there is a thick layer of dust on everything in that house, even in all the cupboards... oh boy. Thats the weekends problem...

Nelsn - Ahh no, it seems we are all going through the same stages, I was awake last night from 2:00 (and the previous night)! I know it sounds strange but the baby was tickling me a lot! I am suspecting this is going to be a busy baby...(my husband has ADHD - lets hope this is not a first sign!).

Wow Nelsn, I am so thrilled to hear about the clinic!! It sounds totally awesome. It seems as if you will be in very good hands and like minded people! So glad for you.

I haven't had a migraine since saturday - so relieved! The nausea is really better and I am feeling more energetic - hooray for the second trimester!!

StarryEyed, Sorry to hear your insomnia and nausea is getting worse. I can totally understand that you are not looking forward to the flight. Will be thinking about you!!

Don't worry to much about the birthplan etc, you still have loads of time left! You are welcome to ask as many questions as you wish.

Newbie mom- how are you? Everything ok?

Nels_n- I can completely feel your pain!! I hope your insomnia goes away.

I am learning so much from all of you ladies... I feel like I am so unprepared... I do not have a birth plan or any idea of what is happening yet... Really looking forward to Friday. Starting to get very nervous and excited! I am just praying everything is ok with our little Sproglet!

So it's only one more sleep until I get on the plane. Very nervous for the flight... My nausea has gotten worse the insomnia has gotten worse but I think that is partly because I am excited to go home. Might not get a chance to post until next week... Will try post an update after our appointment on Friday afternoon. Hope you all have a good week xxxxx

I seem to be suffering with insomnia , just cant sleep. Hence typing at this hour.
How are you doing , hope you are all better.

Starreyed how is the packing going? I seem to have joined you in the insomnia dept. Just a few more days till you fly home.
Today i went to the public clinic for my antenatal and boy was I impressed. Apart from a lick of paint here and there the rooms were spotless, the cleaners are ALWAYS cleaning.
I arrived at 6am and left at 2:30pm though but they open at 7am so wanted to make sure i was in and not waste my morning. As much as i was there for a while so much was done. All nurses and midwives did their job with care and didnt mind being asked questions. You are taught the importance of breastfeeding to hiv , signs of labour, what you should eat etc. The antenatal rooms are private and everything was done with care. I was impressed. They drum the importance of skin to skin too. It seems the only way of getting a better chance of a vbac is via public care this time around. Will be refered to a Dr from 34weeks to discuss my birth plan which seems to be more welcomed at the public hospital than private so far.
