Babies April 2015

Gloei- that is so exciting!! Cannot wait to feel my baby move. They do say online that if its your second pregnancy, you know what it feels like so you are more likely to feel it sooner.

I was worried about a bladder infection but I don't think I do... I am absolutely fine during the day... its just at night that I am going so often... and if I don't need to go then I wake up all uncomfortable and have to try and get comfortable... its so awful! I am drinking a lot but I think I need it coz I do feel thirsty so I don't really want to cut down on fluid intake in the evenings. I will see what happens over the next few days... it was really bad last night but maybe it was just a fluke.

I am so sad I am missing National Braai day! But I am so excited coz in 15 days I will be starting my journey back home to sunny SA! Yay!

Nels_n - so funny to hear about Gate!!! They say the craziest things sometimes. I can't remember my LG's name suggestion, but it was equally bizarre. Great to hear that the nausea is better today, let's hope it is about to clear up!!!

On the building...we are saving up to extend our home too. We kind of don't have a room for the new baby. Will probably start building if baby is 6 months old or so.

Newbiemom - how many weeks of the progesterone for you still left?

I am finding having to cook meals the hardest part. I am normally extremely passionate about cooking but now I would prefer to eat just bread if I could just live on that. I have purchased a few woolies meals so far to help out, but ouch it is expensive and doesn't really taste great either.

StarryEyed - we will also be finding out the sex. If it is a boy I can get rid of the bags and bags of girls clothing in our garage and make some space for nappies!! (Although I have this crazy idea to look into cloth nappies). Going to the loo every hour? Sure you don't have a bladder infection? I have to go once during the night.

I had a migraine again yesterday, it wasn't fun as my LG couldn't go to school since there is no-one that could fetch her again (can't drive with a migraine). I felt so depressed and powerless yesterday, it is hard to be only lie down in a dark room and care for a bored 5 year old. Needless to say she watched an entire season of Mr. Maker! After 7 hours of watching Mr. Maker she made the coolest chameleon with arts and craft scraps.

I didn't want to say anything, but I think I felt the baby last week. To me it seems to early, but it felt EXACTLY like it felt with my first. Eversince I have read on google that some women feel with their second pregnancies as soon as 10 weeks. I am a bit skeptical about this, but keep wondering if I will feel it again!? Perhaps it was just my imagination, but I was caught by surprised when it happened.

Newbiemom@ we are building on cash because getting a building loan would have been a schlep (I worked at a bank before and the building loan requirements ard ridiculous) so we saved as much as we could. One of the best things we did was buy building material mid year as then uts cheaper, once december comes a single brick increases between 50c and R1 at some places. We bought most of the bricks\blocks directly from the wholesaler (wholesaler R6 , build it R7-8 a block).
finding a reliable builder can also be tricky especially if you are building via a bank loan.

My advice when it comes to loans (building, bond or vehicle) is to try find the finance yourself if possible. Go to all the major banks and submit your applications, find out which one gas given you the lowest rate and negotiate with the other bank\s to go lower than the lowest interest rate that you have. That way you get the best possible rate.

So sweet that the siblings are hoping for certain sexes and picking out names!! Very cute! I can see it might be problematic should the wrong sex appear or their name isn't chosen... Hopefully they take it in their stride

Are you going to find out the sex or leave it as a surprise?

This is our first so I think we are going to find out the sex... we need to have a serious conversation about that when I get home, as I don't want hubby to feel left out of the decision. I feel like just having a baby will be enough of a surprise for my system haha.

I am also still battling with nausea... acupressure bands help, but don't get rid of it completely. Hoping it improves soon. I am struggling to sleep now... for some reason my bladder is fine during the day but when I sleep it wants to go every hour... so maddening!!

Are you guys building a brickhouse? We want to build soon, but with sandbag construction. Just not sure about the loan process, banks dont seem too eager to give loans for building... may I ask who you worked through?

Im doing well, same old with the nausea, but I suppose you start getting used to it coz I have it all the time but doesnt seem to be such a major big deal anymore.

my house is still chaotic (long way to go), but today has been a good day, hardly any nausea which is great.

Starreyed@ I haven't had any baby dreams lately, but also don't have any inkling of what the gender could be. I'm glad your presentation went well, 2 weeks and you home.

When we told our son he will be having a sibling he was adamant he it will be a boy cause that is what HE wants and the his name will be Gate!
Don't worry I'm confused too. All I gathered from the name gate is that this poor new family member will be my sons gate to freedom because everything naughty that he will do will be the baby's fault

How was the weekend? Mine was very busy and long, I'm so tired and again so nauseous this morning - thought the meds are really working over the weekend.

Gloei - I'm drinking Asic and zofran for the nausea.

I haven't had any dreams yet, sounds awesome to have such a nice dream
