Hi ladies!

Congrats to all the new mommies! Have been checking in here regularly, just not replying.

Today, my baby boy is a whole MONTH old!! He has been keeping me super busy...he is extremely alert and has started cooing and making faces when I talk to him. Been struggling to get him to sleep during the day the past few days and as a result I get nothing else done. TIRED!! But enjoying being a mama.

For our records, baby boy's name is Charl, which means 'warrior'. He is named after my husband's grandfather.

Good luck for the pyjama drill and such! And to the mommies who still have to give birth!

Hi ladies

I gave birth to my beautiful daughter yesterday, she weighed 3,25 nd her name is Pheladi.

I gave birth naturally at genesis clinic, first night was hectic bt my mom is here to help bt I think her help is starting to overwhelm me, I appreciate it and couldn't survive without it bt I feel like she should remember that I am the mother, she wants to do everything. Anyway that was my quick update

Hope u ladies r good

Congrats Mommy4 & Berry on your bundles of joy.

@ Berry so sorry to hear you in so much pain, what DieSwartKat is so true about moving around and after the 2nd day it does get better...and do ask for pain meds when u need them. Hope you precious girl makes it out of NICU soon!

My lil girls name is Tadiwa ( Shona-We've been loved by God) her birth weight was 3.3 kgs. Birth story to follow as soon as I can sorry for the snippets.

yay berry! Well done and congrats on your beautiful baby.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the delivery you were hoping for, but i'm sure the fact that your baby girl is here is the only thing that counts now. Delivering a 4kg baby would've been very traumatic on your body too i suppose?

I know you're in a lot of pain, a c-section is not a light surgery. I've done it twice and i can tell you that 24 hours after delivery is the worst pain you'll experience. I.e the 2nd day in hospital is the worst, thereafter it gets better every day. Keep moving, stand a lot, the moment you lay down on the bed your muscles become cold and the stiffness and soreness returns. You'll feel a burning sensation in your wound that can be very intense, as soon as you start feeling a burning feeling ask for pain medication. Make sure your hospital bed is not too high, otherwise you'll battle to get on and off. Your body is amazing, you will quickly adapt to doing everything without your abdominal muscles (and be amazed and how much you actually use it in normal life without knowing).

Hope that your little one is out of nicu soon, it was a pretty traumatizing experience for us and don't ever want to go back there!
