file LADIES DUE SEPTEMBER 2015 :-)

Hi Ladies...
DieSwartKat I took him for his vaccine. The Doc said he wants to give it to him at 8 weeks and not 6 because it gives him more time to get antibodies to develop and he wants his weight to be 4kg and more. He's 3.75kg at the moment...
So baby has breastfeeding jaundice and doc did say it would go away. His eyes were slightly yellow but not bad. So we let it be. On Friday Doc saw that his eyes cleared a lot but the corners were still slightly yellow. This morning he called me and said he wants me to come in. He said he wants to do bloods to rule everything out even tho in his mind he knows there's nothing to be concerned about he would rather be safe than sorry. So my boy had bloods drawn this morning. I had to wait outside as they wouldn't let me go In with him. I have to say I was devastated. I feel like I'm still recovering. He cried so much and I couldn't do anything: it was so traumatic guys. I could not handle it!! My poor son. When I went in to take him he looked at me and was moaning to say "mummy these people hurt me" I could of died...
He's sleeping at the moment going on 4 hours. I don't know if I should wake him up for a feed?

TCS,

The 6-week one is the easiest, they're still to little to really understand and it's over very quickly. We had no side-effects, no fever or anything like that. They cry a bit because it stings, but it's over very quickly. Definitely worse for the mom than the baby!

Hi DieSwartKat,
It's better than it was. Had an odd day but what I do is, I let him fall asleep on me then put him on a fleecy blanket next to me on the couch. If I put him in cot, he's up... So he gets a good sleep on the couch for some odd reason. I also tried the white noise. Didn't work...

At night he is sleeping well. New pattern this week, he sleeps around 9 for 4 -5 hours or so. Wakes up around 2am. Drinks his milk then goes back to sleep and wakes up every 2 hours thereafter.. He is also drinking a lot more now. I expressed milk. The normal 90ml. Hubby fed him, but he was still hungry! He drank of me for a while....

TCS, how's the day-routine going? Is he sleeping?

I'm in a similar situation now, as of last week he's barely sleeping in the day. In the day he feeds every 3 hours, he'll fall asleep quite easily after a feed, but when I put him down in his cot he either wakes up straight away, or sleeps but wakes up within 30 minutes. And then I basically sit with him in my arms for 2.5hours until the next feed. He's not crying or difficult, but I can't put him down and it's killing me. It looks to me like he can't go from a light sleep into a deep sleep, and I don't know what to do! I've checked that the nursery is a comfortable temperature, he's got a clean nappy, a full tummy, I swaddle him AND I put on white noise. But I have no luck! What are you trying?

Hi ladies....
@Vendah I feel your pain too. However I agree with DieSwartKat, i would draw the line somewhere. In my culture we also go home to mums for a month but I didn't: mum came to me for a week then went home. She only bathed baby for me for the week cos I was scared and I did everything else. My mum cooked and entertained visitors. She was so amazing and I wanted her to stay longer but she said no I need to bond with hubby and baby lol! In hindsight she was right.

Perhaps you should consider going back home earlier? You can always say hubby wants you home cos he is missing you and baby to much!
Also I think you must refuse do anything you don't want to. Eg giving baby water. If you're not comfortable doing it , politely tell your mum you don't want to. I also think that at night you should sleeping next to baby. Not mum...

Just have a heart to heart with her and politely start taking over. When she comes to take baby , just say one sec mum, I'm burping her ...

On my side, all is good... He sleeps for 5-6 hours at night then Wakes up for a feed then wakes up after about 2-3 hours again...
Guys motherhood is so amazing!!! I love my boy soooo Much. I didn't even think it was possible to feel this way... It's so overwhelming and a mothers love is so so powerful!
This week he will go for his 6 week vaccinations. I'm so worried he is Gona get feverish and fuss etc
