Thanks Dieswartkat.. I might as well get the bottles now then. I got the steamer as a gift at the baby shower.
I will look into that breaatpump. The Avent electric is break the bank!!!!
Can't believe how expensive these Things are.

Did anyone ever buy the electric bottle warmer? Avent has one. U place the bottle in it and it takes a few mins to warm. ? Also expensive. But do u think necessary?

stjoe ladies. I thank GOD for all the second time moms. You guys are providing us with a lot of information that one would have not known on her own.

I also want to wash my babies stuff this weekend and have been panicking about the brand to use to wash them and kept on worrying about the effects that the fragrance might have on my babies skin. I will most certainly try sunlight as I myself have issues with my skin at times so I just pray that baby does not have skin issues as well.

As for breastfeeding. I want to breastfeed with all my heart. I don't know how it will work out for me but that's what I prefer most. I am confused when it comes to bottle brands. Which is the best? because there are way too many options out there and I opted for Avent and Tommie tippie. Which do you mommies prefer the most?

Same boat as Berry, breastfed my daughter for 2 weeks only. She latched just fine and I think I had enough milk, but she screamed her head off until I couldn't take it anymore and put her on a bottle. She was perfectly fine after that! Tried a few different bottles too but Avent worked like a charm. Bought Avent again, not even going to bother with anything else.

I have a Medela breastpump, will be using the same. The Avent pump looks cool, but the Medela mini-eletric is half the price and worked fine for me the first time around.

I'm also going to try very hard to breastfeed this time (not that I didn't try the last time), and hopefully the baby will work with me. Keeping a small tin of NAN in the house, just in case ;)

TCS, the Avent stand is inside the Baby City stand. Found that the microwave steriliser was much cheaper (R350 vis R599), but bottles and other stuff was just about the same.

I want to breastfeed. Gona try really hard to get it right. I have not purchased any bottles yet. Do you think I should? I was going to get the Avent natural range. The purple box. Starter pack. But like you said, they may like it or not...

I'm worried if I can't get it right and at night I need the bottle I won't have it. So perhaps I should just go get it. Want to get the Avent breast pump to... Is that okay? Or the medela?

Ladies Avent will have a stall at the mama Magic. Are they much cheaper their?

Also have you noticed that Babies r us is cheaper than baby city? In a lot of stuff. Diapers etc

With my Son I only breastfed for 3 weeks. I couldn't get him to latch properly and had bleeding and painful nipples. My milk dried up at 3 weeks. This time around I really want to give it a GOOD go as it's very important to me. I have Medela nipple shields and a good breastpump. Hoping I can perfect the latch :)

They say Nan is a good formula to start baby on if you want to go that route. My Son had reflux. I tried a few formulas with him - S26, Lactogen, Novalac AR and so on. At 1 year old he was only drinking between 80 and 120mls at a time. I then changed him over to fresh Goat's milk and it made a huge difference! He was suddenly drinking around 180mls at a time which was amazing. It is all trial and error. Babies are all so different.

I also tried a whole lot of different bottle makes to try and improve his reflux. Tommee Tippee, Mam (horrible to clean), Ackermans brand colic bottles, Dr. Browns, Nuk and Pigeon. None of them actually made any difference. At 1 year when I made the change to Goat's milk I also changed over to straw cups and he loved them! He actually never held his own bottle. He just refused to! But LOVED holding the straw cups :)
I have bought some Avent bottles this time around to give baby water.

Anyone else going to try breastfeeding?

Okay I washed them too.
Used sunlight baby wash powder and the comfort baby fabric softener.

It smells so nice I want to use them in my clothes
