Hi Ladies,
So I ended up going to my GP on Thursday. I was convinced something else must be wrong as my nausea and vomiting felt worse than ever. The Dr told me that it must still be the morning sickness. Gave me a Stemetil injection and prescribed Stemetil tablets. Apparently they are for chemotherapy patients. He said that the baby was completely formed at 12 weeks and will now only grow in size, so he doesn't mind prescribing any meds at this point in time. Also he said I can go without food for 3 weeks, but have to drink a table spoon of liquid every now and again. I stopped taking the tablets on Friday afternoon as they were making me feel VERY relaxed and sleepy and with my toddler running around I couldn't take naps. The great news is that I haven't vomited again and have been waking up nausea free this week. But i get reflux if I eat bread, oily food and sugary foods. Even water gives me reflux and heartburn. I'm now sleeping with 2 pillows (very uncomfortable) and living on tums and mainly fruit. I want to ask the Dr at next check up for some reflux meds.
DieSwartKat: Thanks for doing a list. My due date is 21 September and haven't been able to see gender yet.
Betti: Are you taking any pregnancy vitamins? Maybe that will help with immunity. I want to start taking PregOmegaPlus next week.
Kiara: That's nice about the baby bag. I LOVE free stuff! I got the Dischem baby bag with my little boy 3 years ago. Don't think I will qualify again with a second pregnancy. I am with Discovery medical aid, but not on Vitality so don't qualify for their free baby hamper.
TCS84: I am also patiently waiting for the energy boost to kick in. I am 16 weeks along now and can easily have a nap with my boy during the day and go to bed at 8pm haha!
I haven't felt any movements yet, but can't wait
I also have most of the essentials from last baby and want to get "nice to haves" this time around. Like a baby swing, ear thermometer, Angelcare baby monitor, Lansinoh electric breast pump and so on...
We have the Graco pram with car seat that slides into the pram. My boy used to fall asleep in the car on the way to the mall and then I would just clip the car seat into the pram and went shopping. It worked really well for me in those early months. It is a bulky pram though.
I found this website ladies:
www.babyfantasy.co.za There are a lot of nice specials on there.
My next appointment is on the 21st of April. Can't wait anymore
Does anyone have an appointment this week?
