i have a cot.

My mum bought us one for the last pregnancy when i was about 18 weeks. she was so excited and got it as a gift...

its a beautiful wooden cot from Mama's and Papa's... she also got me the matching compactum with a baby changer.. since it was my first child i wanted a wooden one to use for the rest and to have a pretty nursery etc.
well never got to it that time and its still in its box not assembled...

so i just need the pram...

Between a cot, compactum and pram you're probably looking at R10k. Everything is sooo expensive, but it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience to shop for your firstborn. And I mean, what woman doesn't need a good reason to shop??

Thanks DieSwartKat

will keep those points on hand when looking around... my sister had a Graco pram tht came with the car seat etc etc. worked very well...
I suppose i have lots of time to decide so will shop around and see what fits the budget...

I've tried everything I can get my hands on, ginger doesn't help me. Coke seems to help a bit, but I really don't want to drink it regularly because it's probably the worst thing that you can put in your body.

We decided beforehand what our budget was for a pram. It's easy to overspend if you walk into a Baby City and see all the different types, if you have an idea of your money it's easier to decide. Don't look at anything above your price range and then research whatever models are inside your budget. I think they are all fine. We had (have) a basic Graco pram, I looked at (a) price, (b) how easy it was to fold up (c) I drive a small car so it had to fit in my boot, and (d) I wanted a pram with a bigger basket beneath the pram. Some baskets are just too small to hold more than a loaf of bread.

And to be honest, by the time she was 7 months old we bought a MacLaren stroller and used that instead. Just because it was less hassle to use and easier to push. It becomes tiresome to push a big heavy pram around! By then she could also sit properly and it worked a treat. Don't spend too much on the initial pram, unless you know for certain that you'll be having more kids and intend to use it a second time.

Kiara, enjoy your appointment, mine is only next Thursday, still so far away....

I know. If only they knew... And you wait at the doctor's office (mine is always running 30 - 45 minutes late) and you're in there for a few minutes and a scan... A little funny but soooo worth it...

I've also started feeling flutters. They started in week 16 and they are getting stronger this week. I can't wait to see my baba this afternoon! My appointment is at 1:30...
