DieSwartKat, I'm also half way! Feels really good. I want to just dive into shopping and getting ready for baby. I'm also having a c-section but I'm trying to convince my doctor to wait till I'm in labour before doing it. He's not convinced. He figures, if I wait for labour then we should go natural. But if I want c-section, then we have to schedule it latest week 38...

I've also been buying bits and bobs, nothing big or expensive, but every time I buy something I get a real kick. It's been mostly stuff like bottles, a nappy bag, wipes, nappies, etc. Nothing gender-specific, we will only confirm our baby is a boy with Thursday's scan, although we are pretty convinced in our hearts. I have bought 2 blue outfits and receiving blankets, but otherwise stayed neutral.

Funny, I wanted another girl, but now I'll be disappointed if our baby isn't a boy. We've really grown into the idea of a boy over the past 5 weeks.

Also realised that this week will be about halfway for me! I'm 18 weeks on Friday and C-section will be at 37ish weeks. Wow.

Vendah, you should call your medical aid to find out if they give baby bags and when/how you can get one.

DieSwartkat, glad you're feeling better. Hopefully the nausea and vomiting will disappear soon. All the best for Thursday. I wish it was my turn again.

TCS84, congrats on a great appointment and especially on your first purchase. Just stay positive and trust your little one to keep growing strong until you meet in September.

AFM: I had another shopping spree over the weekend. I really have to stop now. Last year we gave up on TTC and gave away all the baby stuff we still had, now we have to start over...

I forgot to write back after my app last week. All went well and Baby boy is growing well..

I have my anatomy scan in 2 weeks. Then a week after that i have the next fetal specialist app.

So my mum took me shopping yesterday. We went to Mama's and Papa's. So i finally caved in and bought something. Not clothes but i bought the comforter and accessories for the cot. And a beautiful blanket... i must admit it felt great and i am getting a little excited now. my mum bought a whole lot of stuff too which she said she will give to me later...

i got quite sick on Friday night and i am now on a course of medication.. its really helping. the lack of sleep and constant coughing was too much. my uterus was aching from the coughing! i was afraid i was doing more harm with trying to fight it naturally than taking meds.

DieSwartKat: I really hope your nausea just ends!! at least the throwing up.. thats a horrible feeling! im sure by 20 weeks it will have stopped completely! Excited for you for Thursday!!

Do you know what you're having yet? So far everyone is expecting a boy, although some moms don't know the gender yet.

I'm feeling ok today, had a bit of a bad weekend with the nausea again, will this ever end?! At least I have a check-up at the doctor on Thursday and very excited to see our baby again

Hi everyone. So I'm a bit late to join you all, but our first baby is due on September 13th. We're very excited, and feeling so much better now that I'm well into second trimester. I look forward to being part of this forum and going through this experience with other people doing the same.
