@Juanita - tough one! In laws just always make life so difficult(well not all of them but jerr the majority of us always have to deal with in laws). Cant you tell her you dont know yet when they are going to ask you to come for induction? I have a similar situation, my MIL wants to be the first one to come, meaning she will be the one helping me and all as soon as i get home. I want my mother there, not her! seriously how will i let MIL help me with my c-sect scar and all that. I am of the idea that, after giving birth i need my mother as she will undestand me better should i not feel 100% in case of PNDs and all that. Thing is with my first MIL forced to come, and you wont beleive that she expected me to cook and take care of her..So this time around i dotn want such drama, as a result it wasnt even an open discussion with my hubby cos i know he will say his mom. I just said my mother is coming to assist me in the first days. He paused, and said but your mom is working, i just said, she will have to make a plan, i need her. and i changed the subject. LOL. Its my body, and i need to be comfortable. So my suggestion would be, give incorrect dates, and hey with childbirth, anything can happen. but you need to make sure your partner has your back,maybe have an honest conversation with him, and ask him to help you with ideas.

@HoopVirDieBeste- oh woow, time really flies hey. Its not long ago when you started this thread, and now you are almost at the end of the journey. All the besst with the shower hey, post pics afterwards. And girl, you look good. thanks for the pic. Do you know if they will be removing the fibroid at birth?

@pillpusher - oh woow..lovely pics. I love the wall deco. very sweet of yuor family to have such lovely gifts for you, sounds like you had fun, and no drama. Glad you enjoyed.

AFM - i am so excited, my preggy brain has been telling me that my appointment is on the 7th, they just called me to confirm if i am coming tommorw, so yippee i cant wait for tomorrow. its been 6 weeks since i last saw baby, so yaa i cant wait. Fatigue has started to kick in again , but other than that, i am good. Hubby told me my friends and sisters are planning a shower for me..LOL. he says he could keep the secret any longer..LOL, so funny. But he didnt give any details or dates..so we will see. I cant wait to hold my little one, though i feel so unprepared!

Thank you for the reply and yes I would appreciate the number for the Pre-Natal classes as Kloof. I wasn't planning on attending any classes because of the c-sec but it sounds like it would be a great help to ease my nerves.

I have an appointment to see my gynie this Friday and I will ask him regarding all the codes and so on.

Only 10 more weeks to go and I am really looking forward.

Oh and I am also having BH every day now. Sometimes they are quite uncomfortable but the worst part for me is the getting up at night to visit the loo. Last night i broke my record and got up 7 TIMES.

@pillpusher, you look happy there and am sure after seeing your nephew you can't wait for your blessing to arrive, glad you had tun and atleast now you know what you can still buy for the baby.

My c sec is scheduled for the 23, my dr has other commitments on the 26th so it was either i go earlier or later of which later is closer to my due date did not want to risk it.

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well! I'm knackered after the weekend

Yes, thank you. My shower was indeed on Saturday. DH really put on quite a convincing performance to throw me off, but I just let him do his thing and only told him at the point that he dropped me that I had known. But there was a BIG SURPRISE for me My sister-in-law (brother's wife) flew down from Cape Town and brought my nephew along with her. It was amazing and so special, so happy I got to meet him! He really is adorable.



My mom, MIL and sisters-in-law really went to a lot of effort to make it special. A pity that some guests just didn't pitch or never RSVP'd, but such is life. We had a good time anyway and my little girl was very spoilt. Lots of clothes (as predicted) so I've already noted some of the things we'll still need to get. I'm hoping that some of gaps get filled in when my colleagues throw a shower for me, but I'm not counting on it. I just hope they don't leave things too late because it doesn't sound like they've set a date yet I've got a voucher to use at Baby City so will probably buy a steriliser and I've asked DH if he minds for us to wait to use the one from Woolies until after El arrives because if all goes well with breastfeeding then I'll use it on nursing bras.

One of the "features" from the party was a "blessing tree". My MIL made it, one of my SILs (husband's elder sister) decorated it and made the owl on top. Then guests wrote down wishes for El on butterflies and stuck them on the tree. Goes with the planned butterfly tree mural that will be done in her room.

We also picked up the wall decorations and DH put them up last night. Nesting is definitely kicking in – we were both knackered yesterday afternoon and ended up passing out. We were supposed to do our couple maternity shoot, but the weather did not accommodate us so we've had to reschedule for two week's time. We eventually got up around 7pm... and then ended up cleaning and prepping in our own bedroom and the nursery and only got to bed very late!





Compactum packed with toiletries, etc, etc. The bags on top have mouth things (feeding accessories, dummies, toothbrushes), bibs, beanies, shoes and toys in them. All the clothes have been put into a basket under the cot for washing and then we'll organise into sizes and drawers.

@Juanita – I've only had a few BHs that I was actually aware of. I suppose I can be grateful. Two were almost like period cramps, while otherwise it's that sudden tightening of the abdomen that I've experienced. I know that I'm probably having them a lot, but am just not aware of them. Maybe it's a consolation for how much pain I was in when El implanted! I don't know what to say about your MIL. I know my mom happily told my godmother that she can wait outside with her when I give birth because her daughter in law (the one that's due the same day as me) doesn't want her there, but I've told my mom that we're only going to have first visitors in the evening session and it will only be IMMEDIATE family because DH has five siblings, four of which are attached.

Hello Mommies!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Mine was chilled as always... we attended a Land Cruiser Record attempt for most Land Cruisers at one place on Saturday, it was a long day and my body is really taking its toll... my feet are starting to swell in this heat, so walking a lot is not so lekker anymore!

BH... oh my word, LouiseMarie, I have also been getting it since 22 weeks but they are getting more and more and worse week by week, especially when walking (isn't it just the worst?) It feels like my bladder is going to burst and that my belly muscles are way to short, so I walk all crouched forward and legs apart and it looks so funny. I get BH about 1-2 every hours... and with this fibroid that I have, it looks like a tennis ball in my lower abdomen when it happens.... and that part is rather painful.

Hospital bags for Mommies.... I see that Game has a special on, they are rather nice and priced well. Then I have discovered this shop in Randburg this weekend, (I think they deliver... for the NON Gauteng Mommies) it is called Baby Go Around, it is a second hand shop (some new stuff as well) and their prices are very very good. I bought a beautiful rocking chair for R1000 this weekend. Go check out their website www.babygoaround.co.za

33 weeks today, this coming Friday we have 5 weeks to go before my c-sec... our babyshower is the 13th, can't wait, we are going to be about 30-40 people as we invited the families (not only mommies) to join for they day as it is a Sunday and a picnic at Rietvlei dam... and almost everybody rsvp'ed... I think everybody is just to excited to have a baby coming as all our friends and family will not be having more babies... we are the last ones.... (and almost the oldest as well )

I will add a belly bump photo now... or try and insert it in this post... I think it is the only one I have as I don't like photo's being taken of me... not even when I am not pregnant!

Juanita, how's your cold/flu doing?

Does your MIL want to be in the labour ward with you?! Maybe just tell her the date but then say, as this will be your last pregnancy and that you would really appreciate some privacy for the 1st day, together as a family. Maybe even play the card that Leandi is very emotional and you want to give her the necessary time to bond with her new sister after the birth.

That's the best I can think of...?

As for the BH... been getting them quite strong from 22 weeks.

Lately I get them whilst I'll be walking and that's the worst
