Hi ladies

I'm back from our amazing trip to Thailand and Singapore. Happy to say I survived it. The Thai ladies are so caring towards pregnant woman, it's so sweet. I'll post a pic when I get a new phone.

I went to Dischem on Saturday. It was quite eventful Firstly - someone decided to steal my phone out of my bag. Secondly - I applied for the Dischem baby program as I am now 28 weeks. The now tell me that I applied very late and I can only get my bag a month before my due date - so if anyone hasn't applied for it yet - go do so soon

Started antenatal classes last night, it suddenly made things VERY real and a little scary!

Ladies - how do you guys deal with your medical aid and your doctor. I am having such an issue with our medical aid. I have now asked my doctor to send us a quote on what she charges for a natural and C-section birth. But basically everything is coming off our savings and our medical aid has not paid for a single scan, blood test, nothing! We had a decent amount in our savings account - but wow - at this rate it will never cover the birth. I have no idea why we bother to pay for medical aid when it all comes off our savings and they don't pay for a thing. Are any of you ladies having issues?

Hi Kimmy! Feeling absolutely fine this morning... And Larissa is up to her usual movements and kicks, so she's fine as well.

Will definitely discuss it with my Gynae at next appointment.

About the 28 week scan - it's considered a "normal" scan. Depending if you were referred for Glucose Blood screening at your 24week appointment, your dr might want you to go for the test now, but you say everything was fine last visit - so I doubt dr will send you.

You'll get your dr's codes now for your medical aid auth number and the go ahead to go book your bed for your c-sec.

From now on out it's just monitoring - nothing major.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to be sure. At my previous checkup the doctor said everything was going very well so I am hoping for the same result this time.

@zandriT i don't think at 28 weeks there is much to check for except for normal growth and weight gain, the most important was your 20th of which you over it already

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question and was hoping that some of you might know.

I am going for my 28 week checkup on Friday and wanted to know what to expect? I usually read about all my checkups before I go in just to prepare myself and to know what the doctor will be looking at but cannot seam to find anything for the 28 week appointment.

I do not think that the 28 week is a major one but just wanted to make sure. And ask about your experiences.

I am always very much on my nerves before every checkup so much that my blood pressure is measured high (luckily it is only the nerves)

Clueless, I'm soooooo dead tired at night, but the moment I grab my pillow, turn off the light and get into position - NOTHING!!!

Then I just lay there and feel every single twitch in my muscles! I also have terrible restless legs... So last night after a steam shower, I rubbed some Moove (deap heat) on my legs and feet. Not sure if that also assisted in the good night's sleep...?

Hi mommies!

I had a terrible evening... was so scared!

From around 7pm I started getting TERRIBLE chet pain - right on my sternum I would get this tight crampy feeling. Was sooooooo paranoid I was getting a heartattack...

When I turned to Dr Google, it turned out it's one of the most difficult diagnoses to make in a pregnant woman, as it can be either one of the following:
Heartattack, Angina or just plain old Indigestion from eating too much.
What puzzled me was the fact that I had severe earpain - like someone was pulling my ear hard! And apparently they say tightening of jaw is a symptom of a heartattack?! What on earth???? I just turned 33 Friday!!!

And yesterday I ate ALOT!!!! Eventually around 10pm I drank another Eno (in case of indigestion) and took a 1/4 of a disprin. Was knocked out by the disprin and only woke up this morning with a helluva Pee!

Has anyone else experienced this?
