Been hectic with work and the social life (I actually have one) Lol..

Celebrated mines and my mums bday this week. Went to Rocomamas on Tuesday evening. OMG their food is divine. The burgers and wings...
Yesterday we had homemade bunny chows. I have really been over indulging this week.. Cakes and biscuits, even coke

So I am now 17w5d now. My next app is on Monday. Excited much. More to find out gender than anything else.

Read some of your messages and seems like an awesome place to be. Most of my friends are not pregnant, so I dont want to be the one to bore them with preggy talk! SO glad I found a place I can call home.

@ Nisha : I just got back from Japan @ 18w. I found that my sinuses got very dry in the plane and I used saline spray for my nose and I was fine. I also packed some snacks, and bought water after the security check. For me, mineral water/sparkling water was better than plain because it helped with the dryness. Also pack your favourite cream in your handbag.. for your hands and face. I walked around ALOT because I had to use the bathroom all the time,but still ended up with swelling. It resolved after one day, though, so not too bad.

@Nisha keeping my fingers crossed yu will join Nix as well. Well on the unsolicited advice, just ignore, the gynae gave you the go ahead. As Zaza said b4 walk around during the flight and wen u land in SA, tak nice long naps that week and rest.

@Zaza nice the party went well and yo gal looked like she had a beautiful time. LOL @ your mum, yaa guess I am like her, I am also not that patient, I would hav probably done the same as well, when is your next appointment?

I am seeing my Jelly bean this sat, I cant wait. Waal I have bin so lazy in starting the preps for my baby, so my SIL asked to help me prepare the bay needs list....Boy did I panic, I realized there is a lot to get. Sent it to DH , he was also in a serious panic mode at least the big things Cot bed, Chest and Bath set we have. I guess this Sat, I will start buying more. I have also started stocking diapers.... 3rd trimester is around the corner

I'm so happy that party went so well and Zaza.. I'm glad u had so much fun.. Happy mummy hey.. It's right time to pull and see all old baby stuffs and u will know what u need further.. U have good time to shop too.

There is baby expo in. Oct.. Did u guys see.. I'm not sure when it's in joburg n Durban. In Cape Town it's mentioned as oct 31. I'm thinking to go there..me n hubby have no clue on what we need for baby..how to buy it..nothing.. Just going with advise from Google

Nix. How is ur gran..is ur dad still there..my prayers for ur gran...my scan went well for 20 weeks and 6 days.. Here they don't say gender. It's law.. So couldn't know the gender.. But I guess it's baby girl.. My hubby's mom passed away in jan..he is so close to her..so everyone are like his mom will join the family again as our baby.. So pretty much all say girl girl girl.

My doc gave green signal to travel. Though I'm in 21 weeks only, I still got medical clearance just in case.. I had my first dosage vaccination and my legs are so heavy n painful.. So I'm moving so slow..packing so slow.. Just lazy to cook dinner.. Ordered pizza

I'm just so emotionally tired with so many inputs from all relatives.. Scaring me that to fly is bad idea..risky etc.. I'm so upset that nobody gets the point that I would love to be with my hubby . All think I'm just doing it for fancy.

Anyways my hubby said he wants me there..and to ignore all others talk. It's so scary what words people just let out without knowing how it hurts the other person.

Yesterday my bp was bit high..I was so tensed what doc would say for travel.. And she made me relax and then checked again..it was normal. So getting ready to be with hubby.

Congrats Nix!!! glad it went all well and it's a girl!!! Team pink officially has started hey.

My baby also measured bigger (at 20 weeks measured 23 weeks due to size, etc) and the EDD was ahead than initially proposed because of that, when I asked the gynae she said now she still sticks to the original EDD, I suppose gynaes have diff methods.

Yes we did have a blast at the party, thanks. I suppose with your gran all you can do is show her that you are all there for her until she is ready to move on or remain. all the best with that, it must be very emotionally draining, will still say a prayer for her.

How is all the other mama's doing, everyone has been quite lately. Or just busy?

My mum is fed-up waiting for my baby to confirm it's gender, lol so she went shopping, and got some lovely red, green and brown colour jumpers for baby and hooded towels and a gorgeous blanket for the baby, I think women just want to shop!!! This weekend hubby and I will be pulling out the old boxes where we stored most of my daughters baby stuff so we can see what we have and can reuse so we can start prepping for babies items.

@Nix I also wake up starving, I usually try having some marie biscuits or yogurt to stop the hunger but I have to make breakfast early cause this baby wants to eat lol.

I am so sorry for keeping you guys in suspense. I have just been busy catching up from not being at work on Friday and then having internet issues at home.


I went to see my gran in hospital on Friday, she was awake but its more of a blank stare and wasn't registering. She is very frail and cant even move. They had her on anti biotics and saline drip to keep her hydrated. They discovered that it was the blood thinners they were giving her for a clot she has that was causing her internal bleeding so now we just wait and see what happens.
She needs to move on, its like she is trapped in her own body.

Anyway...

@Carmy - CONGRADS on the boy. I also cant stop eating. I had to get up this morning early hours to eat something and then I couldn't fall asleep again but when I did, I slept so nicely! I wished it was weekend so I could have slept in a bit. I had to shake my daughter awake this morning because she was sleeping so nicely also! I felt so bad.

@Nisha - Beautiful scan pic! WOW! So precious. Did you not find out the gender yet? How did the doc go yesterday? Did he give you the all clear to travel? How you feeling emotionally? Thinking of you, I know how hard it is moving cities, never mind countries :0).

@Zaza - Glad you had a successful party and such lovely pics, you can see she had such a good time. I am feeling fine, cant stop eating and just getting uncomfy now.

So ladies... I had my scan on Friday at the gynea for the first time. She has moved my due date a week ahead to the 8th December so I am actually 21 weeks today so I am a bit confused about that.. She basically did an anatomy scan so checked the brain, blood flow, bladder, etc. I had a whole slap of white chocolate so baby was a bit active. I need to upload the video we recorded on my cell phone and take some screen shots for you ladies. I must just go to my cardiologist for a check up to make sure everything is ok but last pregnancy I had no issues and my doctor was happy. Otherwise doc is happy with us and
