@Lashy how did your scan go, we waiting with much anticipation.............boy or girl???

@NewMommy completely agree when you pregnant everything just needs to move slower lol, I am never on schedule when pregnant!! If there is one thing I can tell you is good investment is a good pram combo. We bought ours from Fordsburg Oriental Plaza - when we lived in JHB, great Chelino 5 in 1, came with the baby car seat, came with the big sun-shade, sleeping bag, and later became a stroller, for R1200 (that was 4 years ago) and we used it for my daughter for the first 3 years. we just need to clean it and it will be good for baby number 2, wheels, suspensions, still great thread. The ones a baby city and toys r us are ridiculous in price, but shop around you do get good quality ones are good prices. Also please share more about your home birth plan, sounds very exciting.

@ Happi & PregnantFairy my next scan is at 24 weeks, which is next Thursday, Happi don't worry I get totally the porridge brain, I can so sympathise!!!

@pregnantfairy I am pretty sure I'm having another girl, but my entire family is still in denial, I am sure little boys would have shown by now if it was a boy, glad your baby is growing so well.

@Carmy I also think by 36 weeks you may just want to sleep and do nothing else, lol. Would be good to great your pram and car seat sooner some places are cheaper than the expo for this, try the online shopping route as well. Generally the clothes and diapers and toiletries are the things to leave for the last minute cause you get them anywhere. Also my LG when she was born slept better in the pram, cause can sway them, so nicer to have it sooner, don't worry about your bump it will show soon, there is no avoiding that!! If you going elective you will get to have your baba before Christmas, discuss with your gynae, I'm sure your gynae may go on leave so would be glad to accommodate you earlier.

@ Happi1: Private room sounds like a great idea when you have a little one already - no worries about disturbing anyone else, and you can enjoy being a family in private.

@ Zaza2011: not that big yet, but still have to sneak out of the room to pee every few hours, so still end up making that same movement lol! (Hubster is like an octopus, limbs everywhere).

Thank goodness my work is a bit flexible.. I find getting ready and out of the house on time is a hectic..I just cant seem to rush anywhere.

As for the stroller we went to view off Gumtree, a bit of a disappointment. Looked new on the ad but was clearly through about two kids (no treads and loose treads on tyres etc), so reconciling myself to buying a new one.

It sounds so cute how all of you with little ones already are preparing for the new arrival. It sounds so sweet how excited they get with the idea of a new brother or sister.

@zaza2011, hope you get to find out you babies gender soon. When is your next scan? Will hold thumbs ! My cheeky little boy was clearly a boy from 12 weeks, so the shopping could start really early. I am feeling much better now than first trimester, just very tired and occasional headaches unfortunately. Just make sure I get an early night, but then up a few times to snack or have a pee. Will definitely try the milk though! Baby is doing well and measuring 400g and 21cm for 20 weeks and 5 days.

@Happi1, Congrats on joining team blue . Sorry to hear you are still feeling nauseas, I hope it passes soon. Bump looking great and love the ultrasound pic.

@carmyburlo, Glad you are feeling movement now, it's the best feeling, isn't it? I am based in Pretoria and had a major shopping trip last weekend after 20 week scan. Sure the expo will be amazing for bargains. .. but I might be too impatient to wait until then unfortunately.

Yes I booked my bed, done the authorizations with medical aid, I am having my 4D scan on the 14th of September, I cant wait! I will definitely take my daughter with, I am sure she will luv it.

The hospital tour was really worth it, it really influenced my decision on the private room option. I was in a ward with my daughter and I luvd it, no complaints at all, though I was at Morningside mediclinic. But I thot this time around I will experience the pvt room. its different hospital as well, however I luvd the private rooms floor, it didn't have the hospital feeling, even the rooms, which I liked. Though you pay R1200 per day, but I have saved that money already, just me treating me:) gud point on the resting part Zaza, I will rethink the visits.

When are you seeing baby Moon again, I know you said it b4, forgive the porridge brain

@ Carmy, I agree with you, it wld be nice to be at home in time for Christmas and getting spoilt by family! I agree with yu, the kicks are the sweetest. I tend to talk to the baby a lot, since the kicks started, he reminds mummy that he is in there!

@ Zaza2011 - I am 19 w 0d today. Wierdly enough I have no bump (yup I'm also confused), but it could be be because I started the pregnancy pretty well-padded (if you know what I mean) . So have no bump pics yet...boo me. Im from Cape Town, and didnt find a hospital I felt safe with, so going all out for a home birth (keep your fingers and toes crossed!)

In general, I was a horrible tantrumy monster this weekend, and felt exhausted and overwhelmed by just about everything. Folding laundry seemed too much. After some nice rest and pampering by the hubster, I am feeling way better.

We decided that we would rather let the gender be a surprise , so team neutral colors for now. Deciding between a panda theme and a winnie the pooh theme for the nursery, but also may just be modern/basic about it.

We have most of the furniture, hubster is an avid DIY dude, and he is repurposing a chest of drawers into a compactum and building a co-sleeping crib (primarily because Im lazy and couldnt be bothered to get up at all hours to go to another room to feed baby, I'd rather just reach out..hehe).

Gumtree has been awesome as well - I almost died when I saw the prices of strollers at Baby City (nine grand..whoooootttttt) ! So went to view some of the same strollers selling for way less on Gumtree and will settle on one soon. They are almost new, and all the bits are washable...

Hubs also did the ebucks thing for nappies from take a lot, and have gotten a thermometer, nailclippers, and not much else (naughty giggles). SO glad people here are so chilled about the buying frenzy.
