Hello ladies,

Hope u all had a good weekend. Mine was good. Went to movie and got dress for myself. Stretchable ones and not preggy ones..

Today I went to mediclinic. Got appointment with Johan van heerden. Old guy..but was very nice and answered all my queries. So good news.. Got a gyno now... He did do a scan today and my little bug said hi by waving hands. He said everything looks good and travel hasn't changed anything to me or baby. So all good.

No baby stuffs yet. Need to shop weekend only. I made a list of all things u girls shared of what is needed for baby. So one by one I'm gonna shop when time permits.also my mood.

Nix - sorry abt ur gran. But she s in better place. May her soul rest in peace.
I'm all good. Safe n sound in cape Town. And I registerd with mediclinic baby form u sent me.
Today when I visited got a pregnancy journal, photo album as well. Thanks to u for sharing the link.

Carmy, newmommy - yes..my flight was good. Did manage to walk and slept a lot. Did feel so hungry and flights got delayed but thanks to the snacks I had packed. So no swelling or much..and the air hostess was really sweet . she helped me with lots of water and extra snacks too.. Finally in cape Town. Settled down as well. My home is all set.. Atleast one gyno is handy. I will start shopping happily for baby now.

Still no Internet. Just mobile data. So badly need internet to look stuffs online n all. Looks like telcom will take 3 weeks.

@zaza - good plan hey. It will go by plan..don't worry.. Good to know ur leaves all got approved. And u did scare me too.. I'm 24 weeks now and really hit me when u say it 16 more weeks.. It's like 4 months but when u say in weeks..it is very close.. Keeping spirits high hey. . we can do this. All set to welcome little one.

@ lashy - I was laughing all day hearing ur lunch story.very interesting.. I hope u finished ur fruit salad too.

Hope you all had a great long weekend We went camping for the weekend (Brave, I know) and it wasn't actually so bad but I must admit, I took my electric blanket with us - Hehehehe

@Nix, sorry to hear about your Gran but at least now you have some closure. Condolences to you and your family.

@ Nisha, glad to hear you had a safe trip!! at least the worrying is over now!

LOL!! I am so glad I am not the only one with a food obsession, I feel like my life nowadays revolves around my next meal

@Newmommy, sounds like a hectic weekend, time to chill! My best friend is getting married over the long weekend is September so things will be rather busy over the next few weeks.

So I am 19weeks today, not suffering from any symptoms other than my appetite. Still only feeling very slight fluttering movements - Nothing major yet.
My next scan is next week Tuesday, YAY 6 more sleeps!

We haven't bought anything yet, but my mom has done a whole whack of shopping and we have already gotten a few gifts from colleagues.
Hubby doesn't want to go shopping to soon and have everything laying around, so we have put all the money we need aside and will probably just do one MAJOR shopping trip after the baby shower

Oh and my bump is FINALLY starting to make an appearance I read this morning that in this next week, Bug will grow from 15cm to 27cm and from around 100g to 200g (Insane)

@ Nisha: Welcome to South Africa, hope that you are having some rest and relaxing before the preparations begin. How was your flight? I remember you being very worried about that..

@ Nix: Sincere condolences on the passing of your Gran. I hope that you remember to take it easy with all the funeral arrangements!

@ Lashy: Now you have got me craving KFC. And I usually dont even eat KFC, but its like now I have to have some!!

@ Zaza: I cant wake up either, but that was from way before the pregnancy (lazy me!)

In general: Long weekend was awesome, we went away to Stellenbosch, it was hubsters birthday. I had bought him a watch, but no card or anything else I was too busy and too tired. And then because my house is in a state, I decided to do afternoon tea at the Cape Grace for the mothers (his and mine), and it went smoothly. Everyone had a great time! Womens Day and birthday all done and dusted! Now for planning for the next long weekend - 24 Sept is public holiday and we might just extend it to the Friday as well. Would probably be a good idea. Taking these kinds of breaks are important for us, its the last few months it'll just be two of us - soon there will be three!

As for baby stuff - havent bought anything except a stroller, nappies, and a thermometer. I realised that I use ALOT of baby toiletries (baby lotion, baby oil, baby powder, baby body wash, baby vaseline and shampoo because I have sensitive skin! ) So dont need to buy that much. On to the clothes shopping then!

Hope everyone here is warm and keeping rested and being spoilt..

@ Nix sorry to hear about your gran, I suppose now the family has some closure and she was now ready to go as opposed to a few weeks ago. how are you doing otherwise with the pregnancy, I'm sure you are either on or will on your feet a lot with funeral preps, etc?

So ladies where is everyone else, how are you and the babies doing. I had my first Braxton hicks today where I felt it, shew had to sit down once it hit, my little one has moved higher in my abdomen as I can feels the movements a little higher now. I double checked for those who know my porridge brain, I do have my 24 weeks routine visit with the gynae this Thursday, l looking forward to see baby noon and how much baby has grown. My symptoms come and go nothing major to report, I just have a post nasal drip not sure how to treat it?

I am having toasted cheese and mushroom sandwiches for lunch today. I am a bit excited cause in 2 weeks time I can finally go book my hospital bed (that's the timeline at my hospital, get my packing bag list and go on the maternity ward tour) so kinda excited for that. Also can book the free 3d or 4d scan whichever it is.

I scared my family by telling them we have 16 weeks until the baby arrives, lol, that sounds a lot closer than saying 4 months, but it help realign everyone's expectations. My boss and HR approved my maternity leave plan provided baby arrives according to the plan, so if it does I will go on maternity leave from Monday, 9 Nov (37 weeks), returning sometime in Feb to cover my four months. Haven't spoken to my gynae yet about my delivery date, for those who don't know I will be having an elective Caesar, I want to discuss with my gynae having it done at 39 weeks, normally they want to do it at 38 weeks, will see what we decide on in the next few weeks!!!! If baby 2 is going to be bigger than my first born I probably will just let it be done at 38 weeks.

Has anyone bought any baby stuff yet?

Little one has been very active this morning but I think she is now sleeping.

Just to let you ladies know that my gran passed away peacefully at 11:50 on Sunday. My aunt was at least with her as my uncle was out sailing and she couldn't get a hold of him.

Soooooooo please can I just tell you about my lunch break lol

I went to PnP to get a gift for a colleague. Decided on fruit salad for lunch. So bought the fruit salad and gift. Whilst walking to the car I smelt biltong from the butchery at the shopping centre lol

So walked towards the butchery and saw KFC so decided to get a mash and gravy (best mash and gravy lol) and walked out with Mash and gravy, a crunch burger and zinger wings
