March / April 2009 Babies (PF)

Hi. karatemum i forgot to say that i hope that you are ok now. my mom has also landed up in hospital with ashma. my son used to love purity veg til i gave him the real thing and then one day he stopped eating veg and still refuses to eat veg. fruit he loves and yoghurt. he eats tuna, peanut butter, pasta and egg. he sucks chicken and spits it out. my son's cousins were hitting him yesterday but on the whole he had fun according to my husband. they came home as such last night after 9pm.

Missy - I use Vidol on Jensen's gums, really seems to work, I think its because of the paracetemol (sp?).

For breakfast I have been giving Jensen the stage 4 purity muesli (apple and banana flavour) which he loves.

Lunch at creche he gets veg and a protein and when at home I give him some veg (butternut mostly) and a fishfinger which i smother in the butternut and then he eats it.

For supper I normally give him cereal again because that seems to fill him up the most, so its normally the purity good nights malt, tastes nice too!

In between he has snacks of biscuits or cheese curls or flings - which he asks for specifically by walking to the cupboard in the kitchen and sitting there looking at me and saying taa taa

My LB wont even eat Fish Fingers or 2min Noodles. He shakes his head violently should I even try bring most food near him. I have tried to let him feed himself thinking this is his way of saying he want to try himself and not have me feed him but mostly it all just ends up on the floor. He hates Purity except the fruit ones. I used to always make him food using my blender and he always ate so well up until he turned a year, he eats almost nothing. Weetbix, bovril bread & Yoghurt can't be a very nourishing diet. At School he supposedly eats veges & Purity mixed (but I am not even sure how much of that he actually eats) because he certainly wont eat it if I make it for him.

Siwe I'm sorry no advice on my side, I am just embarrassed when are around people as Noah likes fighting and at Daycare there was a time where he was biting and attacking the other children but the Teachers helped me a lot but saying we should reprimand him and not laugh or pay any positive attention to the behaviour so he's over that phase now just loves hitting my older LG.

Hahahaha 2KidMamma we are definitely living in each other's household. I have the exact exact same problem with Noah and food and Weetbix is a lifesaver for when he doesn't want to eat. I made 2min noodles yesterday and he had a little bit of that, then for supper we had soup and I dipped bread into it and he had about 1slice. It I run out of ideas I buy the Toddler Purity and he'll have about 4 spoons then he's done and shakes his head. I tried fishfingers cut up thinly on Tuesday and he stuffed his mouth, sucked out all the juice then spat it out. I have this wonderfull toddler recipe book but so lazy to make any of the nice food in there. Last used my blender in March probably...

Hi Ladies
My son has developed hitting people, with his head also. My SIL, is looking after him, so she came with her son as well who is 6 days older than him. Whenever i am around he around he runs after SIL'S son and hit with his toys and head, even grabs his bottle. This makes me so embarrased cause he does not do this when i am not around. He also does this to me, the other day i hit him on his hands, he did not cry he just laughed. How do i make him understand it wrong to hit another person. He also likes to bite.

I battle to get any food into my LB. He mostly turns his nose up at everything but will eat bread with Bovril sometimes and always happy to eat Yoghurt. On the cooked food side he sometimes obliges me and eats pasta with Mince and occasionally will eat veg like Brocolli & Cualiflower but very seldomly. He will however jump up and down should he see me open the cookie cuboard. He is not a big eater, loves his milk though. Wish I new what else I could give him that he would eat, I have tried so many different things. If he he doesn't eat supper I sometimes have to give him weetbix just so he gets something in his tummy. last night he ate well though, I made spaghetti & Meatballs.
