2kid - Yup then I guess sadly your baba is like mine and my hubby You learn to live with it, and when he is older he may just need to go for syringing every 6 months otherwise the hearing gets affected. If you are worried about the hearing issue you can ask your doc about a hearing test. For now Tadhg's hearing if fine (unless he is being to do something lol) but it's something I will watch for only because of hubby being partially deaf. This months Living & Loving actually has an article about ears infections and grommets, maybe check that out (borrow it if you don't want to buy! Unfortunately I don't have a scanner otherwise I would send you a copy)

Karatemum, it's so interesting what you say about the overproduction of ear Wax... My LB has emense amounts of ear wax, like nothing I have ever seen before. It basically is so bad that you can wipe away the wax on the inside of the ear with a cloth and within an hour or so it looks the same. Sometimes the doctor can't even see down his ear for all the wax.

2kid - scar tissue can cause problems, mine was burst and never healed properly and now I have issues with that ear. It also happens that people with ear issue can also over produce wax which also causes it's own problem with having to syringe often or even end up having to have grommets - grommets only happen though my pead said if there is in excess of 6-8 or more infections a year, so mine and your baba's are ok for now, just sensitive ears! Not great but not too bad, it seems most people have one thing they are prone to sadly. My son also doesn't show signs, he never does when he is sick, that's why when he was 5 months they didn't even suspect swine flu and it was they couldn't believe how fine he seemed! Kids are hard! lol

Lauren - Shame my hubby couldn't milk father's day at all as he had done nothing for me for mother's day even with my MC that day so I told him he gets nothing!

Has anyone been to Jimmy Jungles with their kiddies? I wanted to take Tadhg (and stay with him of course) but wondered if it's worth it - he loves to climb but freaks out if their are too many kids as he is small, so will have to go when it's quiet.

Please don't stress about Jensen's walking. A friend of mines LB only took his first steps at 18 months and now they can't stop him. The most important and crucial is that he got a good amount of crawling in before starting to walk. Did you know that a child needs to crawl an average of 50 000 to make enough of the right connections between brain neurons to optimise learning potential and that is why crawling is imperitive, even more so that walking. It helps with everything later on in life.

Trust you all had a good weekend!

Mine was average, felt like I didnt get a break because hubby milked the "its father's day" excuse!

Jensen has a bit of a cold, has a runny nose and wet cough and I am so worried its going to go to his chest. Really am so tired of him being sick. Everytime he gets better a week later he gets something else, but I guess thats the joys of sending him to creche.

He still isnt walking, but I now think I am going to go and get one of those blow up walker thingies that Karatemum mentioned, he stood by himself for a couple of seconds this morning and is definately getting braver, he just seems to need a little confidence boost to let go and take a few steps!

2kidmamma - so sorry to hear about your LB's eardrums, luckily on my side we havent had any issues whatsoever with ears. Its always a bronchial thing.
