I know the Orolox, thing is with a burst ear drum you cannot drop anything into it, it has to heal first with the oral antibiotic. The orolox is brilliant though, it's also what they gave my daughter after her grommets/Adenoids operation

Have you given N food made with other packets of powdered ingredients, they are usually high in MSG and Sodium. MSG & Tartrazine can cause reactions so monitor it next time you cook with it.

Shame that's terrible, I remember after my daughter had grommets inserted her ear oozed I then took her to the ENT where he inserted a gauze with ointment which had to fall out after 5days or we had to pull it out and he gave a script for Orolox which I think is the best Antibiotic for ears by the way.

I used the Knorr Creamy Vegetable Bake Packet, yes. Was very concerned when the Daycare called me to tell me about the rash but will monitor it. Thanks I'll watch the Onion...

More likely to be the Greenpepper or the Onion. Some people can have severe reactions to onion. Has he eaten it much before? Otherwise did you use a packet of vegetable bake powder? There is often ingredients in that like MSG that can cause reactions in children.

Well Misty with my Son we never seem to even know he has an ear infection because he shows no signs but we soon realise that the eardrum has burst when it starts to ooze severe green stuff! He also is a little niggly the night before it actually happens but he doesn't scream or look in obvious pain which is what the doctors say usually happens. Eardrums have perforated when infected yuckies start to seep out because the pressure has been released. After they have burst it is not sore anymore. It does apparantly get sore again when it starts to heal for a while and then they are sometimes niggly.

That's terrible 2KidMamma, what happens when the eardrum bursts? How would you know the eardrum has burst? N had grommets inserted when he was 9months old as he had ear infections. We are actually due for a follow up ENT Visit this month that reminds me.

Kimika does your LO have a Walker, we would also give him a toy and say go give this to Daddy and in turn go give this to Mommy short distances and that got him going? What shoes is your Lo wearing? The barefeet really helps with stability.

Karatemum this is his 3rd ear infection in a few months and his second burst eardrum (The Doctor said the more times it happens the harder it becomes to heal and the scar tissue buildup can cause hearing issues etc. About the water, of course my little toughy took a roll under the water in the bath by accident last night, I tried to catch him before his head went under but i couldn't so he was fully immersed.... just hope that he didn't get too much in.

Farhaway - Do you not have a set routine for bedtime? That was the only part of a routine I ever had and stuck with no matter where we are and it's helped putting him to bed.

Kimika - FX for this cycle and hope all goes well with the tests.
I used a blow up roller thingy I got from Reggies to help Tadhg to get going. As he was cruising but seemed worried away from the funiture so the rolling thing let him hold onto it and move he slowly realised he could get where he needed then lost it after he gained the confidence to stand alone. But he has been very independent from day one and never really liked to be carried for too long, so I think that helped.

My son has sensitive ears like me and hubby (hubby is actually deaf in one ear and partially in the other) so it was given that our kiddie would have ear issues! But it has slowly got less as he has gotten a little older but comes up when teething I noticed.
