Hi Lauren

Often when my LB is teething (Cut 4 molars at once) I have to dose him to make him cope through the night and I also sometimes wonder if it is too much. I think that it's for such a short time that they teeth and we don't give them meds throughout the day so on the nights it's really bad I am sure it's ok. I usually give Ponstal & stopayne together if it is very severe. I also give Sr Lillian Rescue Rest becuase it has Camomilla in which is good for calming.

Sorry for only replying now, Ive been a bit out of it, so tired and need sleep and I have a VERY miserable baby at the moment!

He isnt doing any better yet, just noticed that his other molar is starting to pop up aswell, so as the one molar is cutting through, the other one decides to pop in for a visit and we are starting the whole process over again.

Last night was insane, he was up and screaming every hour, I feel as though I drugged him WAY to much last night, it was either Vidol or Ponstel or Teejel every time he woke up... hopefully I wont make him an addict to anything!

2KM - I hear what you are saying, and DH completely agrees with you (and in all honesty, so do I), I do believe it was a bit extreme especially since we knew exactly what the problem was. I spoke to her about it this morning and told her that I can afford to keep taking J to the Dr whenever she has a fear its something else. I am not going to drop him off at creche if he is indeed sick! She said she understood!

KarateMum - the appraisal went well, got a nice 94% and got told that my boss has absolutely no complaints... I guess I am hiding my internet addiction to forums and blogs very well

Fawhaway - thats so exciting that you will be in CPT for a few weeks. Is it for a holiday? I wish we could go away for a holiday - feels like forever since I had a break!

Lauren, I hope Jensen is feeling much better.

Noah's 2nd molar at the bottom also emerged last week and he was all weak when he got home Thursday afternoon. The Daycare was so understanding on Friday and allowed me to bring him in as getting off on a Friday is a schlepp. He had a temp of 39 and I sent some Ponstan along. I wont send him to Daycare if I know it's something contagious but I know he is teething and just really not handling it well, shame man.

When the measles outbreak happened too, it was very hot and J had a bit of a heat rash and I got called immediately to take him for blood tests to make sure.

Its understandable with all the contagious stuff, but for teething - I can believe she wouldnt just accept my word for it!

Lauren, I am sure she is a great Day Mom and I am not saying it is otherwise. I appreciate the same kind of strictness with Illness at my Kids school. I jsut can't beleive she would not let you bring him to school eventhough the doctor had given the all clear.

Hi there. karatemum i also grew up with no tv in our bedroom. however we have a bedroom and a kitchen and bathroom and thats it. we are waiting for my sister in law to take her stuff out the garage which is connected to the bedroom and then make that our bedroom and our bedroom will become the lounge once we have bought a lounge suite. its nice and cold here today with some rain. 17 days til i come to cape town and can't wait. i have already started to pack my bags. lol. im going to be staying a bit longer though and be there for a month. my mom has to go for an op

2kidmamma, burst eardrums? ouchie My son only had earinfection when he was bout 8months and not again. My hubby also had problem ears when he was small so I take extra care. Never let them get wet, although our house dr said they should actually get a bit of water now and then to help rinse out the wax. Also I dont use earbuds and things to clean, just the tip of the washcloth in the bath to clear out the outside bits. I never put him down flat with his bottle as I heard that can cause infections too. Sister Lilian has a ear remedey in her natural remedies and whenever he gets a cold I give him that too just in case Dont know if anything I said will help.

Misty and Karatemum, thanks for the tips. He normaly goes barefoot whole day, just socks. But we took him yesterday and made him walk from mommy to daddy just supporting his arms with our fingers so he can walk a few steps then as soon as he gets to mommy leave his arms then he took those 2 steps on his own. He really loved it so we will keep doing that leaving him for longer periods to walk on his own, maybe that will boost his confidence and make him realise he can actually walk on his own
