Hi ladies. I've been having a rough couple of nights with Liam. He now wakes up every 1.5 to 2 hours for a feed! He does eat solids and i hoped it would atleast stretch his sleep a few hours but no luck. I don't mind waking up once or twice a night but 5-6 times is really getting me down.
Girly, K is a beautiful baby and a strong one too. Re clothes, can you not return some of them? Some gifts that Liam received still had tags on them so i just took them back to the store and said it was a gift and exchanged it for what i really needed. I hope you got some much needed sleep.
Yaz, yay for Lilly sleeping well. I hope you don't have to go back to work until next year.
Nikki, i'm glad P is taking to the cot and that you have some help. I can't remember the last time i had a long shower.
Gerne, not long to go now. You must be so excited. Ruben will come when he's ready. He's a big boy too. Liam was 3kg at birth and 5 days overdue but thank God he wasn't a big baby so i could give birth naturally.
Bronz and Patty, how was the night without your DHs? I've only spent a few nights away from DH and its really hard for me to fall asleep when he's not there.
Have a good day mommies.

Hi ladies

Gerne, glad everything went well with your appointment. I must admit I had a wonderful fantastic pregnancy right to the end, no morning sickness or complications other than milk aches and discomfort. I wore high heels right to the end!

@Claudia - I used to swaddle Peyton tightly at te beginning. I lighly swaddle her now leaving her arms free and she fights to get out.

@Girly - hope you are getting some rest and that Ms K is sleepig better. I can totally empathise as P was also not sleeping after 23h00 feed. Lack of sleep is making me bad tempered and I hate feeling like that.
So cute re-K laughing. Please let me know which photographer you are going with for the shoot, I also want to book a shoot with P after her 3 month birthday.

@Yaz - happy birthday to Lilly! I love her smily pics on FB she is gorgeous!
Re - formula. When P was born, the nurses had to give er formula top ups and they used Nan, so that is what we got. I stated introducing a bottle quite early on but only with expressed milk in the beginning. Started formula when it became difficult to express as I didn't always have the time. She has normally one formula bottle a day however on some days she only has breastmilk. It really depends if I'm oing out or not etc.

AFM - P is taking most of her naps in her cot now though still prefers to get married

My mum is here helping which is a HUGE bonus for me as P loves hour. Gives me a brrak to tale long showers, et.

Hope you all well

hi all.

Yaz i'm so glad that you've seen improvement with lilly this last week. Its really awesome for you!
You've really helped keep me going, actually seeing it get better. Thank you!
Next week monday and tuesday the weather looks miserable. Maybe we can do wednesday lunch? Will sms you.

So i have to touch wood cos everytime i say something good it usually gets worse again. But we had a pretty good day today. I went shopping for 2hrs after expressing milk for K. This afternoon she slept quite a bit, allbeit on me, so we mostly just lay and watched series. In laws popped by early evening and mil gladly took her off my hands for a bit. It almost went rear shaped shortly after they left she threw up all over me. But then she fed again and went back to bed again just before 10:30. And then went 6 whole hours before waking up at 4! Just hope she'll do a 3hour stretch now then i will have caught up on some much needed sleep.
Oh and while the grandparents were here she smiled lots for them and also laughed for the very first time! How awesome!

Shame on a sad note. Someon i know distantly through a friend lost her 4 month old twin girl to pneumonia last night. Its such a sad situation as they had ivf and are on the older side. her husband died shortly after they fell pregnant. Then had the babies 2 months early. This little girl had downs, had a heart op, intestinal op and reflux op and finally came home and was home for 2 months then contracted pneumonia this week and just died. So sad for her. Makes me appreciate K so much more ever day even when its a bad day.

Gerne you asked about Kaylee's heart the other day. She was 7 days old when she had the op. The main artery out of the heart which supplies alone to the body had a very bad narrowing that was obstructing bloodflow almost entirely and causing very high pressure in the heart. They had to surgically widen the artery with an artificial patch. That was 7 weeks ago. She is doing so well now. We saw the cardiologist on tuesday and he is very satisfied he didnt even do an echo. Will do one in January. She still has a couple other conditions, one being palmenary stenosis which if it gets worse would require open heart surgery, and the other being a bi-cuspit value where most of us have tri. Just means 2 leaflets instead of 3 so harder work and more pressure. It will e eventually require surgery but so far docs say it could only be required as an adult. So we have been very fortunate and jonx she will be fine and is in the best hands possible with some of the world's best heart specialists and surgeons! Sorry for my long explanation.

Yaz no way re work! November doesn't give you ouch time to prepare! Why the sudden change!
I'm also hoping to go back to work in january. But right now i'm unemployed. So it all depends when i can secure a job. Because the industry im in is very small as far as jobs go so if i find something next month i cant exactly pass it up and be without one. Only problem is its in town which means an extra long day and time away from home. Really not keen on that. But bills need to be paid. I need to start working on this next week as there are a few options but i cant leave it any longer.

Now that ive written the world's longest post, let me go back to bed as little one all finished.

Hi everyone,

Please excuse my absenteeism, I'm too lazy to type on my phone at night nowadays and Lilly has been sleeping well anyway (thank God!).

Gerne, I can't comment cause I had a very easy pregnancy and loved every second til the end, never felt uncomfy except maybe for the bloody heartburn. Not much longer to go for you though :) Re the BF: I struggled for 4 weeks but I was determined to stick it out and I'm so glad I did. Just make use of all the support you can get and make sure you get the latching right - it's SO important and can save you a lot of tears! La Leche League is great!

Girly, hunni, I'm so sorry for what you are going through! I wish I could help you somehow! We still need to get together! Don't worry, just keep ranting away, at least it helps you get some weight off your shoulders!

Nikki and Bronz, I understand you are combining breast and formula feeding? DH and I are considering to replace one feed with formula in the hope that Lilly will take the bottle better when it's not breast milk. How did you introduce it? And what formula to use? Did you have any problems? I should probably consult the clinic sister or paed first?

I'm in a bit of a state as I might have to go back into the office sooner than expected (November instead of January - long story), but it still needs to be confirmed - well hopefully NOT! I'm not ready to leave my baby with someone else yet :( I'm anyway checking out all the options (nanny, daycare etc), just in case - not easy!

Hope everyone will have a good night with lots of zzzzzzz, especially you, Girly!! Thinking of you x

Hi ladies.

Girly sori to hear about ur exhausting days & nights. Hope tonite was much better. Your LG is so lovely, if Dr's r happy with her weight gain then don't stress urself.
I used to worry cos my tummy was small wen pregnant & my LG is very petite, people always comment negatively about it. Dr said comparing babies is like comparing bananas to cabbage

Bronz my DH is also away for weekend, I'm with his younger sister thou. Funny how I start being paranoid just cos he's not here! Double checked if al is locked & I'm not sleeping as comfortable. My mind is playing tricks here.
Hope u r good, enjoy this time with ur LO ;)

Gerne hope u r feeling better. Hopefully breastfeeding will also go well for you :)

A friend is having a birthday party for her 1yr old, so Una will be attending her 1st party. Hope we have fun :-)
evening going well so far, waking every 3hrs fo feeds.

How's everyone?

Back to sleep now, later
