Evening ladies

Claudia thanks for the tip. I tried it the other night, she fed at 7, so I fed her at 10. She was awake 3 hours later regardless. Will try it again one night when she decides to go to bed at a decent time, and not 11:30pm :(

Gerne glad all went well at your appointment! Sounds like you can get comfy. Are you on maternity leave yet?
Wow 3.4 is a healthy size for 37 weeks! K is only 4kgs now at 8weeks old :)

So I know we asked this before, but when did you stop evening burping? K is 8 weeks old now, but during the day she still has occasional vomiting, so dont think we're quite there yet?

Bronz voted :) some really cute babies there. Think it's gonna be a close one!

So yet another rough day. Today's 8 weeks - please tell me I'll get some relief soon cos this 'it'll get easier' is starting to sound like nonsense to me now.
Kaylee has been awake since her 3pm feed, sleeps in my arms for about 5-10minutes and then is awake again, same goes for swing or cot or moses basket.
She finally seems asleep, but still very lightly. In two minds about moving her to her cot, but mom needs sleep.
I just had a vita-thion and cup of coffee I'm that convinced she's not gonna sleep properly. I'm really exhausted. Last night she was up between 2am - 6am. Eventually DH took her at 6, so that I could get an hour sleep. I had like 3.5hrs sleep in total last night and now this.
Please excuse my ranting. I am just majorly sleep deprived and somewhat ticked off. People are always saying I must ask for help - but they forget that sometimes when I need it the most is when no one can do anything to help me - 3am or 3pm - everyone at work or sleeping themselves. DH himself has now gone to bed. He says he'll take her in the morning to help me, but honestly at this moment its now that I need the help. :(
Woe is me, I know. Sorry guys. Just wish I knew what to do to get her to sleep more deeply. She's not unhappy, but she really does need her sleep. And I'm sure eventually too little sleep can be bad for them.

Nikki thinking of you. Hope the camp cot is working out tonight and that you get some rest.

Bronz good luck without hubby tonight. Take the time to treat yourself and make it worth while for you.

I realized today that very sadly most of K's clothes I wont be getting much wear out of. Because she's so small, her 0-3month stuff is mostly winter, but by the time she's wearing them it'll be November sometime at the earliest and by then fleecy wintery stuff is almost useless or maybe only wearable for the first month.
And that means her 3-6month summery stuff will get little wear cos by the time she's in it it'll probably be feb, and only 1 or 2 months most of wear. Such cute little things the 3-6months stuff. Really hope it wont all go to waste. Gonna cost a fair bit to fill her wardrobe with smaller stuff.

Vash & Yaz where you?
Claudia hope you get a full nights rest tonight.

Gerne: My end was very bad, hence my induction. But in retrospect I should have held out. Oh well too late now. 3 weeks is so short.

Girly: You really have a gorgeous baby girl.

House is very quiet tonight. Hubby has gone away for the weekend. Boys weekend. Which is great for him, not so much for me. :P Single mommy and stuck at home.

Ladies I am going to be cheeky and ask you to vote for my baby. :)

So I had an apointment yesterday and Ruben is still very safe and sound. Lots of amniotic fluid and my cervix is far from ready to give birth. So the doc has climbed off the 'we can induce on the 12th' wagon and now said we will see how things look on the 22nd with my next apointment but i dont think he will be ready then also. I think he is going to sit tight till week 40.

He now weighs 3,4 and apparantly has a very big head (daddies head :) ). And we still have 3 weeks to go so i think he is going to be a very good weight.

Patty, unfortunately still a while till she will sleep through LOL I hear of some kids that at 4 still doesn’t sleep through.
I cant remember correctly but think H started sleeping through just after 1 – when I took the dummy away.
You must rather hope for the time that you don’t have to burp anymore, then its way easier, then you just pop the bottle in, wait for her to finish and sleep!

Claudia, I take dolomite, my preggy vites, folic acid. Apparently the dolomite has Magnesium and Calcium in. it works most of the time.

Ahh Girly, she is very small, but so beautiful!!!
Thanks so much for the tips and encouraging words on BF. I just all of a sudden yesterday got this huge urge to breastfeed LOL I now cant wait to have my LB and start breastfeeding. I just love the feeling (not the sore nipples) but the tingling feeling you get when he firsts latches – amazing!!!

Ahh girly, even in the pics she is tiny but gorgeous! She sounds normal regarding feeding- one ling stretch followed by shorter ones! Why don't you try a dream feed so that her long stretch takes you to 2? Basically you feed her when you go to bed without waking hher properly:)

Kaylee is now wide awake with dirty nappie, and wet clothes. We are in the lounge to not wake hubby. Gonna take a lot to get her back to sleep, I just dont have the energy so first replying here while swaying her.
Was really hoping we'd have a good night. What happened to a couple weeks ago where she'd go 4hrs between feeds at night? Now we get a 4/5 hr stretch from 7-12 (helps me nothing) and then 3hourly for 2 feeds and then 2hours till the last feed!
DH allowed me to nap after 9, but naturally I wasnt tired so probably dosed for 30minutes, and now will spend an hour (already been an hour since her feed) trying to get her to sleep, and then an hour from then she'll be awake again. So not looking good for me tonight.
Sorry for the vent but very frustrated by lack of sleep and really thought by 8 weeks it'd start getting a bit better.
I need chocolate :(

Gerne re breastfeeding. Those first 2 weeks are the very worst and almost unbearable. The only way I got through it was using a breastfeeding consultant. I had her come to my house once, and when I went for weekly weigh ins I came loaded with questions that would help me. Keep the Lanisoh on you at all times, get those breast packs that you can have hot and cold and make use of them, and as tough as it is, try persevere. By end of week 2 your nipples start getting used to it and it gets easier. Oh yes and if ever your LO doesnt latch properly, unlatch straight away and start over.

The last few weeks really are tough by then I think our bodies have had enough! I had bad psd in my pubic bone. Couldnt turn over in bed without having to carefully maneouvre my whole body. Feet so swollen only my winter slippers fitted, and dont forget the heartburn. But its amazing how quickly you forget that all once LO is here.

For those of you who arent on my facebook page, here are some pics of Kaylee. I need to upload more recent ones now, these are a few weeks old.

The pictures make her look bigger than she is. She's still very small compared to other babies. She's the weight that DH was at birth, and she's 8weeks old!

I really hope everyones Los are letting them sleep! James has been up at 2 the last few days and I must admit I've been very tempted to start shoving food in despite all the evidence suggesting that it makes no difference to sleep habits. Just need to grin and bear.

Gerne: shame, hope tonight is better. Are you getting enough salts and minerals for the cramps?? Often your prenatal vitamens don't have enough.
I also believe a big part of successful breastfeeding is confidence. Why don't you contact a leleche leader now to chat about your fears as they will make things difficult! As for cracked nipples, get a physio onspeed dial for lazer treatment if you need it:)
