Hello momies & ur LOs.

I've been so exhausted lately :( this headache isn't making things any easier.
wen do babies start sleeping thru de night? I need Una to reach that period soon, shoooo I need my sleep.
We've been waking every 3-4hrs for feeds, she goes to bed @ 19:00.

Luckily it rained here in Joburg yesterday, was very refreshing after the heat we've been having :)

Gerne the last weeks are such a drag, seems ur whole body is breaking down ;( take it easy, relax & take short walks (that used to help my aches & pains).

Good morning.

Im really feeling the pain of last few weeks of pregnancy. I cant remember that it was this hard with my LB. :(

So i had a cage fight with the devil last night. I had cramps in both calves, my hips are so sore i cant sleep on them, i cant sleep on my back, i got a cramp in my left bum  OMW im really falling apart.

Can you remember that it was this bad at your end???? Its horrible LOL

Girly, sorry to just ask like this, was it your LG that had a problem with her heart at birth? i now i saw something on FB and i did comment for strength but now im unsure.

I see there is a lot of ladies bfeeding, im so happy that i would be able to talk to you about it and get advice, with H i had terrible cracked nipples and only lasted 2 weeks :(. This time i want to feed for 4 months. (i am already getting sooooo scared)

Bronz, LOL i know that smell, vinegary, you are so right :)

Morning Ladies

Well G slept through for 2 nights and then woke at 12 :(. He is wide awake now, sitting here next to me watching me type. At least he is calm and quiet.

gerne: Lovely belly pic, not long now. How many days?

Girly: Congrats on the positive feedback. You are doing a great job with K.

Yaz: Glad to hear the move went well. Hope Lilly is still sleeping through. Why did you move from southern to Northern?

Graeme's feet some times have a bit of a vinegary smell especially if he has had socks on for a while.

Nikki I agree with Girly, Give her the dummy the first time. After that time give her her hand to suck so you dont need to keep giving her the dummy.

Sounds like rain is on the way and I has washing on the line. Maybe I should fetch it quickly.

Ok ladies I am going to attempt to get my boy back to sleep and if I dont guess I will get up and study.

evening girls.

So i had to feed K without her prompting now 6 hrs since her last feed. She's never gone this long before so didnt want to leave it longer. She must really have been enjoying her sleep to not wake up because now that she's latched she's defintely drinking like its been 6 hours. Only hope it doesnt wake her too much.

We took K to the cardiologist today. He is very happy with her progress and didnt even do a eco today. Will see him in Jan for an echo and again only annually. So nice for a doctor to be so happy with her progress. She is now officially over the 4kg mark, and is already 54.5cm tall.

Hope everyone is well.
Nikki hope you getting some zzzz's tonight. Well done on keeping K in the cot. Maybe try get her back to sleep without the pacifier once she loses it. Use her hand to teach her to self pacify?

Gerne sounds like you know what you're doing re birth plan. Always good to keep an open mind cos things happen for a reason and long as baby healthy.

Time to change and then hopefully back to bed. Its so warm tonight i only have her in a summer grow and swaddled.

Hey ladies. Yaz, great thats its a new house and a nights sleep through:) I see on facebook that you have terminators:)

@ Nikki, do you still swaddle? I swaddld james until he was about 4 months old:)

@ Girly, all babies are different. James also used to wake up when I put him down. He seems to have grown out of that now though.
As for how often I feed him, I dont keep time, If hes irritable I put him on the breast, if hes tired I put him on, if hes rooting I put him on, so sometimes he will go 4 hours and others he will go half an hour. Breastfed babies will not grow too fast. Girly might be putting more weight on now to make up the time that she was in ICU, and she may plateau out later. Continue to feed her when she needs it. If she feeds more often for shorter times she'll just be quenching her thirst with watery foremilk etc. I find it odd how many people will advocate demand feeding and then say they are feeing too often. My brestfeeding consult said this to me: Exclusive breastfeeding is a style of mothering. Babies suckle at the breast whereas they suck at a bottle. There is a difference, babies may need to suckle - but not for nutritive means, for comfort, for closeness, to help soothe etc... No other mammals limit the time or frequency of feedings of their young (or worry that they are gaining weight too quick/too slow etc...) Since stopping watching the clock, James has started sleeping better at night and been generally much happier. He hardly ever cries now:) I know doing this isnt for everyone, but it works for me:)

Hi Yaz

So funny that you mentioned the smelly feet! Just this morning I took off Peyton's socks and bent down to kiss her toes and I caught a wiff of smelly feet. Also found it cute!

Also enjoying the warmer weather and dressing her up in rompers and cooler lighter clothes.
