Hi Ladies

Had such a sad weekend, I can't recall if I told you guys that my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer 3 years ago well last week my step mom phones we must please come for a braai on saturday so of we went on saturday. My dad calls us together later the afternoon and tells us his oncologist said the cancer has spread to his lungs his limpnodes basically his whole boddy his gal bladder is enlarged and to top everthing of his has jaundice (Gilbert Syndrome) the doc told him not to make any plans for next year cause he doubts my dad will be here so long. My dad is having his last chemo session on monday and then it's just pain killers and the wait. You know it's easier getting a phone call and just all of a sudden someone has passed but it's a different story if you sit and wait for that phone call that can happen anyday now... and the saddest part is is we have all only been getting on since my lg's birth that bought us all together as a family I just felt like crying the wholdeday today walked in the spar and that song up where we belong plays and I start balling my eyes out.

Will do personals later...cant's see through the tears

Hi there

Yvette - No luckily no baby blues for me just missing my mom a lot. By the way I love your FB status it is so true. And I came to the conclusion that all men are the same, they may look different but the opperate the same way. i am getting up 3 to 4 times during the night for feeds, but he is the one that is tired!

Ster - The age difference between my girls are 2.5 years and for me that are great for the post 2 days the oldest 2 played so nicely together and enjoyed each other that it made me feel real proud. You should realy have more even if it is just one more, cause for me it doesnt seem right to have only one child if it is possible to have more. O and I feed on demand aswell, hopefully we will get a routine in a months time.

Vix - Sorry to hear about the collic. Are they sleeping on there tummies or not? I know they say that babies should not sleep that way, but my midwife said its the only way to sooth cramps during the night and it works for us.

O yes Yvette you should not feel guilty about the way you gave birth. All that matters are the fact that Emily are well. I believe that everything happen the way it is suppose to. The "what if's" will make you go crazy, it is the past and there is nothing you can do to change it. Just enjoy Emily it is so satisfying to be a mom.

I need advice. Something I eat gives Bernice cramps and I don't know what. I don't eat onions, garlic or greens. Can it be sugar or is it only collic? Every day from 5pm till 8pm is a nightmare. During the night she is fine.

Have to go - crying baby!!!!!!

Vix - sorry to hear about Jono. Inge had a bad Wednesday & Thursday evening with Colic. I eventully called my one friend that used to be a sister and she advise me to rather change to Soya milk. She said it is the lactose that causes the cramps etc.

Any way, I changed Inge's milk (again) to Isomil and touch wood so far so good. I give her Buscopan at about 17:00 and Bennets with her next feed. She drinks 80ml (Isomil) every 2-3 hours but then she has a 5-6 hour gap between her next two feeds. I really hope that I don't have to change her milk again. I am feeding on demand now and not according to the clock. I have tried to keep a 4 week old happy because the clock says another hour but it just causes a lot of crying,

I wasn't very impressed with DH but he does travel a lot and sooner or later I have to get use to it.

Morning ladies,

Sorry for being so scarce, I do read I just find it difficult to reply sometimes when my hands are full.

We had a BAD session with the colic on wednesday and DH and I were both up for 2hrs in the night trying everything to control it. The bennetts doesn't seem to be working anymore so we're back to plain old heat packs and riding it out.

I'm really looking forward to getting past this newborn phase, it sucks!

Maryke- if you still want to come for coffee I'm free any day except friday this week because then I'm babking a baby shower cake and the day could end up quite messy.

Ster- sorry your DH is leaving you alone, grrrr you're going to be one tired mommy after that.

Binks- sorry you're still bleeding hun, not much fun!

C-sec mommies- did any of you get your period yet? I'm still waiting nearly 8w later. And no I'm not preggers again!

Carmen- are you all organized for the arrival of your princess? I'm so excited for you being your first LO and all.

Lizelle, MarieR, Fairy, I hope you're all holding up in the heat with your bellies! Exited for the arrival of more babies to the group!

Chris- how you coping? When does the day & night nurse dissappear? How you feeling health wise now? And the A-Team? Pics please.

Jono's colic is driving me mad again so gonna go, will catch you later xxx

Morning Ladies

Hope you are all well?

No complaints on this side.

Maryke - thanks for the info re creche. Inge will be staying home with my maid once I go back to work. We are planning for her to stay at home for the first year or two - will see how it goes.

Yvette - they say it is difficult to have the kids so close to one another but once they are bigger it is better. I said to DH the other night does he really want another child (Inge was crying at that point) and he said "as soon as possible". I will have more - I just don't like it if she cries.

Mina - Moms are so special - I hate to think that my Mom is leaving again at the end of January. I have tried again to have them move from CT to J'burg but my Dad is not falling for it. They would just have to come up more often!!!!!!!

Binks - my DH also p!ssed me off. Phoned me on Friday afternoon to say that he has to take equipment to Durban (and must help on site as the project must be finish and the guys are struggling) and will only be back on Tuesday. This after he knows my folks are with my brother for the weekend and I am all alone. I am so tired and then he phones to tell me how tired he is - ai, ai, ai

Lizelle - amper jou tyd ne?

binks - i'm with you the DH thing, mine sleeps leka at work and comes home, wants dinner ready (in a nice way), i must bath children and put to bed, then He wants to watch tv then He wants to work on his ocmputer business will 11pm-12pm then He puts earplugs in when we go to bed then He snores away till morning. nice life. love that man dearly but he can annoy me. check my FB status update, very fitting hey?

no man is truly married until he understands every word his wife is NOT saying!

i tried em on a bottle the other night with breastmilk to see if she will take it so that craig can do a night feed this week. she absolutely refused. she gagged then lay there with her mouth open. absolutely no reflex to suck that. will have to try other bottles. that was the wideneck nuk teat.

crap i'm tired. shit i wish this baby came in 2yrs time. it just feels too hard sometimes. ashley is still a baby herself and will only understand by the time she is 3, but by then, HE will be asking for another son. grrr. no more for me. very verrrrrrry sorrrrrrry dude.

mina - think i;m gonna go to my mom tomorrow too. hope you are ok. do you have baby blues or are you just missing your mom? lovely that you have such a nice relationship with her.
