Ster- here's my 2c worth on the feeding but it's just advice so please you don't have to take it.

There should always be 10ml left over in a baby's bottle when they have had enough to drink, that way you know they have had as much as they would like, if they start to drink the bottle empty then it's time to up the feed another 10ml. You don't have to give the full amount of milk made up so one more scoop would be another 25ml but if you make a batch of milk say 175ml and split it between 2 feeds then you won't have as much wastage. I make up the formula in batches of 250ml and just pour into the bottles exactly what I need so Jono is on 90ml and Alex is on 110 so. I use 200ml each feed and keep the other 50ml to add to the next bottles. Just keep it in the fridge but it will keep for up to 24hrs. Feeding every 3hrs is fine, don't let it go any less with formula or it will cause cramps from over feeding. What I would suggest is you stop offering her the left over 20ml 30min later. She drinks what she needs in the initial feed then she must wait until the next feed 3hrs later. Because what she's doing now is drinking until she gets tired (that's the 80ml) then taking a little breather and finishing off. So she will never take the entire feed in one go because she knows she doesn't have to. I have heard a lot of people say Nan gives their baby winds, I must say I only ever used lactogen and it worked very well, my boys seem happy on it. Change if you really want to but it probably won't mean she'll stretch her feeds to 4hrly because she is already in the habbit of 3hrly. I had Alex on a 4-5hr routine before Jono came home but Jono was on a 3hr routine so as soon as jono got home Alex switched to 3hrly. They also always wake up so hungry they could eat my arm off.

As for wanting more kids........ No ways, I wanted 2 I was blessed with 3 and that's where it stops. It's too expensive to educate and maintain children these days and it's not all about how many babies I want but more so how many expensive teenagers can I afford in 15 years time. Now we are a family of 5 will fill every seat in the car, if I have another baby I will have to change my car to a 7 seater and only ever hire 7 seaters, sounds pathetic but we can't afford to go buying nice big cars. Also my body is tired of being pregnant and having C-secs, I've had 2 of both and now it's time for my body to rest. I say that actually I wish I waited 3 years beteen C and the tweenies so can you imagine how many years I would want to wait to have a 4th child? Oh no, I don't want to be only just falling pregnant when I'm 33, I started my baby journey at the age of 25 and thankfully finished at 28. I don't like the baby phase so much anyways. Oh and I'm totally not into laat lamatjies, my dad re married and had more kids when I was 11 and it wasn't nice to grow up as a live in babysitter, I don't want to do that to my kids. Oh and one last excuse....... I fell preg naturally with twins, which means my body has the ability to over ovulate, imagine it happened again and I got more twins. No sorry I have definately had enough, now it's time for me to regain my body for myself and DH and regain our freedom to take nice fun holidays in the bush. Roll on the next 2 years so my boys will enjoy our trips.

Yvette- I had those bleeding accidents the first time around so this time I have worn a pantyliner every day even thoguh I stopped bleeding after 4 days. I will continue to wear a PL until my period returns (which I feel will be very soon.

O.k knacjered now, will come back later

Xxxxx

Oh hi again Asp! Xxxx

yip ster, not long to go for the move! 5 more days :)
still PLENTY of days before baby though!!

Asp - remember you can have your show 2 weeks before labour starts and that mucous plug can replenish itself and you carry to 40 weeks. so don't be too disappointed if nothing happens over the weekend! hang in there!!

Hi Girls

Only have time for a quick reply.

My ML is keeping me so busy (hie-hie). Actually I have been helping out at Hubby's business since his accounts girl is off for 2 days. Only coming back Monday. Her hubby had an emergency op and she has to babysit him. I am so not liking my Hubby as much.

In any case, I think I had my show over an hour ago.Very light pink, but unlike anything I have had before. So waiting patiently to see what happens. No cramps yet.

Been to dr on Wed and was 36 weeks. Adriaan weights 3.2kg and is healthy as a fiddle.

So, I am thinking tonight or tomorrow.

A huge congrats to everyone who had their babies.

Carmen, great pics. You make pregnancy look good! (Unlike me....)

Vix, Maryke glad the twins are doing so good.

Chris, I read your post and cried. Not fair my friend, but I know everything happens for a reason. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Got to go.

Will try log in more - sorry girls.....

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well?

We are well on this side. I took Inge for her 2 week check up on Tuesday. She weights 4.08kg, 54cm tall and head circumference = 37cm. Sister was happy with her as she is average.

I have a question. I increased her milk to 100ml and 4 scoops but she seldom finishes her 100ml. She will drink about 80ml and about half an hour later she will either finish the bottle or leave 10ml over. My mom is concern that the NAN is not strong enough for her. She does get cramps from the milk - not too bad and I add some gripe water to her 08:00 and 15:00 feed. She also still drinks every 3 hours except for 1 feed at night where she will drink every 4-5 hours (22:00 - 02:00). According to the sister at Storks Nest the milk is good for her as she is picking up the correct amount of kg. Now for the question - is she supposed to finish her bottle and does it sound okay to still feed every 3 hours? She is extremely hungry every 3 hours - almost eating off her hands - do I carry on with NAN or to I change to Lactogen?

Chris - hope you get better soon friend.

Vix - are you sure you don't want another LO in a year or two?

Maryke - the twins are picking up weight nicely ne?

Carmen - stunning photos

Aspoestertjie - how are you?

Lizelle - vasbyt - min dae nou vir jou

Binks - your little one is too quite

Yvette - sorry about the bleeding - luckily you had dark pants on. Em is picking up nicely too

Meags- time is running out for you too? Both pregnancy and moving.

That's it from me for now. Apologies if I missed somebody
Great having my parents here - my mom is such a good granny - I fear for when she goes home - a lot of crying

Hi all, thanks for the comments on the pics.

Yvette - congrats on Em's wonderful weight gain! Big oops on the bleeding! Lucky you were wearing dark pants, saved you further embarrasment.

Lizelle - glad you feeling better amd recovering from the flu.

Vix - the CTS is so strange, mornings are worse, when it aches in my wrists and I grip things properly, my middle fingers stay numb all the time, like the circulation has been cut off. Julie said she had it too and it will pass after the birth.

Morning ladies,

Lizelle- I don't think the clamps should cause any change in hormones except that if you're someone who needs the pill for moodswings etc then you might suffer those again but the clamps don't have any hormones and they don't stop ovulation they just stop the eggs passing to the uterus so it'll be the same as when you were on no contraceptives.

Maryke- how much Lactogen are your boys drinking? My boys have been sleeping 4-5hrs twice at night since day one so I'm putting them to bed around 9 getting up once around 1-2 (o.k it takes at least an hour to feed and settle them both again) then they wake 6-7ish so I really don't have a tough night. They go 3-4hrs during the day, changing from BM to formula hasn't made much difference to their sleep but I hope it will help their weight.

I have booked the boys for their 6w jabs on Monday. I have to do it in PTA because Ekhuruleni doesn't have govt stock of the prevenar and rotovirus and there's no ways I pay private for 2 babies. So I just nip through to a lady in PTA east and she gives me everything on the govt schedule and I just pay R75 per baby consultation fee. And it's close there to MommyN so I can meet for coffee at least once a month Yay!!!! (Well if she'll have me for coffee that is LOL)

Ster- how is Inge? How much is she drinking now? And weight?

Chris- I hope you are holding up, I wish I could do something to ease this time for you, you guys at least deserve an easy enjoyable time. I hope Ricky is surviving with the A-Team, you guys are both such amazing people you are so good for each other.

Yvette- how are my future DIL's?

Carmen- how's the CTS?

Hi everyone else
