Morning Ladies

Sjoe, the rain and thunder was stunning - wind was a bit hectic.

Maryke, I am with Dr Wium and yes, I will be giving birth at Clinton. And you?

Thought I would share this with you ladies (sorry I know it is a bit long)

BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your doctor confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.

Preparing for the Birth:
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby : You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.

The Layette :
1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, colour coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?

Worries:
1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby.
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the ! mechanical swing.

Dummy:
1st baby: If the dummy falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the dummy falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle..
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

Nappies:
1st baby: You change your baby's nappy every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their nappy every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their nappy before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.

Activities:
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.

Going Out:
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached...
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.

At Home:
1st baby : You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

Swallowing Coins:
1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass.
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin, you deduct it from his pocket money.

hallo ladies

vix I am in the same boat as you my friend, my babas heads are down already and it's flippen sore if my hubby or lg touches my belly I want to vomit it's so sore, it feels like I have constant pins and needles in my v area and my back is killing me, sleeping is becoming a problem at the moment and now with the rainy season my lg gets scared I was up with her till 12 last night then got hearburn had eno's naughty I know but that didn't even work then half hour later I started gettting so annoid went don't stares and had a glas of milk and I got a bit of relieve...we just have to hang in there my friend every night it feels like my water is gonna break any minute with all the pressure

chris chris chris eish I don't want to know how you coping my friend I think I want to cry for you if I know what I am going through

Sterretjie I keep forgeting to ask you, with which gyne are you and are you going to give birth at the Clinton?

Chris love the little hedgehog, I am not that big on animals I love cats but we have a little minature poodle for my lg shame I actually feel sorry for the poor mutt my lg keeps torrorising her and there's two more on it's way hubby want's to get a new pup and I said hell no so he goes but if we get a new pup you can have a cat, my hubby hates cats so he must really want a dog, I said when the twins are two we can get another pup but I am not raising a pup now with twins

Isn't the rain wonderful (in Gauteng)!!! Sorry for those stuck in traffic though....

Just a quick one. Has anyone ordered things from the UK or USA online? I have never even tried, but I see such nice things. I am so battling to find unisex stuff here. What I am really after though, is a Buddy Blankie for the new baba, Sarah has one from Carters (USA) that someone sent her and they are sending another one, but identical - and I really dont want the baba to have the identical one. I cant say anything, but dont mind getting the same, because now I'll have a spare for Sarah - battling to get this one washed too! $12 there, and here I saw ones for R28... Kids Emporium rip-off!

Anyone who gets their kids used to a comforter, just remember and try to have a back up one! I am thinking of trying Amazon.com... hope our post office doesnt let me down!

Vix - and everyone - sending you all lots of positive energy that the baba's will stay put for as long as possible! Vix, I think you will feel better after your Dr's visit tomorrow! I cant belive you are 30 weeks already!!!

When does the third trimester officially start?

sorry for being so quiet, was reading all your posts though in my email inbox...but so busy this last week - just the usual stuff being a working mom and wife.

In previous post's you talked about when your little ones turned head down - well i will never forget the day my LB decided that it's time- it was so "eina". Was a very warm day, and when i went to go shower early evening (i was 31weeks and i think his head was to my left or right side) just as i entered the shower he turned...i could see him turn...but it all happend so quick. Hope i don't feel or will know when this one turns.

Chris love your baby names - so cute all the A's, and then the Hedgehog sounds to cute as well.
We only have 2 doggies (Field Spaniel and Staffie) and 2 birds.

MommyN - The Dairy Farm sounds nice, hope you had a great day!

ps i sent the letter to my boss saying that i may not travel more than 150km out of ct at any time from now on. still no reply from him. nervie nervie nervie!

vix - i am also emotional about the birth. infact, i still cannot watch the video's of when we had ashley last year, while i was in theatre. its too hardcore. i still cry. your boys' are just fine. my DH has transported many little ones, some as tiny as 800/900g. he is a paramedic and believe me, he has full confidence that your little guys will be fine. take a deep breath and enjoy this time you have at home. i wish you knew how lucky you are to me. you can bring your own children up - i have to pay someone to do it. there is no chance on this green earth that i can stay home. ashley was born at 36 weeks and she was perfect! smaller than the other babies on the nursery... but they say the sucking reflex is at the strongest then... and she latched like a pro. piggy.

chris - take it easy friend!!!!!!!!!!! glory, but i don;t know how you do it! untill what week are your dr's hoping to keep the babies inside till? he'll prob give you steroid injections for their lungs.

gosh, i went to dischem today bought one pack doekies for ashley in the 4+ and one pack of number 2's in pampers, NAN HA (which is about R20 cheaper than other shops), nappy sacks; and a few other things. bill was R704. felt like hurling. also got that sudocreme stuff for ashley's cheeks- exzema. hope it works or just even helps?

hope every one feel sbetter tomorrow - i also battled today. work is getting hard for me now,

Chris- I have been reading multiple birth stories and re watching in the womb multiples, I think just desperately trying to understand how small they will be if they're born early. I feel a lot better having got to 30w but still desperately holding out hope I can get to 36w and bring the babies home with me. I'm starting to get quite emotional when I think about the birth, I was tearing up watching the DVD.

I think it's probably wise for you to start taking it a bit easier, I know how I'm suddenly struggling with discomfort since about 26w and I have one less than you, good job you're nice and tall! Wow my body would've given up by now with 3 I promise you! That's the problem being a short sh1t as DH calls me LOL

MommyN- mmmmm no fair DH sending you shopping tomorrow! My DH is constantly on my case to stop doing things. Only there are some things a woman just can't trust a man with like choosing baby clothes or my maternity bras LOL

I have been super lazy today, doing nothing putting my feet up and although I'm sore when I stand up the pain is not nearly as bad as it has been the past few days so maybe I will just have to do things in short bursts for the next few weeks.

I have a bit of a headache now actually, should also probably be making dinner...... Oh well, will catch up later. Have a good evening ladies
