Morning!
I see Checkers has the jars of Purity 1 on specal. Buy 3 get 1 free.
Assorted. R4,69 each. Not sure if this is a good price?

Chan, shame, I cant give you any advice for wed night, but will be thinking of you!

Ah Chris, meant to say last night, the trips are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! They are so strong and happy! It was great seeing you! I was also thinking, you should try look at the Baby-Led-Weaning thread - with 3 littloe ones, perhaps you can encourage them to feed themselves from as early as possible - will really help you! Sarah loved it, and I can see Nathan is even more into feeding himself! Take a look!

Suhaila, are you still doing the baby-led-weaning thing? Its great and a lot of fun!

Happy friday everyone!

Hi!

MommyN i'm so glad you're starting to feel better! Nathan is doing wonderfully!

Ster I hope Inge is ok and on the mend now! Shame poor little thing. It must be awesome having your mom there to look after her - enjoy every minute!

Well Kade is going into hospital on Thursday to have grommets put in. The fluid hasn't cleared at all even with all the antibiotics, nose sprays and Aterax we've given him. The Dr did a timpanic test on both his ears and the line was totally flat for both ears. It's supposed to make a graph like pattern on the machine and both his were just flat lines. So if we don't put the grommets in it basically means he'll end up with speech problems etc and I don't want that at all.

So the major problem is nothing to eat / drink from 12am the night before??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How the hell do you starve a baby for almost 8 hours??? Kade drinks every 3 hours no matter what? I'm so stressed about this - way more than the operation.

The Dr said he doubts Kade had colic all this time. He said he thinks the thing he used to do with him tummy was him trying to sit up so that the fluid wasn't hurting his ears. Imagine 6 months of hell all because of his ears and not one of the paed's or GP's I took Kade to even picked up fluid in his ears! I took him to the ENT specialist without any referral!! ARGH it makes me so mad!

Hope everyone else is doing great and all the babies are growing beautifully!

Hi there everyone!

We are still around, I am so sorry for being MIA, I just dont touch sides and when I do, its late at night and I dont have the energy or warmth to sit at the computer! Terrible I know!

I do keep track of everyone and everything, thank goodness for FB!

So our news... or update.

Nathan is now over 7 months old, shjoe! Last week he weighed just on 6kg, but he had about 5 layers on and a wet nappy, so I guess about 5,8kg. The Dischem was so cold, I wasnt changing him there! So far just a snotty nose about 2 months ago, and of course the reflux, but it really is getting so much better. I am still too scared to totally stop the Losec, but he is now only on half a tablet and very seldom do I give the gaviscon or similar thing. I sometimes forget the tablet and he is fine, but if I dont give it 2 days in a row, he is so niggly and oopsie.

He is really getting strong on his tummy, I think its because he sleeps on his tummy. He rolls when he has to, but is lazy to roll. He does leopard crawl, especially across the bed (in like 5 secs!) He tucks his head in but has the leg/foot to arm co-ordination pretty right, so I think as soon as he learns to keep his head up, he'll be moving around more. He seems a lot quicker on this than Sarah and he was prem! But the kids really are so different!

Its a real pleasure to have him wake up in the mornings because he just laughs and talks away! As for Sarah, she wakes up and is clingy and grumpy! So he is my saving grace in the mornings :-)

They are doing so much better together! Always looking for eachother and they seem to talk to eachother! They really connec, and I can wish for nothing better than for the 2 of them to love one another. Being an only child myself I cherish seeing this! DH doesnt get on at all with his sister, and speaks to her once in 2 years when there is a family crisis, he only speaks to his parents if I make him call, and they are a few kms away. Sad, so I think he will also enjoy it if the kids are close!

Quite funny, today Nathan just had eyes for Sarah's dolly! Dh thinks I am totally mad, but I am not pushing him to play with it, it just sits at the right height for him and has nice coloured clothing on! And I think because its Sarah's favourite toy at the moment, also has something to do with it!

Did you guys all see the picture Joli took on SUnday of some of our boys? Its on the Feb thread and FB. The boys are such a gang already!

I was battling to get Nathan to eat a little while ago and I thought I would have a 6 year old still on rice cereal being force fed by his mother! But once again, time proved the answer. About 3 weeks ago he just stared loving it! He is now on 3 meals and snacks in between. Eating anything and everything just about! His favourite if a whole babana - I cannot feed him, he holds it and munches away! It doesnt seem to give him too many cramps, but I dont give it everyday. Its so much easier with Sarah around too, because now they share a pear or avo together. Some days he wont eat for me and when I look Sarah is feeding him and he is happy as can be! Messy, but happy! He is defnitely a baby-led-weaning-baby kind of guy! He has the crust of my toast (with butter - something I would never have allowed with Sarah LOL) and a bit of whatever she has! I also started doing rice for him and he loves that.

I want to start some tea or water, but am thinking of skipping a bottle and going onto a cup, but I'll see in a while. I am really not rushing anything.

So thats my news, what else? No teeth, not much hair, looks the splitting image of a baby-Sarah, loves his mommy but goes to anyone, thats about it!

Chan, glad you are getting grommets done! I hope its your answer! Am sure!

Sterretjie - hope Inge is better. The babies really do bounce back! As fast as they go down, they get back up, with everything! You probably wont believe that she was in hospital a day ago!

Suhaila, congrats on the crawling!

Binks, hope vanya is better soon!

I cant remember who, but while we were preggies, someones sister was not well and diagnosed with cancer, I have been thinking of you! Saw a friend today who has not been well and my best friends mom has been in and out of remission for a while, it just breaks my heart!

AFM, I am still suffering with the PND a bit, things have been tough but I am trying to pull myself through. Tons better though! I guess it will get easier from here on.

I am sure there is more and lots of people I am missing out on, but I will try be more online!

Have a great evening everyone! And take care of yourselves and little ones in this cold weather!

love and hugs

Hi Ladies

Sjoe, what a week - hope yours had been better.

Suhaila - stunning on LO crawling - cannot wait for Inge to be a bit more mobile

Lizelle - your daughter is so cute

Binks - sorry to hear LO is sick - hell it is a bad winter

Chan - congrats again with Kade's christening - he looked so cute.

Mandz - strongs for your sister!!!!

Vix, Chris, Maryke and all the other ladies are all well

AFM - Inge kept on coughing over the weekend and everytime she would be vomitting to the extent that I was so gatvol of changing and washing her. Any case on sunday evening we couldn't get her to settle and she kept on vomitting (Chan at that point I so much thought of you and take all my hats off for you - how do you manage?). Any way at about 22:30 we took Inge to ER and a very nice doctor was there to help. He send her for xrays of her chest and we were told that they are admitting her as she is starting with bronchitis. So I went home with DH to drop him off and went back to the hospital (this was now at about 01:00). She was so restless that I only manage to get her to sleep at 03:00 - by this time I was finished. Long story short on Monday they sent her stool and urine away for testing as well as some phlegm. We ended up staying two nights and the outcome was a light case of rotavirus as well as parainfluenza. Nothing they can do for her except nebulize and nose drops and nose spray and Prospon cough mixture.

I eventually let my mom flew up on Tuesday afternoon to come me as I cannot sent Inge back to creche for at least a week or two and I cannot rely on my maid to look after her. Inge is better but her cough is still bad but the Pead said that is one of the con's of parainfluenza - my poor baby.

I'm back at work today but it is so nice to have my mom there and to know my child is in good hands and Granny is having a ball!!!!!

Okay ladies keep your LO's warm and lets hope this winter is over soon
