Just remember that you are not to go the "Is it something that I did?" route. Please don't do that to yourself. As Rakker said the causes of Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate are unknown. You can't stress yourself any more. Take a deep breath and enjoy your LG's love messages in her kicks. I truly believe that things are going to be ok.

Your high level scan on Thursday might even rule out the need for an amnio.

Ok no Tanasha. I know this must be a shock. I can't give you real advice. All I can do is pray for you that all is ok.

I personally will never terminate a pregnancy, no matter what, so I would not do a amnio either. So I cant give you advice on that either.

Reg cleft lip. I remember when I was little we had a teacher with a son with a cleft lip. And I remember they fixed it. Even years ago there was things to do about it.

I hope all work out for you with your amnio, and that there is nothing more wrong.

In the meantime, enjoy your lg kicks. And enjoy loving her! It is the best for both of you!

I had a scan with the scan lady and then with the gynea aswell.

I will have a scan before the amnio Thursday, but I dont want to hold out too much hope

TaNasha if your 3D showed an intact lip - would you not consider going for a second opinion? Have another sonographer do your detailed scan and see what they say?
and if it is all the way through the jaw - technology is amazing these days and surgery can correct it

I have a High level scan or something like that and the amnio at a special hospital on the German border on Thursday at 3PM. I still feels so long till then

TaNasha they take about 2 tablespoons of fluid. They will do a scan before hand to check where your placenta is and to check the position of your LG as well as quantity of amnio fluid. They leave plenty of fluid and whatever fluid that is removed is replaced very quickly. They do advise that you keep your water intake up for a day or two before and then again afterwards.
