Tshepymo, Ora, is soooo cute and she is such a healthy wee lil girl. you have done soo well. @Kanyo i would think its what we call sugar and it slowly goea away i dont know why they call it sugar the elders. But i think seeking advice will help.
@MsDee, re maids its called love hate relationship you have with them and you just need to be patient as long as she is takaing care of the baby . Has she stopped spending time on FB and TV, maybe if you had gotten an older woman who understands responsibilities it might have helped, but just observe her. With me i always think that as long as they ae taking care of the baby the other issues i usually dont worry much about them. @Esmari i hope the 6 weeks goes as well and you are as lucky as i was with Lelam.

I go to the council clinic and the queues kill you bu the service is ok and well dont pay, the clicks and dischem in our area dont stock govt so you would pay cash of at leat R400 and the others R1600 which truly speaking isnt cheap.

AFus Lelam has started talking and smiling and we hope she changes her sleep patterns where she keeps us awake at night. My mom is spending her final week with us and am already worrying about how it would be like without her company but am grateful she was able to come and be with us.

Karien - I also take Jack to the Clicks for his shots but we opted for the gov ones and paid R75 for his 6 week shots! We are battling with Jack and a blocked nose and sometimes he also has a phlegmy vomit after feeds - we just assumed it was the fact its so dry in our room/house because of all the heaters.

Kanyo - maybe take her to a pharmacist first - they may offer some guidance or even a clinic sister. Does it look like its hurting her?

Tshepy - she is too cute :)

Our update - we are all good! Our new nanny is lovely and Jack seems to like her better than the old one (YAY) and I am slowly getting back into work. Jack is doing well - for the most part sleeping through and really is just such a pleasant happy baby!!

Karienh your little boy is beautiful and have such a lovely smile,
Rakker I also love the outfit thanks
Kganyo if you are too worried take her for a check up, the last time my baby had skin problem Paed told me to wash her face with plain water and not apply anything on her face and for the body he recommended Epi max body cream, apply it on the body before and after wash no shampoo or bath soap and it worked wonders, I wash my baby clothes with sunlight green bar Mommy' advise and use Sta soft baby flavor.

Winter is slowly but surely leaving I am really looking forward to summer, I am tired of staying indoors.

Tshepym she is beautiful! And so big!

MsDee, don't worry too much about the weight. If he is wearing 3-6 month already he must be a big boy. Keagan is wearing 0-3 but still fit in most of his newborn stuff and his weight is fine. Just make sure that his head and body measurements are bigger.

Where do find out where the goverment clinics are. I go to clicks and only have to pay for one of the injections, but that's almost R400

Esmari, I read about your sil - really thinking of them.

We are doing well - he still has trouble sleeping during the day and I hold him a lot of the time because he's a very grumpy baby if he doesn't get enough sleep. End of the month I'm going to buy fabric to make a mobywrap and hopefully it will make life easier.

I need some advice - he has had phlegm since birth and the paed said I shouldn't worry - but it's always there. His nose isn't block but sometimes you can hear it when he breathes. Should I just leave it or get something for it. We have 2 cats and I suspect is might be because of them.

Here's a photo of my gorgeous boy

Hi Kanyo. No idea what it could be, but if you are really worried (even if it might be nothing), go directly to a dermatologist. I might be a bit extreme (which I am usually not), but my son was treated for months and months for eczema by various GPs. This one old GP suggested a referral to a dermatologist and it turned out to be keratosis pilaris, a genetic skin condition that needs very specific treatment.

If he/she tells you it's nothing to worry about, it's a bonus. But even a paediatrician might get it wrong. I am almost sure my LG also has the condition (50% chance according to genetics), but when I told her paediatrician I think she is also presenting the condition, she disagreed. And I'm really not so sure she knows enough about skin conditions to make such a statement (and she is a very good paediatrician).

I am really frustrated her face had marks they start as small pimples and become dry changes to these burnt marks.
