Joyous just check with your doc. a mom asked if it was safe during pregancy and when doing research some said that the hospital may have a problem if you have to have a c section. Not sure how true this is.

Joyous as long as your nails are not too long it will be fine. Those extentions are not sharp at all so you will not scratch baby.

ok, i know this i a little bit off topic but i really need help.

i have always had acrylic nail extensions, for the past 3 years now! i've had gel nails done a couple of times as well, so now i'm thinking, will i be able to take care of a 'lil newborn with those nails? i mean i could have an overlay done instead, but can i breast-feed, change nappies, bath etc... a newborn with nail extentions? well, i'm thinking of having them very short but still, it costs me R380 per set so i don't wanna spend that kinda money and have to get them soaked off anyway (for a further 50 bucks!).

please help!

Ginah I forgot to mention that the baby bath and changing mat fit next to each other on my chest of drawers. It's a bit of a squeeze but it works well. So she comes straight out of the bath onto a towel on her mat. When she's finished bathing we remove the bath and then there is more than enough space. I have shelves above the chest of drawers for her nappies and bath stuff. I'll post a pic.

I also just dressed Kyle in a vest and babygrow.
I have this bath/compactum that Joli is talking about. I must say for me, I dont regret buying it although we didnt use the bath for long. It has nice storage space for all the bathing goodies, nappies etc. When I bathed Kyle, I would put the bathing seat in it, bath him and I had a changing mat on his chest of drawers to put him on afterwards. I still use the changing table to change his nappies and dress him.

Ginah - I'm talking about this bath. Unless you going to have another cupboard / bed where you will dress your baby, it's OK. Most first time moms buy this bath thinking to use it to dress / undress baby as well as bath baby in. Then you have to put the water in, close it again, undress baby, lift the lid, bath baby, take baby out and hold with one arm, put baby on top etc. etc. and then take the water out again. I hated it.
