Well Maureen 84 what a nice long post, WELCOME!
So many questions, let me start at the end. You should be taking folic acid for sure, the pregnancy vitamins some docs only recommend after 12 weeks, but at my 8 week scan my gynae said I could start taking them so he gave me 2 months free samples.
The no nos with food is anything raw - no sushi, only properly scrambled eggs - no runny egg, no liver pate, and no biltong and of course no alcohol. With meds what i had forgotten is you cant take anything with aspirin in it which includes medlemon and many headache meds, so just panado, some illiadin for nose or saline sprays and the new panado sips instead of medisips for colds... thats about it!
I also found out at 4 weeks and I felt nothing til about 5.5 weeks so good luck, hope you stay out of all the crappy symptoms! I did immediately have bloating and stomach issues at 4 weeks as well, but not with my first pregnancy that i can remember. My stomach also seems to be trying to "assume the position" and feels like it has pushed out and my clothes have been tight pretty soon, but at 8.5 weeks I am still in my regular jeans, but not all of my tighter pants feel comfy ALREADY!!
Glad you are excited about the smaller gap, - as everyone says - yes it will be harder in the beginning but the close ages will be blessing forever !!
My name is Mandy B - and my monster is Cameron at 2 yrs 6 months and i am pleased about my age gap
