Karatemum I have almost been through a whole container of Asic...perhaps I should switch to vomifene when this is finished.

Shame hun...medical bills SUCK! With my first pregnancy they diagnosed me with overactive thyroid just before I found out I was preggies. I then had to see a thyroid specialist every month (R350-R400 a visit), cash, plus Gynae every month. Thyroid blood work every month was R572 (cash as medical aid was exhausted by Feb). Some months he wanted bloodwork done twice a month and I wanted to cry! Gynae visits I had to do co-payment of about R200 per month and then for CS pay in R3000.

Also just before finding out I was preggies I needed MRI for slipped disc, had to pay in R3000 as my DH was having seizures and had used up that benefit so there wasnt enough left to cover my scan.

Our medical bills that year reached R50 000:( But somehow we survived. I even got a final notice that had to be paid while I was in hospital having given birth. Alot of tears and negotiation and paying off...and finally we paid everything up even though it took over a year to settle some bills and we almost got handed over. I used to alternate the labs where I did my bloodwork..so I didnt make too much debt at one lab.Eish!

So I TOTALLY understand how you feel. its very overwhelming and I wont lie...it is very expensive and I didnt know how we would survive....it felt like WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS:( BUT WE MADE IT!

I really hope the gynae can save you some money! That is great that he discussed doing that for you. FX it'll help ease the financial burden!

Marina thanks for the tip on the tea...they have lollies as well. I am going to try it. I'll try anything!

Hi all

Nelia and M2b - I am so jealous, my first scan is only on 1 June and that is still so far away. :)

Karatemum - I know what you mean with the bills. I am so scared of what I will have to pay, luckily not the doctor, but the test, like my blood test, etc. My medical aid pays so badly, that I am thinking of switching.

Nelia - my husband is also awesome, he try to help me where he can, but I feel so bad, because he is writing exams and he needs to concentrate on that, but no, he tries to help me.

M2b - you are so lucky that your work pay in full, I just hope all works out with us, when baby is born. All the bills and only being paid 50% in first month and then 30% onwards. But I am not going to stress about that now, will start saving and see how it works out.

To all that is Nausea, I bought the pregnancy magazine this month and with it was a teabag, rooibos and ginger, by Purity, and I drank it and I felt better. Went to shops Saturday and bought a box, it’s at the baby stuff. Maybe it will work for you too.

I hate leaking bottles and I cannot understand why they can't make them leak free. With the Avent, you must make 100% sure that the teat, especially between those "webs", are perfectly dry. If it's even a little damp, the bottle will leak. I also used the Playtex bottles last time (with the plastic disposable inserts) and I loved them. More expensive in the long run, but I'm still going to use them this time. Edgars and Baby Boom sell them.

Good luck with all the MS all of you. It feels like forever, but it will pass. Enjoy all the first scans. So exciting!

Nelia - congrats on getting the date - lol I think we are mostly all grateful when the Dr says it's only 1 in there!! I know I was freaking as there are many twins in my family.

Simone - Lol!! Shame about the vomiting, are you on meds for it? Maybe you need to go that route, or even change if they aren't working? You need to be able keep something down! GOod luck for your scan tomorrow.

maryka - I am also hungry all the time, wow I eat and eat! But can't eat till I'm full or I then feel sick, so find myself nibbling all day long.

I have so many medical bills to still pay off as hubby and I both had a bad first few months of the year (hubby ending up with epilepsy, and me with loads of gynae issues) I am paying off R4000 in bills, and my savings is done already and now I'm also having to pay for these gynae check ups cash :( I'm gonna be in debt forever. Spoke to the gynae now and he said we can chat more on my next visit but he will work out something a little cheaper for us. Let's hope so.
Sorry ladies, just a little down today :( need to vent

1 awesome monkey born March 2009 - MC in May 2010 - PCOS and endo - finally got my BFP on 14/04/2011

Maryka 15 June does seem forever away...lol...but I'm sure it'll be here soon!!

Bottles...I LOVE MAM and will be getting again for this baba. They are BPA free, I love the teats and their shape. Also the bottles can be used as a sterilising unit on its own! No steriliser needed....just pop the bottle into the microwave! I love that new feature.

Mom2be did you hear the heartbeat?? pics??? :woohoo: on being paid maternity leave! WOW THAT IS AWESOME!!!!

They told me to wait 2 weeks for outcome so wont hear anything until the end of next week.

Maryka Tomee tipee was excellent, my baby used them. Never leaked ever

We used Nuk but they leaked horribly and also my baby was both bottle and breast fed so the Tommee Tipee dummy did wonders as it is shaped just like the nipple
