Anni, so exciting that your sister is there. Lol, my dh has also been missing ghost pops but we didn't think to ask anyone to bring any. However, my parents managed to freeze and bring some akhalwayas sandwiches for us when they came so everything else was forgotten.

What kind of pelvic pain do you have? Is it round ligament or something else?

Don't worry, the deepening track puts me off to sleep everytime, actually, so do most of the tracks, lol. But they say it's still working, so I choose to believe it.

I'm STILL waiting around, have seen the acupuncturist twice so far and she has kindly offered me a free appointment for tomorrow as well, lol. I had 3 TINY little pressure waves on her table, so hopefully it will help. I tried the breast pump this morning and also had some sensations but they stopped as soon as I stopped the pump. Going to try it again tonight. My mucous plug started coming out two weeks back in tiny amounts but after my internal exam and sweep it seems to have come out completely...we did some baby dancing before the internal but haven't tried it since then..

I'm also eating pineapple and drinking red raspberry leaf tea by the liter, lol. Now I'm relying on prayer! I think God is teaching me a lesson in patience.

Hi all,

FF... sending some birthing time fairy dust your way. I hope the membrane sweep works. From what I have read so far, if you are already 3cm already it means your body is prepping and an induction won't cause unnecessary interventions. I believe acupuncture does bring it on. Have you also lost your mucus plug? I've also read that semen contains the same prostaglandins that they use in inductions so maybe doing the dance will bring it on ;). Also, if you have a breast pump, try nipple stimulation as it brings on contractions.

I tried to access the site your DH had suggested and its also blocked here. I guess if its just a Q&A site it won't really help me at this stage. I'm just playing with time now and doing 2 sessions in one day so that I can catch up. I have noticed that the deepening track really puts me into a very deep state of hypnosis... either that or I fall off to sleep every time I listen to it.

AFM... My sister arrived at 2am... so excited that she is finally here. She brought all my hoowa stuff and lots of other SA goodies that I miss. The only thing I forgot to ask for was ghost pops... been craving it on and off during my pregnancy. I'm so glad she can just take over the kitchen now.

I'm just struggling with this pelvic pain. I forgot to wear my maternity belt and I was in extreme pain all night. Can't even walk without holding onto something when I stand up. I'm bouncing on my birthing ball so hopefully that will help. I think lightening has occured because my heartburn has completely disappeared and my belly does look like its sitting lower. Lets hope she is in a good position already.

Hi guys

Had my 41 week checkup today and my midwife did an internal - I'm 3 cm dilated, yay! I asked her to sweep my membranes, which she did, so hopefully that will get some action going. Am also booked for acupuncture this afternoon to try to naturally induce...

Wish I didn't have to resort to all of this but am starting to feel the time pressure because I'm booked for an induction next Tuesday (41 weeks, 6 days) if baby hasn't come by then.

We also had a non-stress test and scan done to make sure baby is okay and that it's safe to wait until next week to induce. This little dude is thankfully doing fine, so active and there's lots of amniotic fluid :)

Hopefully things will start happening soon!

Anni, I'm pretty restless but I am sleeping about 5 good hours a night and then I nap for about an hour in the day...I'm feeling okay though. Since we expected baba to be here by now, I didn't plan anything so I basically have nothing to do except relax, lol.

If you want, I can forward you the email notifications from the yahoo group? It doesn't help if you want to ask any questions but it does cover all the questions and responses from other people. And if you do have any questions, I could post them for you. (Alternatively, my husband says you could try hidemyass.com, which is a web proxy server, to access the group and that way you could avoid signing up for a VPN). You can send me a private message with your email address if you want me to forward stuff to you.

I thought the Yahoo group would be more like moomie with chatty threads but it isn't actually, it's more a question and answer kind of thing.

I didn't even think about the leap year thing - would it just make a day's difference though? That would move me earlier, so it wouldn't help since I'm trying to avoid an induction! I know what you mean about the messages - that was me about a week or two ago, it was very annoying. I think people have finally gotten the hint that we would let THEM know. Now our family back home are completely stressing out because our midwives are happy to let me go till 42 weeks before they induce whereas it seems SA doctors would induce at 41 weeks.

Funny about the full moon thing, I've read that in birth stories too! Hope baby waits for your husband and your sister!

Congrats LeboS. Great news that Katleho didn't need any special care. Hope you feeling better now.

FF... how you holding up now? Are you getting any sleep at all at this stage? I really wish I could access that yahoo group... I am still looking for a good VPN so that I can get into the site. Right now I am porridge brain and its just not working plus I use mac so options are always so limited. I keep on getting BBM messages from family and friends asking me if I am "still" pregnant. Its just annoying at this stage. Did they calculate your date taking into account that this is a leap year? The first doctor I went to see at the beginning of my pregnancy pulled out the wheel and I asked her if she has one for a leap year. She wasn't too impressed.

AFM... Trying to walk as much as possible but I get so tired. Bubs is also quite low so I am waddling around like a duck. People seem to look at me in the malls as though I am about to just pop  My sister arrives this week. Can't wait for her to come. DH has gone for another business trip so I am hoping that I don't go into labour in the next 2 days. Still haven't found a name for her btw.

I read somewhere that more women tend to go into labour during a full moon. I actually asked my doctor and she said yes it is true but they do go into labour about 2 days before. The L&D ward is always full around that time every month. I found that quite interesting. So the next full moon is on 3 July which is a week after my date. ;)

Congrats LeboS!

I'm glad Katleho is doing well, sorry to hear that you're not feeling so good. It is good that you caught it though! I wish you a speedy recovery, hope you're still getting to enjoy your little girl!

Hi ladies

This is the 3rd time I'm submitting this, I don't know why but it just doesn't go through. Katleho was born premature at 36 weeks didn't need any special care which I really thank God for! The gynae was not happy with her heart ratings plus the fact that my amnio fluid was little so after 2 days n nights of monitoring her heart rate they took her out. The gynae n the hospital staff have really been great!

Today as I write this I'm back in hospital, high blood pressure yep not so nice but I'm happy cos by the time bloods were taken my liver was affected so a word of advice if ur feet starts to swell after birth n you have terrible headaches go to the doc. Thank God DH was in the room when I started not being able to breathe otherwise who knows where I d be now!!
