Congratulations to all the new mommies esp sicha nd 2kidmamma!

Firefly-yes she was awful and my mom and husband are also quite mad at how she was going on. I called my dr's office and made a complain about the dr on call that he left who also wasn't much help. The horrible nurse that dealt with me said she called the dr and he says its upto me and her to decide what to do. Then she went on to tell me, but i'm telling you its upto you to decide what to do. Like wth? I just got frustrated and came home luckily the contractions stopped in a few hours. Also called the hospital and made a formal complain with them about the nurse.

Yes I am anxious to hold my baby asap so getting impatient and very very uncomfortable. I've had back issues since the start and now it is just unbearable but after saturdays experience i'm happier to be uncomfy and just wait it out rather at home. I hope my water breaks rather than having to sit and time contractions.

LeboS-Yes I think your right doctors nurses today just dunno how to handle patients and have no patience at all so just shove c sections into your face. She could have just told me to go home and come back when contractions are 5min apart or something.

I was wondering that in the US after 36 weeks drs check the cervix for dialation nd do NST. But here by us they just check urine and feel how high the uterus is thats it. So is checking cervix and nst not common in rsa? I was just wondering since i often read about other women overseas talkin about how dialate they are and stuff.

Also what date does your dr work with? Your LMP or early sonar date? Like my due date according to LMP is 11 june nd according to early sonar is 6 june and has been 6 june in all subsequent sonars.

Hi ladies,

Hope all you ladies, bumps and babies are fine. Congradulations to those who have their babies already.
Tafara, my little man was born on the 15th of May via a c-section. He was 3.14kg and 49cm height and is doing well. I am breast feeding and I plan on doing that until I go back to work on the 1st of November when I will then introduce formula during the day.
So far i have had a myomectomy, firct c-section when I had my daughter and the second c-section now with my son. I didnt have any pain with the myomectomy and the first c-section, i hardly used pain medication after being discharged from hospital. This c-section was very painful. I ended up getting 3 pethidine(sp) injections while I was still in hospital and I also had to ask for more pain medicine after being discharged. My doctor did warn me that it was going to be painful when he was doing the c-section because I had lots of scar tissue. I still have pain but its now manageable without taking the pain medicine.
Will you all take care and all the best to those who are still to have their babies.

Keep well,

1st angel - into God's hands @ 22weeks
2nd angel - into God's hands @6w6d

3rd angel - EDD 17 August 2010, c-section 10 August 2010

4th angel - EDD 29 May 2011

Hi everyone :)

Nosh, your midwife is really rude! I can't imagine any of the midwives at my hospital behaving like that. And I've had two internal checks done during this pregnancy because I was bleeding - the first was done by a nurse when I was still at an ob/gyb practice and the second by a midwife after I moved and I found that the midwife was MUCH gentler and used more lubrication - there was no pain at all when she checked me. It is possible that the discharge you had was as a result of her check.

Are you tired of pregnancy that you're trying all the natural induction methods?I'm just behind you but I'm happy for this little baby to stay in a little longer. Though it's possible that in another week I may be ready to have him come out!

Lebo - I'm so glad you're feeling good. Hope that it stays like that at leaset until the weekend, sounds like you're going to be busy! I can't imagine entertaining people at this stage, too much effort! We had some people over for supper last night but only because my mother is around and she cooked and organised everything.

Lol @ your doc's reaction to the vbac. Which area are you in? I would definitely go to somewhere like Genesis if I were planning a vbac, the midwives and their gynaes seem to be much more supportive of vbacs and they have the facilities to do emergency c-sections if necessary. I think Anni is doing a vbac and she's done tons of research so you should chat to her :)

AFM, over the last few days I have started to swell. My feet mostly and my hands a little bit too. It's not the most pleasant feeling but at least it's only started now!

Hello ladies

Feeling good today.....hopefully it lasts the entire week, we moved into a bigger house so we are having a baby shower n homewarming together this saturday sjoe!!!! talk about eing busy but at least it takes my mind off waiting for baby to arrive :-)

Shame Nosh i hope things have progressed on your side n just thinking of the rude midwife who suggested you have a ceaser i lust wonder and i have realised that the reason everyone just shoves a ceaser down women's throats is because the doctors n midwives these days do not have the knowlegde n expertise the ones from the old days had and for them its an escape route to hide their incompetence and claim its in the baby's or mother's best interest.

personally im having a ceaser, had 2 already and doc nearly fainted when i mentioned vbac n to be honest when i read some of the vbac disasters i just cant take that risk especially since i had 2 ceasers already so as much as i hate the ceaser well im starting to psyche myself into accepting that its safer for my little madan she weighed 2.6 kg at 33 weeks so only God knows how chubby she is now.

i finally got warm pjs and Katleho(baby) s stuff will be washed tomorrow so yep that hospital bag is getting ready by friday .....i hope(chuckles). My only request to all the ladies please update us after the birth of your babies......how it went and so on its really encougaring for those of us who are still counting down to he big day please please please dont just dissapear.....all that said have a lovely one ladies and rememerin the end its all worth it:-)

Hello all!!

Hope all the moms due close have had their babies safely... this page is super quiet for all the due dates listed.

i ate eggplant, been walking like crazy, tried the baby dance though it hurt like hell cause we did it after almost 9 months(too paranoid to do it b 4), drank pineapple juice - all with no labor just get crampy and heavy for a bit :( then an hour later I started having contractions which since its my first time felt like back pain going around to my front getting intense. Woke my mom and huby up and we went to hospital they checked my urine and said i got some leukocytes(but i had them in my urine since one month and dr thinks its not too much so no problem) then after a VERY PAINFUL examination found out I was 1cm dialated(my dr duznt check inside at all), contractions every 10min. So they gave me option to stay at hospital or go home. I am glad I came home cause the contractions are gone now and I got some sleep. Only thing is the midwife was not nice at all and since i was in pain during examination she was telling my mom and all that i must just go for a c section cause she believes i can't handle the pain, basically she was trying to sell us the expensive c section! :-@ only good thing was I learned to time contractions and heard the babys heartbeat :)

had some brownish discharge inthe morning but now its gone, cud it be cuz of the internal examination I had last night at the hospital?
