@BabyT - that is scary and exciting all at the same time!! Really hope your delivery goes well, so sorry that things did not work out to plan, but I think we can all concur that with babies things rarely go to plan. Good luck for today, we will all be thinking of you!

@STK - that really sucks that your company made you go off early. Mine is much more relaxed in that sense, my boss asked me how I felt and what I wanted to do and we went from there. According to the policy yes I would have needed to give him a doc note, but its considered 'at the discretion of the manager' which worked fine for us. I think the fact that I worked till the day before I had my son last time and my level of work did not decline did help the situation a bit. Good luck though, hopefully you will be able to find something to do and not be so bored. Maybe your little one will surprise you and come a few days early, you never know

Hi Ladues, JLK he is absolutely beautiful!!! Congrats once again....

So ladies I went to the gynae for my 39 weeks check up and Karmi is not doing so great, instead of gaining weight she has lost weight and my placenta is almost completely calcified, so no more natural birth, no more Genesis and no more any of my plans...

Will be going in for a c section tomorrow morning and by tomorrow night I will be a mommy and a whole new chapter will have started for us.

@CarienM, unfortunately my employer forced me to go on leave so early, it's apparently law that you should go on leave 4weeks before your EDD, but I was able to stretch it to 2weeks before EDD with a docs note - I can't imagine how bad it wouldve been had they forced me to go 4weeks before.. Lol. But will definitely check out those adult colouring books.

Hi Ladies

How's everyone doing?

Well, my little boy turned a week old yesterday
He is a beautiful angel and we are smitten

Went in on the 1st of February as planned and was wheeled to theater at 12:00. At 12:32 Benjamin Charles came into this world crying - what a beautiful sound
He weighed 3.85kg measuring 56cm with a headful of hair and feet measuring almost 8cm he looks just like his sister - see attached photo





We did skin to skin as soon as we got to our room after surgery and he latched like a champ. We had a little trouble with the breastfeeding after that as he was difficult to wake and the nurses kept trying to interfere and manhandle my breasts into his mouth but I asked the them to give us some space and things went much beter from there. We went home on Thursday with him weighing 3.55kg.

It is great being at home with him. He sleeps well and drinks well and is really just a very quiet little baby. I weighed him this afternoon and he is already back to his birth weight. #proudmama

His big sister is completely in love with him and is so gentle with him. We try to involve her as much as possible and I try to spend some one on one time with her so she doesn't feel rejected or left out.

BumbleBee, your litlle angel is beautiful!

BabyT, so glad you were able to find joy at Genesis. Really hoping everything goes your way on the big day!

STK, I agree with CarienM. The adult colouring books are quite addictive. If you enjoy watching series consider trying out showmax or netflix.

@STK - that is exactly why I only started mine at the very last min. I will be working till Friday and have been scheduled for the csection ( ) on Monday, and I will be 3rd on the list for my doc so only have to be there at 1, think I will be doing some last things in the morning just to make the time go by...if I have too much time on my hands I will definitely just start stressing and panicking and I think that is really the last thing I need right then! This week is super busy for me too, really have so much to do which I actually think is a good thing b/c it keeps my mind off of other things.

Something that might be fun (for a little bit at least) is to get one of those adult coloring books...I know it sounds stupid, but really it is soooo addictive. My husband got me some for when he was in AU last week just to keep me busy during my down time and I have to say once you start its hard to stop (for me at least)

@babyT - have also heard great things about Sue, I was hoping she could help me too, but since I am having Bigfoot's baby that is just not possible. Let us know what goes for what and how you are doing with getting that little one to come.

I've been in Maternity leave since the 4th... And I must say I'm bored out of my mind at home. lol the joys

@babyT - any update regarding baby and possibly birthing with Sue? I've heard she is a great midwife, you are definitely in good hands with her.

@Bumblebee - thanks for all the tips, really helps alot. How is your baby girl doing?

Hi Ladies, guess who in finally on maternity leave as of tomorrow I am so happy that this day has finally arrived!

Went for my second opinion at Genesis and I must say the midwife we met was absolutely amazing! She said that there is absolutely no reason why I should be given a chance to at least go into labour before being told that i need a c section. So I am over the moon, she is willing to assist us with the birth so she said we need to take our time to decide what we want and how we want it, I cant explain my relief
