Wow BumbleBee - how exciting!!!! My baba is no where near being engaged yet, and I am also worried about her weight, she gained 670g in two weeks, so very curious to see what she will be weighing on Friday :-)

Scary Meijermom, I am so afraid of getting sick now... Hope you feel better soon.

Hi all! Went to the doctor and he said he took 5 ladies in hospital over the tummy bug and I must now not do any diary for a couple of days and monitor the situation. I have infection also and he placed me on meds and I had terrible pain last night and phoned him, to which he said I passed I kidney stone. But at the end of the day and counting 27 days off till baby arrives which will make it all worth it!

@Carien, please let us know about the test later the week. Hoping all the best and good for you that stays so calm!

@JLK, so excited and jealous of you at the same time! 12 sleeps! I hope it goes very fast! Like the baby room and see you are fully stocked!

@CarienM, seems tis be the year for big babies all round ;) Let us know your test results when you do go for the test?

@JLK, wow you're pretty well prepared!

@BabyT, funny I was wondering the same thing this morning. My breasts have become quite sensitive this past week and aren't leaking as such, but there is a slight white deposit from time to time and if I wipe it off it kinda smells like condensed milk, so suppose things are happening, but not proper 'wetness' to speak of. Apparently not everyone leaks, so maybe we shouldn't worry about it?

Wen't for our 36w scan today and little miss has calmed down in her growth, for which I am grateful :P She's still ahead though at roughly 3.1kg (300g up from 2 weeks ago), but doc says he's still fairly sure she'll only be about 3.4kg at birth. I've discussed with him that if she goes anywhere near 4kg I would prefer a caesar though, and he agrees.

Got a nasty shock this morning when trying to put on my pants though - they don't fit at all anymore  I've been waddling around in dresses this week, and while I knew my legs and feet were puffy, I didn't realise how bad my legs were. Had a weigh and I've gained 2kg in a week (3kg total in the past 2 weeks) - only from the waist down. Doc said not to worry about it and that it is all water weight - I am insanely swollen. My BP is low/normal/ so he said he'd keep an eye on it, but thinks I am just really unlucky in the swelling department.
He gave me the go-ahead to swim as much as I like, even though my mucus plug has come out, for which I am very grateful in this heat. He also confirmed that baby's head has engaged. Seeing him every week from now. So now the waiting game begins! We're still waiting for the last renovations to be done some time next week, and then I will start dancing and whatever else I can to help things along :)

Oh..... All the excitement

Good luck JLK, pretty soos that car seat will have a little passenger in.....

My hubby is on high alert, its too funny, baba must just kick a little to hard and he is ready to grab the bag and run, its so cute :)

Ladies, can I ask - has any of you had any sort of milk come out of your breasts? Everybody tells me its normal and if it doesnt happen you might not have enough milk when baba arrives. But somehow this does not make sense to me, I have had no leakage what so ever but surely the hormones that gets produced during birth should kick start the breast milk?

Anyway, good luck to all!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well :)

@Carien, thanks for the recipe you gave us, I'm definitely going to try it. I hope your 3hr glucose test comes back negative when you do go in for it.

@meijermom, how did your checkup go and what did the doc say about your upset tummy?

We went for our final checkup yesterday. Only 12 more sleeps to go! Cannot believe the wait is almost over - it actually started sinking in as we walked into the docs office yesterday!
Baby is doing very well and everything is set - our bags are even packed... The maternity shoot is also set to take place this weekend so I'm really looking forward to that :)

I've started getting together my daughter 's big sister gift from her baby brother. Will go to Her-Annies tomorrow to see what else I can get and post a pic once it is all done.

I've attached some nursery pics. There are still some items that have to be organised and pictures to go up on the walls though..

Morning Ladies,

Hoping everyone is doing well. I got a bit of a fright yesterday...my doc sent me for the 1 hour Glucose screening test just to be doubly sure (b/c my baby is so big) that there are no signs of gestational diabetes. Well the test came back quite high so she immediately told me to go see a dietitian and put me on meds. But then the more I thought about it, the more I know that the test results were skewed. The thing checks for glucose levels and as stupid as I am, I ate COMPLETELY differently from normal the few days before I did the test, including having a bowl of ice cream the night before I took the test which is completely out of the norm for me. So I spoke with my doc and she wants me to re-test but the next level up test. I went this morning to have the test done, and besides that I was supposed to sit there for 3 hours!!! the lady there was the unfriendliest person I have come across in a long time!! I actually left b/c I really just dont have the time to be out of the office for that long, especially not today, I will try to do the test later this week.

In all honesty, I am really not concerned (any more). I go see this lady just to talk about things in general, she is a doula and has midwifery skills and fortunately I saw her yesterday and she completely calmed me down. I have no signs of gestational diabetes besides having a big baby - and this is expected, my husband is 6'7", and was born either 4-6 weeks early (his mother cant remember) and was 3.6kg, I was born at 38 weeks and weighed just under 4kg, so we were big babies also. I have no other indications that there is GD and I know my diet before the test last week was completely off.

Anyway, hoping you ladies have a quiet week, good luck for the mommies who are seeing doc's this week, hoping everything goes well.

@STK, aww it's the cutest things when the daddies become broody :P
Re baby having dropped, at first I noticed pressure on and sharp stabs in my cervix - kinda feels like a bit of pain I get when I have my period sometimes, a general feeling of being very sensitive 'down there'. And then I realised that my heartburn was much better and I wasn't huffing and puffing unless she was wedging her feet under my ribs. Apart from the weight pulling on my abdominals, I'm not out of breath when getting in and out of bed anymore :) And then the shape of my boep has changed - it's gone rounder (if possible) and sitting very low. The pressure down there makes me waddle with my legs crossed, I honestly feel like she's going to drop out, or I'm going to wet my pants - which actually happened this morning when I blew my nose...

I'm also seriously over being pregnant now! Cannot wait to hold and cuddle her

@meijermom, I'm making a list today of everything I HAVE to do before she comes, and the rest will just have to happen after she's here - it's going to be a short list for before as I really can't do much. One of the things is getting the renovations done, but sadly we have no control over builders and their timelines :( Big hugs for your building woes - I know the feeling, though we are very fortunate not to have to move.
I've also been having an upset tummy the past couple of days, but your throwing up sounds like it might be something else - like something you ate, or a tummy bug? Shame, can't imagine throwing up with a huge tummy!
