Morning ladies,
@BabyT - Baby weighed 1.7 at birth but has dropped now to 1.6. Unfortunately NICU states baby must weight 2kg and feed without a tube before they can even consider discharging him. But its sad for the mom and dad, and I can see the strain its taking on them to see their baby like that.

@CarienM - thanks for the recipe. Will definitely give it a try.
@Meijiermom - I've been having a loose tummy (if that's what you mean), i read its pretty normal, and also the discharge is possibly just your body prepping for birth?
We have our 36 week scan this Saturday...cannot wait to see this little man again :D

@Bumblebee - How do you know that baby has dropped? I've been experiencing a lot of pressure in my pelvis and extra pressure on my bladder... don't know if that means baby has dropped?

Shame DH cannot wait for baby to come now... every other afternoon after work he would go into our baby room and 'play' with baby's pram and say that he cant wait to take it for a test drive with a baby in... he is so sweet :P

Hi ladies. Going for my 35/36 week scan tomorrow. I have been throwing up and had a very upset tummy. My discharge has also increased. I apologize for the "too much" information. I however need to know if anybody else has experienced the same?

@cariemm, thank you for the recipe. I am also stressing if the milk will come in and stay. I will definitely give it a try.

@bumblebee. I know how you are feeling in regards to renovations and I can sympathize with you. We are busy building a house and with all the delays, we will never move in time. Not even to mention the finances. Please take it easy! And I know... You don't want to and can't. But try as much as possible!

@ STK beautiful nursery!

Enjoy your week all!

Hello Ladies,

Sounds like everyone is kind of reaching the end of their tether with being pregnant. Don't get me wrong, growing a person is a magical thing, but I am kind of getting to the "I'm over it can I just have my baby now" point.

Anyway, I was searching for some natural ways to increase milk supply (previously I was prescribed eglynol, now want to try the natural way as apparently that makes you gain/retain weight) and came upon the cookie recipe that could provide some help (as far as I can tell its b/c of the brewers yeast and oatmeal); I am all for a cookie that could help with milk so I thought I would share:

Not just any cookie, but special lactation cookies. This recipe has been making the rounds for decades, and we’re sharing it with you.

You’ll need:
1 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of flax seed meal (don’t skip this step, and no substitutions!)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
3 cups of steel cut oats
1 cup of chocolate chips
4 tablespoons of brewer's yeast

Directions:
1 Preheat oven to 350°.
2 Mix the flaxseed meal and water and let sit for 3-5 minutes.
3 Cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
4 Add eggs and mix well.
5 Add flaxseed mix and vanilla, mix well.
6 Sift together flour, brewer’s yeast, baking soda, and salt.
7 Add dry ingredients to butter mix.
8 Thoroughly stir in oats and chocolate chips.
9 Scoop onto baking sheet, approximately 1” balls.
10 Bake for 12 minutes.
11 Allow cookies to set for a few minutes before removing from tray.
12 Enjoy!

Hello Ladies! Glad to hear everyone is doing so well!

STK , your nursery is looking stunning! I LOVE that shade of blue! Have just managed to convince hubby to paint the feature wall in our lounge a dark blue - it really makes furniture and items placed against the wall 'pop' :) Aww your little nephew is so tiny! Hope he gets to go home soon and you SIL has a smooth recovery.

BabyT, shame your work is really being unreasonable :( please take care of yourself!

CarienM, so sorry to hear your birth plan is not working out as you wished, but having gotten to know your personality on the forum, you are so level headed and calm, and sure things will work out perfectly for you :)

On this side, we've had a pretty stressful week with hubby working (from home at least) and me trying to organise last minute renovations to the house - we had planned them for Nov, but this was the only time the builders could squeeze us in. On top of that a few things broke (including our fridge), and having repair people in the house while trying to clean - plus all the renovation dust and noise - made for a very stressful lead up to my baby shower on Saturday. I ended up having to organise most of the baby shower's logistics myself - hiring of chairs and crockery etc and setting up, and both my organisers - mom and best friend - were late on the day and so taken up with what they had planned to do that they weren't much help with the general setting up.

Baby 'dropped' last Monday, and with all of the above stress and being on my feet so much this past week, my mucus plug came out on Sat morning. Hubby took me to hospital and I spent a couple hours there to be monitored on the CTG and have bloods taken. My blood pressure was high, and I was having regular, but very mild contractions, so they wanted to keep me, but they let me come home for my baby shower at least, with the promise to come in if anything changes.
The baby shower was a slight shambles with me arriving just in time and my organisers not being particularly 'organised'... and 35+ people showing up!! I was totally surprised, feel so spoilt and our little girl is well and truly kitted out now! Which is very fortunate as I've been ordered to rest with my feet up as much as possible.
Went back to hospital yesterday for a follow up and they kept me for about 5 hours, so took a much needed nap :P Didn't have any contractions and baby's vitals are looking really good, but the nurses and midwives have taken bets on when she will arrive and they predict within the next 2 weeks, so we might have a Jan baby instead  Seeing my Doc on Wednesday and we'll hear what he says too.
Luckily my bags are packed, but I honestly thought I'd have another 5+ weeks and her nursery is nowhere near done, and I'm not allowed to be on my feet  all I want to do is organise!!!

Awh STK, the little baba is so tiny, how much does he weigh? So glad he is doing okay tho :-) and the nursery is beautiful...

We went to our 35 week appointment today and little madame has grown at a rate on note! She now weighs 2.6kgs (so she picked up 670g in just over two weeks!) doctor said that he is happy with babies health but he was surprised by her weighs and her head now measures 37weeks - so he said she is gonna be a big little baby...

In terms of my work, not sure when I am going om maternity leave - at this point it feels like I will still be sending emails in the middle om my contractions! But I am gonna try and go to work until 38 weeks.... So somewhere around the beginning of Feb I will finish up at work I think...

My uncle is set to start chemo and radiation om Monday, he is very positive even though the prognosis is not very good at all, so as long as he is eager to fight I am backing him all the way.

Hey Ladies,

Totally agree with the pregnancy brain - the struggle is real :( I actually forgot to pack my husband lunch the other day :( shame felt so bad for him. LOL

@CarienM - So sorry to hear that you wont be getting your VBAC that you hoped for. But like they say, the doc knows best and wont suggest a c-section unless absolute necessary.

@BabyT - sorry to hear about your work situation. I agree with MrsMom, let the tears go and then perhaps your boss will realize the seriousness of the situation. Because you really should be taking it easy in these last couple of weeks.

We're also done with the nursery (added a pic), and we have washed all bubs clothes :). Just need to pack our bags :)

My SIL unexpectedly delivered her baby last week at 32Weeks. Apparently due to stress which possibly lead to an infection in her amniotic fluid - the docs don't really have an explanation as to why. But baby is at least stable and in ICU - but seems he is going to stay there for a while. Shame she hasn't even be able to hold he baby. :(

Hi everyone! I finally got logged in to this forum again! There was or is something wrong as it refused me access and I am receiving no notification. Happy to be back as I have been catching up with everyone. We are now 34 weeks and 3 days, and two weeks ago Carlo was 2.5kg and scan said he is two weeks ahead of schedule as he was calculated to then be already 34.5 weeks. I am now over pregnancy and want to meet my little baby boy! Bags are backed but as I can see I am VERY behind all the ladies here. We have a prenatal class only this Saturday and then our baby shower is on Sunday. Busy weekend! We wil hopefully find out our final date next week and if baby is over 3 kg we will do a c-section. But Doctor says we are looking at 15 February. Was hoping for earlier! How is everyone? I had some cramps today and my tummy is very upset. Think I am stressing about the birth as I am first time mommy. Hope you all are doing well!
