@ninies, thats the list just for the hospital?!! I think I have probably 2 more of everything as my list for what is needed for "newborn" stage!! :ohmy: :dry: aslo did you use socks the last time? I only have babygrows with the feet covered, and am not much of a booties person, so am wondering if I need socks......
Hows the hand? My wrist is so sore nowadays, but its cos I sleep with my hand under my face!

The hormones are really hitting recently! Last week, I was balling my eyes out, and I have no idea why!! Then I felt so alone the other day, and wondered if Im going to be able to do the "stay at home mum" thing, as somedays I feel everything is always about my family, and never about me, and work in a way gave me something else! :blink: :huh: but am feeling better now.
Labour dreams have started!! some of them good, some of them not so good! so this morning i was up from about 5am! and I am on leave so I dont need to wake so early!

This is an odd one, please let me know if any of you ladies feel the same. When my daughter gives a massive stretch or kick, I sometimes feel weird. Its not quite short of breathe, but it feels like the blood is draining from everywhere and being directed to the baby! I dont know if it might be a mild panic attack.... or if its worth mentioning to the doctor....

@Sonsbaby, maybe chat to work about going in a bit later in the mornings for these last couple of weeks, it makes a big difference having a little bit more time, when you aint so rushed! even if its half an hour.

Hi Ladies

I have not thought about detergents, sometimes I feel like I am taking things lightly.

This long weekend I am not going anywhere and I promised myself that I will be packing cupboards.

Good morning ladies!

I am so tired this morning, I started with a cough last night just as I got into bed and it kept me up most of the night! As soon as I lay down it started again! So feel very much the zombie today! I think I am going to tell my manager I need to go home at 12!

@CDLK - I am also very emotional the last week! I keep on dreaming that I am going into labour early and everything goes wrong! :S And my poor hubby tries so hard to be supportive when the tears come for no apparent reason! I feel like I can cry when I drop something! :blush: :dry: My maternity starts on 15 April and I don't know how I am going to make it till then! At least the long weekend will help a bit! Glad your dr visit went well and that your little one is growing so well! My next appointment is only 8 April as my gynea says she does not see a reason why we need to make the visits shorter intervals as there is no problems! But I think from the next visit it will be more frequent!

@ninnies - thanks for the list I started to pack the baby bag last night with stuff I thought we might need like body wash, bum creams, nappies, wet wipes and such. Still need to put in the clothes but still need to rinse them out!

@Maj - I went yesterday and bought the Elizabeth Anne detergent and plan to rinse out all the clothes and blankets this weekend! I forgot about the roll-on stain remover you talked about! Need to remember to go buy that! I had a look at the receiver blankets I have and 3 of the 5 is so small!! So I will have to look out for bigger ones!

I did some clothes shopping at woollies as they have this massive sale on and found allot of clothes for the little one for next summer at ridiculously cheap prices was so happy about that!

@Lolabunny - shame you have allot of explaining to do to your firstborn when the time comes for the new baby to have the boobies LOL :silly: I don't buy comfort sta-soft as I cannot use it myself I am allergic to it so I do have a big concern about skin allergies where it comes to the baby! There is quite a few washing powders and sta-softs that I cannot use! Thanks for the ziplock tip will have a look out for those baggies!

Wanted to know how many newborn clothes does a person need? I hear so many different stories some says allot and some say just a few items as they grow out of it so quick!

I think you are correct Ninies, Blou is due before you but you'll be first (if her baba stays put). Luckily only a few more days for you!! I feel like going on maternity leave now if I can and just doing nothing until 21 April...

My work actually requested a letter from the doctor to confirm that I can work until 38 weeks pregnant as I'm actually suppose to be on leave from 36 weeks according to the maternity policy. Mmm, wonder if I can bribe my doctor to say I should work from home from 36 weeks lol

@CDLK - The sterilisation is such a final procedure. I am also going to think about it still. I am also finding it emotional thinking about it. What if something happens to baby in the first few years and you want to have another and you cant? I dont know. I am glad that your baby is growing so nicely. One less thing to worry about.

I am working this week. My maternity leave will start on 31 March 2016. I will probably come in a few more days in April.

Is Blou Sonneblom not due before me? I know she was a few days longer preggies than me, but then again I am having a c-section and she is having a normal, so I could be the first one.

Hi there ladies

Hope everyone is doing well? Love this list idea by the way!

So it looks like Ninies is the first in line to have baba! Very exciting stuff.

@Ninies - I also want to do the sterilization but it feels as though it's so final. I definitely don't want another child but emotionally I'm not really ready to do the sterilization. I've told hubby to go for the snip snip, he sort of agreed lol. We both don't want a third child but I have no idea why I feel so emotional about getting sterilized!! I'm also still deciding on whether to do it or not...

Is everyone working this week? I can kick myself now, I should have taken leave this week. I'm finding it REALLY difficult to still be at work - oi vey. I don't know what I was thinking working until 15 April - can kick myself. Definitely going to ask my manager to work from home that week of 15th April as I am so uncomfortable right now.

We went for our 34 scan last Thursday, our little girl is doing very well. She is now back in the 90th percentile, already weighs 2.6kg and she has long legs...and lots of hair lol. That scare we had at 28 week check up with her dropping in growth seems to have been a false alarm and it was the way she was positioned in the womb at that point which made her look smaller. She is turned already into the birthing position, head down and she is lying very low, which adds to my discomfort. I've actually been having Braxton hicks the past few days and also my back is killing me at night. I had a bad fall down the stairs last year August just as we found out we were pregnant, and I can feel the after effects now definitely. Looks like she may be around 3.6 - 3.7kg at birth, close to my son, he was 3.85kg and 56cm. So we're expecting another big baby...and more discomfort for the next few weeks!

Lately I'm feeling so darn emotional, also have this nagging feeling I'm going to go into labour before my C-section date...hormones!!

I actually still have a few things to do around the house before she arrives, still want to finish her room, we have to set up the camp cot for our room, set up stroller. Started packing her bag and mine, want to finish that this weekend and also sort out cupboards

Are you ladies going to make meals to freeze for the first two weeks or so for after baby is born?

Hi Ladies,

@Maj - I also used the roll on stain remover with my son, and also found it worked very good. I must remember to get some more for this time.
The app went very well. Bloodflow is fine, placenta is aging nicely, enough fluid and everything looks good. I also asked my doctor about the sterilisation and he said it can be done with the c-section. It only takes about 10 minutes longer and it works out cheaper for the medical aids if it is done with a c-section than having to come back later to do it. So it makes sense. Because of my age he is also not too hesitant to do it. I will still give it a thought, but it looks like I will take this option. But first I will try to convince hubby for a third child, but I dont think he will budge.

Good luck with your app tomorrow. We are now on weekly appointments. So my next one is for 01 April. My doctor was telling us about one of his colleagues patients, who had her c-section at 39 weeks. Nothing but nothing went wrong (healthy placenta, no cord around the neck, enough fluid etc etc) and baby's heart stopped beating in the womb at 39 weeks!!!! One of those unexplainable things like SIDS. My heart just aches for those parents. I must say, even with my son, that was my biggest fear. And I only felt better once I heard his cry when he was born.

@Sonsbaby - I used our normal washing liquid to wash baby's clothes. Since using the liquid I dont buy any softener as I find the liquid is enough and makes our clothes nice and soft and it smells good too. I must say, I use it sparingly on the baby's clothes.
I have about 10 receiving blankets. I kept some of my sons that are still very nice. I think this will be enough. My hospital listed the following to take with for the baby:
* 5 vests
* 5 babygrows
* Nappies
* 5 pairs of socks
* 5 receiving blankets
* 2 warm blankets
* 1 cloth nappy

@Lolabunny - thanks for the tip on the ziplog bags. Those storage bags are way too expensive for me too to buy, so I like your idea much better.

@Jaybee - Yes hun can you believe that just the other day we were chatting on the TTC forum about when we bd and what symptoms we had and how many DPO we were. I honestly thought I would be stuck there forever, but thanks to our mighty God we are blessed again with the best present anyone can ever get.
