My mom gave my daughter water because she said she had "sours" - or that milk buildup in the mouth. But you just need to give some glycerine I think, and wipe their mouth with a wet cloth. She was exclusively breastfed and I used the bottles I got to store expressed breastmilk for when I wanted to go out and she was staying with granny and grandpa. It hardly worked, because she hated it and would wait until I got back before she drank anything

The water didn't hurt her, but I know people say they should not get water, because you are right - the breastmilk does have the water she needs. However, if your mom says give her water, just give her some water lol! Nothing will happen to her

And grandma's like to do what they want anyway
