@Maj - She sure sounds like a character.

I am using a very old Janome machine that my mother gave me a few years ago. It is about 20 years old and it is still doing a very good job. It does need a service though. I found a nice and very easy pattern for a fitted sheet on pinterest. You can bug anytime for any instruction or tip. ;)

I can only sew basic stuff, but I enjoy making stuff myself.
Good luck with the heartburn! I dont have any at the moment.

I got my results back from my doctor. Nothing wrong in my urine sample, and the protein in my blood is normal. So the swelling is definitely due to the heat. We had a cooler weekend in Pretoria and even today is cooler - and the swelling is much better. I am really wishing and praying for a cold front / winter.

@ ninies and licious, my daughter is a character!! But she is def going to be very helpful. As she says, she will be the big sister, and she is going to protect and her sister and keep her safe.
She has taken out toys, puzzles, clothes, etc etc for the baby. I think she is going to be disappointed that the baby wont be doing much initially!
Trying to prep her for the crying, as she says she doesnt like "crying babies". My niece (5 months) cries alot!!
I agree with being safer rather than sorry with the check-ups, I just believe more check-ups, create more of a worry, which creates more fear, and that in a way creates the problems. But will just go with it, and try not to get too worried.

I wish i had something to paint. I have this urge to paint!! happened during the last pregnancy too, but back then, i had alot more time!
@ninies, I am going to buy a sewing machine soon, so that i can make some stuff too. So i might bug you for some patterns or instructions. What machine do you have?

@Jay-Bee, dont worry about remembering stuff. Just do the rainbow relaxation everyday!
As much as he offers the meds, you can refuse the meds too. I am sure if you dont look like you need it, they wont give it you. Make hubby be your security, and not allow anything that you dont want, unless you ask for it!
I also need to up my squats! how long should 1 be able to hold the squat for? Although I am making a habit of squatting for everything instead of bending.

AFM my heartburn has also increased considerably! Woke up the other night as it was soo bad! I need to add another pillow so im a bit more upright! I am running out of extra pillows!! haha!

Hi ladies,

@Maj - Your daughter sounds so awesome....a real mother hen. She is going to be such a great help to you.

@Jaybee - I still have not managed to finish painting my chest of drawers. :( I need to get my act together, but we had family over for the weekend and I did not want to be rude.
I did however, sew my very first fitted crib sheet yesterday. I am going to buy some nice flennie material (same as they use for winters sheets) and make some more. They are expensive if you buy them and I can make it in 30 minutes or less.

Yes I think my baby has moved down already. He is lying on my bladder.

@Licious - so glad to hear your heartburn is better.

My hubby bought us a bottle warmer on friday - so I think we have most of the big stuff now.

Hi Ladies

@Ninies I think having those bi-monthly check its a great thing. better be safe than sorry as they say.

@Maj how sweet is you daughter...that so sweet!!! please take with on the tour so that she can get a feeling of where will moomie be on the birthing day.

@Jaybee the heartburn its better today, I have decided to take 1tsp 3 times a day...with your classes I say go through what you were taught on a weekly basis if you are afraid you will forget on the last day. Take it easy I am sure you will be fine.

@ Ninies, I also have just one more thing to paint then I am basically finished. I was thinking of washing the clothes and bedding at 34 weeks or so. I am very eager to pack my bag already but I am sure I will pack and re pack it many times. Has your baby moved down yet?

@ Maj, I also agree with Ninies and prefer to go every two weeks after the 30/31 week mark. I have my 31 week checkup in two weeks and will see when the Gynae makes another appointment for me.
I am a bit afraid of tearing so will be doing the perineal massages and strengthen my inner thighs for squats. I did some squats yesterday and I can hold that position for a grand total of 30 seconds  so will have to practice loads more.

@ Licious, I hope the heartburn eases up a bit.

AFM, I have my second last HypnoBirthing class tonight and hope that what I have learnt I will remember to apply when I give birth. Also a bit worried that my Gynae doesn't budge as the labour ward nurse says he is very set in his ways. He likes one to birth on the back and it very pro natural but even more pro epidural. I am just worried that he will want to give me pain relief at every moment he can. I am going to talk to him at my next scan as then I will be booking my bed as well.
