Hi Ladies,

Gosh, I am getting so uncomfortable it is not funny. And I get so stiff after sitting for long periods. I am waddling like a ducky...

This heat is still getting to me.
I got 2 night dresses from Makro over the weekend with spaghetti type of straps. They will work for hospital. It is usually warm in hospital.

Has anyone packed their bags yet for baby and mom? I have made a list as I am getting very forgetful now, but have not yet packed them.

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I have been feeling so lethargic recently!

@ monei,
alot of the men i work with have been asking why I am not just taking the maternity leave (getting paid) and resigning whilst on leave. Of course the contract has a clause stating that if i need to pay the maternity leave back or work back teh time i was on leave.....
The hospital is called Origin Family Centered Hospital.

Im also in 2 minds about when you should go on maternity leave, i guess it has a lot to do with how you are feeling. Alot of woman are barely functioning after 34 weeks due to just being uncomfortable, and not enough sleep. And somehow there's soo many things which haven't been sorted so its probably a good time.
I went on maternity leave 4 weeks before my EDD, as I had to fly to another city! I got terribly bored and lazy, so I am leaving at the end of April, and am due in the 2nd week in May. Not sure if I am cutting it too close...

@ninies, I did not think about the c-sec bit. Glad I could help ;)

@Maj - I also prefer pants, but I remember from last time that you cant really wear pants after a c-section. So I will be better off sticking with some strappy dresses.
Yes I can sew, you have given me a good idea. Thank you hun.

@Blou,hope your boss succeeds and representing your increase issue well. I have clearly been taking our maternity leave policy for granted. I'm just trying to wrap my head around why my business unit wants to strictly apply the Basic Conditions of Employment ' 4 weeks before due date. I really don't wana sit twiddling my thumbs waiting for a month. Atleast 2 weeks before my due date. This month means less time of my mleave with baby.

It's really brave of those resigning to take the leap.i am looking forward to 2017 to find a new job. After I work back my maternity period as well as my bursary -it's cheaper and easier to stick around than pay them back.lol

@maj, what's the name of the new hospital opening in cpt that you mentioned?

Had our 4d scan and first midwife check up today. We turn 29 weeks 2mrw and weighing in at 1.36kg. He is beautiful!!! Can already see myself playing with those cheeks! He was kinda irritated by us tho. Lol. Atleast he played along for us to see him. Even tho at some point he looked he was shielding himself from paparazzi. He is downwards n all looks good for natural so far so praying it stays that way!

@ninies, i personally prefer pants. so either yoga-type pants with breastfeeding vests or button front pants and top pj's.
I dont think you are going to get much variety in terms of button-nighties.

Can you sew or know someone who can? You could buy nighties (without buttons), and buy some ribbon and buttons and make them button front.

Hallo ladies,

Hope everyone is well and ready for the weekend. Again, in Pta it is going to be a very hot weekend.

@Blou - I am so glad you are feeling better about your increase situation and that your manager are willing to assist you.

What nighties are you ladies getting for the hospital? They recommend nighties that opens at the front to make it easy for breastfeeding, but they are quite difficult to get. Woolies has some but at a very expensive price. I managed to find one dress from Pep that has buttons in front half way - but I will need more than one.
I remember with my son I also struggled to find front opening nighties. I might just stick to spaghetti tops....
